Brenda Jean Golleher
Brenda Jean Golleher, 53, died Monday, June 4, 2001, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2001, in the chapel of Hampton Vaughan Crestview with Reverend Harvey McMurry, pastor of City View Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Crestview.
Brenda was born November 9, 1947, in Knox City, Texas, to Dutch and Imogene (Nunley) Young. She married David Golleher, and he preceded her in death in 1987. Mrs. Golleher was a nurse at University Park Manor for over 30 years.
Survivors include her parents Dutch and Imogene Young of Benjamin, Texas; one brother, Mike Young of Seymour; one sister, Deann Lamb and nephew, Anthony Lamb both of Benjamin.
Visitation will be held from 7-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2001, at Hampton Vaughan Crestview.

Myrtle Lee McDaniel
Myrtle Lee McDaniel, age 88, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2001, in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2001, at the First Baptist Church in Seymour, with Reverend Herman Lancaster, officiating. Interment was in the Seymour Masonic Cemtery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. McDaniel was born July 25, 1912, in Tiff City, Missouri. She married John Robert McDaniel on June 27, 1931, in Maud, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on November 20, 1998. She and John returned to Seymour in 1912, and lived here until moving to Ft. Worth in 1996. She was a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church, the Lydia Sunday School Class, Order of the Eastern Star #424, and the Goodwill Ambassadors.
She is survived by three sons and their wives, Robert Lee and Yvonne McDaniel of Wichita Falls, Texas, James Edward and Debbie McDaniel of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Johnny Ray and Peggy McDaniel of Austin, Texas; six grandsons, Clark McDaniel and his wife Linda, Rusty McDaniel and his wife Kathy, Ronald McDaniel, David McDaniel and his wife Cathleen, Joel McDaniel and Craig McDaniel; and by five great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Ashley, Annakate, Luke and Molly.
The family asks that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church, the Hospice of Wichita Falls, or the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department.
Wilma Lois Machen
Wilma Lois Machen, age 88, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away Saturday June 16, 2001. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 19, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Brownfield, TX, with Reverend Randy Land officiating. Interment was at the Terry County Memorial Cemetery in Brownfield, Texas under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Mrs. Machen was born in Wilbarger County, Texas on April 20, 1913. She was raised and attended school in Seymour, Texas. She married Sid Machen, January 21, 1933, in Frederick, OK, They moved to Brownfield in 1946. She was employed by Collins Dept. Store from 1947 until retiring in 1989. She moved to Lubbock in 1994 and was a Member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Sid Machen of Lubbock, TX; daughter JoAnne Granbery of Lubbock, TX; two granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Irene Trook of Amarillo, TX and Ernestine Barker of Mangum, OK.
Charles Yost
Charles Yost, respected area business man, cherished husband, honored father, and longtime friend to the community passed away on Monday, May 21, 2001. Services for Mr. Yost were held Wednesday, May 23, 2001 at the Munday Church of Christ at 11:00 a.m. Marshal Coffey served as Minister with Randy Gressett assisting. Interment took place in Johnson Memorial Cemetery in Munday with McCauley-Smith Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Yost was born on the Yost family farm west of Munday, Texas on June 2, 1936. He lived his entire life in the Munday area. He married Gay Mobley on August 11, 1967 in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by a daughter, LeAnna Camille, in 1979. Charles will be missed every day by those who are left to continue his legacy - his wife, Gay, his children Tracee Herring, Russell Routon, Randy Routon, and Chad Yost and his grandchildren Kristin and Kippin Herring, DeNae, LeighAnna and Taylor Routon, and Shane and Mandi Routon.
Other survivors include two sisters, Tommie Raynes and Phyllis Dunn, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Charles� life was one of quiet, steady successes built on every day routines of living where he applied Christian principles to his marriage, his parenting, and his work life. Charles was married to Gay for almost 34 years. Charles and Gay built a happy home that modeled the way life should be lived to their four children. Because of Charles' steady guidance and unwavering support, all four children are successfully applying the lessons he taught them in the raising of their families and the way they approach life. The music, songs, and funny stories generated through a life of fun and hard work will be passed along for years to come.
Charles' life touched almost everything in Knox, Baylor, and Haskell counties and beyond as his work brought him into most of our homes at one time or another. Charles will be fondly remembered for his consistent contributions to the community he loved.
Serving as pallbearers were Byron Gass, Don Bunton, Don Awalt, M.M. Booe, Ken Patterson, Doug Parker, George Oustad, and Mark Warren.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Johnson Memorial Cemetery Fund or Charles' favorite charity, the West Texas Boys Ranch in San Angelo, Texas.
Auborn Gerald Howard
Auborn Gerald Howard, 89, a former Seymour resident, died Sunday, June 17, 2001 in Montrose, Colorado. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 21, at the First Baptist Church in Gunnison, Colorado, with interment in the Lake City, Colorado cemetery .
Howard was born April 4, 1912, in Montague County, Texas. The eldest surviving son of Walter L. and Laura Hill Howard, he spent his childhood in Nocona and moved with his family to Seymour in the early 1920's, when Mr. and Mrs. Howard took over the maintenance of the Seymour Park and swimming pool. He graduated from Seymour High School, where he was an athlete and friend to all. He and his siblings were well known for their swimming abilities and their friendly personalities.
