Mildred Lovell Weckar, age 66, died Tuesday, May 4, 1999 in Stamford, Texas.
Services will be held on Thursday, May 6, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Megee officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Seymour, Texas. Services are under the direction of Archer Funeral Home in Seymour, Texas.
Mrs. Weckar was born January 19, 1933 in Albany, Texas. She was a lifetime resident of Seymour and a homemaker. She and Charles James Weckar were married October 11, 1947 in Munday, Texas. He died April 7, 1993. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include: three sons, Billy of Flower Mound, Texas, Charles Eugene of Mount Airy, North Carolina, and Travis of Wichita Falls, Texas; two daughters, Tonya Thorn of Seymour, Texas and Shelley Crawford of Stamford, Texas; her mother, Jewel Ford of Seymour, Texas; four sisters, Wynona Harper of Wichita Falls, Texas, Charlotte Dixon of Seymour, Texas; Janie Krcik of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Martha Whitford of Knox City, Texas and 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Mildred Mercer Stowe
Mildred Mercer Stowe, 87, of Olney, Texas, died Monday, May 3, 1999, in an Olney hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 1999, at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Doug Whiting, pastor, and Scotte Clark, minister of the Hamilton Street Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow in the Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas, under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home.
She was born August 3, 1911, in Godley, Texas, to the late Isaac Ernest and Eunice (Moore) Mercer. She and Clarence B. Stowe were married December 25, 1931, in Decatur, Texas. He preceded her in death February 9, 1991. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder. She was a graduate of Olney High School in 1929. She was licensed vocational nurse at Hamilton Hospital for 15 years. Mildred was an instructor at the Hamilton Hospital School of Nursing. She was a homemaker. She moved to Young County in 1918.
Survivors include two sons: Glenn Stowe and wife, Helen of Gainesville, Texas, Dink Stowe and wife, Patsy, of San Angelo, Texas; two daughters, Louise Andrews and husband, Arch of Archer City, Texas, Brenda Boydston and husband, Don, of Olney; one brother, Lyle Mercer and wife, Dana, of Whitesboro, Texas; one sister, Bertie Ballard of Olney; one, brother-in-law, Lavell Meaders and wife, Wylodene, of Seymour, Texas; one sister-in-law, Lavina Mercer of Bowie, Texas; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Bettye Dycus Moss
Bettye Dycus Moss, 86, died Monday, May 3, 1999, in a Seymour hospital.
Services were held Wednesday, May 5, 1999 at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Shock, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the I.O.O.F Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Moss was born May 17, 1912, in Seymour, Texas. She and Hall Dycus were married June 19, 1932, in Seymour, Texas. He died December 13, 1977. She and Clifton Elliott Moss were married September 12, 1979, in Seymour. He died November 20, 1998. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Order of Eastern Star and the Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include two daughters, Bettye J. Dalton and Helen M. Busby, both of Seymour; a sister, Dorothy Ray of Roseburg, Oregon; a brother, Wesley Hayley of Seymour; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Kenneth Ray Hibbits
Kenneth Ray Hibbits, 66, of Graham died Saturday, April 3, 1999, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 1999 at Morrison Funeral Home with the Rev. Buddy Moore, pastor of Salem-Crestview United Methodist Church, and Rev. Joe Finfrock, pastor of Oak Street Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Pioneer Cemetery.
Mr. Hibbits was born May 12, 1932, in Throckmorton, Texas. He and Barbara Boyd were married March 21, 1975, in Breckenridge, Texas. He was a veteran of the Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He moved to Graham in 1943 from New Braunfels, Texas, and was a charter commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8576, in Graham. He was a member of Salem-Crestview United Methodist Church and was a retired drilling superintendent for Wes-Mor Oil Company.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Connie of Seymour, Texas; three sons, Neal of Weatherford, Texas, Kenneth R. of Seymour and Kerry Mack of Abilene, Texas; a stepdaughter, Patricia Braddock of Graham; two step-sons, Dewayne Osborn of Graham and Gary Osborn of Wichita Falls; a sister, Billie McClanahan of Graham; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Lavada Jones
Lavada Jones, 86, died Monday, April 26, 1999, in a Seymour hospital.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 1999, at Calvary Baptist Church in Seymour with the Rev. Tony Megee, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery in Seymour under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jones was born April 24, 1913, in Bryan County, Oklahoma. She and Ben Aaron Jones were married July 21, 1933, in Seymour. He died August 31, 1990. She was a homemaker and a farmer. She worked for Meals on Wheels in Seymour for 11 years, retiring in 1997. She moved with her family to Gainesville, Texas, and then to Seymour. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. A daughter, Hazel Parker, died August 1997.