Howard moved to Colorado as a young man and married Ruth Hoffman. They lived in the Gunnison-Lake City area the remainder of his life. His last years were spent in the Gunnison Valley Nursing Home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Cornelia Howard Longley of Wichita Falls, and two brothers, W.L. Howard, Jr. of San Antonio and Weaver Howard of Cottonwood, Arizona.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth, of Montrose, CO; three daughters, Elinor Swanson of Bremerton, WA; Marian Hall of Lake City, CO; and Eunice Clayton of Greenville, SC; two sisters, Leela Howard Collier of Westview Care Center in Seymour and Poca Eunice Rigg of Las Vegas, NV; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Eula Belle Bartos Kocurek
Eula Belle Bartos Kocurek, age 96, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2001, in Seymour. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at the Seymour Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Edward C. Hart officiating. Interment was in the SPJST Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kocurek was born October 25, 1904, in Louise, Wharton County, Texas. To Czechoslovakian Immigrants, Maria Sembera and Simon Bartos, who moved to Bomarton in 1910. Eula attented the Corn School. On December 28, 1926 she married Josef Frank Kocurek in Bomarton, Texas and they farmed in the Ogden Community for 54 years. They moved to Seymour in 1980. Joe passed away August 1, 1985.
Mrs. Kocurek was a member of the SPJST and RVOS, and the Ogden Home Demonstration Club. She won numerous prizes for her canned fruits, vegetables and crafts.
She is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Peggy Joe and Billy Suggs of Bethany, Oklahoma, Mary Joreen and James Ludeke of Burkburnett, Texas, Helen Jane and Don Mobley of Seymour, Texas; a son and his wife, Joe Eric and Betty Kocurek of Burkburnett, Texas; a sister, Albina Macha of Lubbock, Texas; by fifteen grandchildren, Ulana Strutz, A. Kim Ludeke, Max Ludeke, John Ludeke, Amy Dreimiller, Larisa Ludeke, Donna Crowell, Paul Mobley, Hilarie Bramwell, Clay Mobley, Carly Kocurek, Alex Kocurek, Deborah Bartlett, Kenneth Suggs, John Suggs; by 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by six sisters, Mary Walla, Ludmilla Zavodny, Dolfa Macha, Emma Fojtik, Bessie Franek and Vlasta Simek; and by four brothers, William 'Bill' Bartos, Adolf Bartos, Milton Bartos and Bedrick Bartos.
The family asks that memorials be made to the Baylor County E.M.S. or the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department.
Neal Ward Jameson
Neal Ward Jameson, Sr. age 87, passed away Monday, June 25, 2001, in Plano, Texas. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2001, at the Seymour Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Glenn Shock, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment was in the Seymour Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Jameson was born November 3, 1913, in Evanston, Illinois, the son of Edward A. and Emma Halvorsen Jameson. He attended Ball State College in Angola, Indiana. He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a glider pilot. Neal completed his glider flight training at the Laurenberg/Maxton Air Force Base. Lurenberg, North Carolina. Soon after receiving his glider pilot wings on September 17, 1944, he was sent to the European Theatre of war.
Neal was awarded the Bronze Star for Meritorious Achievement in action during the period of March 24-25, 1945, for action near Wesel, Germany.
He married Dorothea L. Blankenship of Seymour, Texas, on September 18, 1944, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After the war in Europe and Japan, Neal worked as a manufacturer's representative. Later he formed his own independent oil and gas production company in Winfield, Kansas, and remained active in the petroleum business until his retirement in 1933. He was a member of the Highland Park Presbyterian Church, and the Richardson Rotary Club.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothea Jameson of Richardson, Texas; a daughter, Patricia Ann Rezaie of Houston, Texas, a daughter, Shirley Elaine O'Connell of Richardson, Texas, and a son, Neal Ward Jameson, Jr. of Richardson, Texas; and by four grandchildren, Tracy Michelle Beeson, Neal Ward Jameson III, Kenneth Ward Jameson and Ryan Matthew O'Connell.
Robert Edwin Hamby
Robert Edwin Hamby, age 70, of Texarkana, Texas, died June 12, 2001, at his residence.
Mr. Hamby was born Decemer 24, 1930, in the Round Timber Community, Baylor County, Texas. He was a retired employee of Chapman Construction Company. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran of the Korean conflict, and a member of the American Legion. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dudley Hamby and Jim Hamby; a sister, Chlora Quinton; and a grandson, Cole Hamby.
Survivors include his wife, LuAn Taylor Hamby of Texarkana, Texas; two daughters and son-in-laws, Belinda and Richard Thompson of Texarkana, Texas, and Genese and Bobby Smith of Franklin, Texas; three sons and daughter-in-laws, Taylor and Ginger Cade of Valleyview, Texas, Ken and Dana Hamby of Chandler, Texas, and Dudley and Brenda Hamby of Texarkana, Texas; 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2001, at the Masonic Cemetery in Seymour, Texas, with the Reverend Richard Thompson and the Reverend Glenn Shock officiating. Services are under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
A luncheon for the family will be at 12:00 noon Saturday, July 14, 2001, at the First Baptist Church in Seymour.