Survivors include four daughters, Peggy Blankenship of Wichita Falls, and Wanda Cook, Shirley Huddleston and Nancy Robertson, all of Seymour; a son, Kenneth Boyd of Odessa; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Thomas H. Faulkner
Thomas H. Faulkner, of Garland, died Friday, April 2, 1999, in Baylor Hospital of Dallas.
Williams Funeral Home held services Tuesday, April 6, 1999. Reverend Jim Everidge and Reverend Billy Harris officiated the service at First Baptist Church of Sachse. Burial was at Sachse Cemetery.
Mr. Faulkner was born March 30, 1934, in Seguin, Texas. He and Peggy Sprowls formerly of Seymour, were married July 1, 1955 in Hobbs, New Mexico. He was retired from E-Systems and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sachse, Texas. He also was a member of the Masonic Lodge #441.
Survivors include his wife, daughters and sons-in-law; Teresa Coles of Garland, Texas, Kimberly and Donny Bordelon of Bedford, Texas, Lori and Doug White of Decatur, Texas, Diane Faulkner of Garland, Texas, brother and sister-in-law; Jimmy D. and Beryl Faulkner of Abilene, Texas, Uncle Charles Thomas and wife Judy of Alvin, Texas and Robert Coles of Garland, Texas and 8 grandchildren.
Dudley Vaughan Keith
Dudley Vaughan Keith, 72, of Mount Enterprise, Texas, died Thursday, April 22, 1999, in a Dallas hospital.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 25 at Seymour Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul T. Jhant, pastor of Bible Baptist Church in McKinney, officiating. Burial was in Round Timber Cemetery.
Mr. Keith was born May 9, 1926, in Sayre, Oklahoma. He and Mary Jane Cross were married May 9, 1949, in Amarillo, Texas. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a rancher and a boot saddle maker. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, David Lynn of Beaumont, Texas, Dudley Allan of Georgetown, Texas, and Daniel Brent of Gonzales, Texas; four brothers, Welton of Fort Worth, Lloyd of Bethany, Oklahoma, Joe of Jermyn, Texas and George of Jacksboro; and five grandchildren.
Thay Martin Cunningham
Lyddia Thay Cunningham, 83, of Abilene, died Tuesday, April 20 at a Abilene hospital.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 23, 1999, at the Southern Hills Church of Christ Chapel with John Risse officiating. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cunningham was born in Red Springs and lived in Abilene most of her life. She attended Abilene Christian University. She was the widow of C.W. Cunningham. She was a homemaker and a member of Highland Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Clifford Winston Cunningham Jr. of Wichita Falls; three daughters, Shirley Jean Cunningham of Dalton, GA., Dorothy Jo Young of Pittsfield, Mass., and Carol Ann Brabbin of Abilene; two brothers, A.B. Martin Jr. and Forrest Martin, both of Red Springs; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Grady Williams
Grady Williams, 95, of Goree, Texas, died Wednesday, March 24, 1999, in a Munday nursing home.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 27, at First United Methodist Church in Goree with Dr. Bruce Parks and the Reverend Lenard Brothers officiating. Burial was in Brushy Cemetery under the direction of McCauley-Smith Funeral Home.
Mr. Williams was born January 27, 1904, in Williamson County, Texas. He married Susie McFarland on April 29, 1961, in Abilene, Texas. He was a member of Goree First United Methodist Church. He was a former Goree City Council Member. He attended Simmons College in Abilene and graduated from Draughon's Business College in Abilene. He was a retired farmer and rancher. He moved from Williamson County to south of Goree in 1908, where he farmed and ranched until retiring.
Survivors include his wife; one sister, Bernice Rutherford of Lubbock, Texas; three grandchildren, Glynn Williams of Lewisville, Texas, Bill Williams of Euless, Texas, and Mrs. Terry (Paula) Turner of Hurst, Texas; and four great-grandchildren, John Williams of Euless, Taylor Turner, Cody Turner and Mason Turner, all of Hurst.
