Nadine Glaze
Nadine Glaze, age 83, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2001 in Hospice of Wichita Falls. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2001, at the Seymour Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Glenn Shock, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment was in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Glaze was born January 20, 1918, in Mineral Wells, Texas, to Felix and Ida Jane Wilson Mayers. She married Earl Howard Glaze on April 3, 1941 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He preceded her in death on February 11, 1999. Mrs. Glaze was a babysitter for many years.
She is survived by three sons, Elton Glaze of Seymour, Texas, Sterling Glaze of Lubbock, Texas, and Ronald Glaze of Wichita Falls, Texas; by three sisters, Delecena Jones of Springtown, Texas, Golda Hardwick of Grand Saline, Texas, and Alease Petty of Seymour, Texas; by ten grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
The family asks that memorials be made to the Hospice of Wichita Falls, P.O. Box 4804, Wichita Falls, Texas 76308.

Fannie Morrow Chitty Gilbert
Fannie Morrow Chitty Gilbert, age 92, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2001, in Seymour. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at the Seymour Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Marvin Griffin, minister of the First Christian Church in Seymour officiating. Interment was in the Benjamin Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gilbert was born December 18, 1908, in Collin County, Texas. She married her beloved husband, Dolphus Victor Gilbert, ”Bitter Creek” on December 24, 1942. He preceded her in death on August 6, 1966.
She is survived by two daughters, Nan Gilbert Mathis and her husband, Harmen of Seymour, and Judy Sue Gilbert Glaze and her husband, Ron of Wichita Falls, by three granddaughters, Stephanie Robin Decker of Wichita Falls, Kandy Annette Atnip and her husband Danny of Seymour and Sherrie Dawn Berend and her husband, Al of Wichita Falls. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Justin Wayne James, Kolten Rance Atnip, and Marie Nicole Berend. and by one niece, Pasty Bradshaw and her husband, Jimmy of Richardson, Texas.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Seymour School Foundation.

Richard Stanley “Sonny” Powell
Richard Stanley “Sonny” Powell, age 74, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2001 in Seymour.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday the 8th at the Seymour Memorial Funeral Home Chapel and were officiated by A.B. Martin. Burial was in the Woodmen of the World Cemetery.
Richard S. Powell was born June 26, 1927 in Red Springs, Texas and grew up on his parents' farm. Richard joined the U.S. Navy and served two years in the Pacific aboard the fleet oiler the USS Neches. After WWII, he returned home to Red Springs in 1947.
On April 2, 1951, he and Loretta Elizabeth Malone were married in Seymour. They moved to and lived on the Texas South Plains for forty-six years. Living first in Brownfield, Richard worked in the oil field as an engineer’s assistant. Richard moved to Lubbock and operated a service station business, then tool dealership, and finally retired from glass sales in 1997. The couple returned to Seymour in 1999 and this year celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary. Richard was a creative and resourceful person and completed many home/shop improvement projects during his life. He enjoyed Baylor County and surrounding areas for dove, quail, and deer hunting.
Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Eula Powell; and infant son, Richard Lee Powell in 1959.
He is survived by his wife Loretta; son Randall of Allen, Texas; sister Nellie Zachry of Pittsburg, Texas; and brother Bill Powell of Bullard, Texas.
Pallbearers were: Jim Black, John Brooks, Richard Cox, Hershall Hatter, R.E. Massey, Wayne Moore.

Agnes J. Kovar
Funeral services for Agnes J. Kovar, 85, of Richmond, will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2001 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Seymour, Texas. Interment will follow at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Bomarton, Texas. Father Richard Eldredge will officiate the services.
There was a Christian wake service Wednesday, August 8, 2001 at 7 p.m. at Archer Funeral Home in Seymour, Texas.
Agnes was born May 9, 1916 in Megargel, Texas to Joseph F. Cernosek and Aloisia A. Balcar Cernosek. She passed away August 5, 2001 in Houston.
She is survived by a daughter, Inez M. Ewart and her husband, William, of Corpus Christi; two sons, Wayne A. Kovar and his wife, Sarah, of Rosenberg, and Albin Kovar and his wife, Flory, of Bellville; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Kovar of Rosenberg; two sisters, Ann Shimeck of Lubbock and Martha Shelley of Olney; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albin J. Kovar, sons, David and Donald M. Kovar and a infant daughter.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd., Rosenberg, Texas 77471.

J.E. Brown
J.E. Brown, age 84, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2001, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m Saturday, August 4, 2001, at the Seymour Church of Christ with A.B. Martin officiating. Interment was in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Brown was born July 13, 1917 in Baylor County, Texas to Frank and Lulabelle Hunt Brown, and was a lifelong resident of Baylor County. He married Alma Nix on January 24, 1942 in Seymour, Texas. She preceded him in death on August 26, 1992. He then married Viola Casey on February 14, 1993 in Seymour. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and a member of the Church of Christ. He was a tractor mechanic for Wesley Harrison and Moody Johnson, and had farmed since the early 1960s.
He is survived by his wife, Viola of Seymour, Texas; by two sons, Ron Brown of Burkburnett, Texas, and Wayne Brown of McKinney, Texas; by three sisters, Glenna Mills of Houston, Texas, Jane Laxson of Franklin, Texas, and Louise Ridgeway of Dallas, Texas; by one brother, Foster Brown of Young County, Texas; by four grandchildren, Melissa Brown, Christina Rippentrop, Joy Ringwood and Daniel Brown; and by four great grandchildren, Marissa Ringwood, McKenzie Ringwood, Justin Rippentrop and Carson Rippentrop.
J.E. is also survived by Viola’s children, Barbara Cook and Sharon Heim, both of Seymour, Texas, Jimmy Wooten of Weatherford, Texas, and Ricky Wooten of Fort Worth, Texas, 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Rose Nell Biggerstaff
Rose Nell Biggerstaff, 79, died Wednesday, August 1, 2001, in Wichita Falls.
Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 3, 2001, in the chapel of Hampton Vaughan Crestview. Interment followed in Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Crestview.
A longtime resident of Wichita Falls, Rose Nell was born August 24, 1921, in Ferris, Texas, to the late James Wicker and Lola Smith. She married W.W. Biggerstaff, and he preceded her in death. A homemaker, Mrs. Biggerstaff was a Methodist.
Survivors include her sons Roy McClung, Jr. of Seymour and Bill McClung of Georgetown; daughters Linda Morris of Lakeside City and Karla Perez of Richardson; brother Wayne Smith of May Pearl; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
For those desiring, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to your favorite charity.

Myrtle L. Railsback Brown
Myrtle L. Railsback Brown, age 88, left this earthly life to join her husband, Raymond Brown, in their heavenly home on Friday, August 10, 2001.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 13, 2001, at the First United Methodist Church in Seymour, Texas, with Rev. Larry Crumpton, pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brown was born February 27, 1913, in Denison, Texas, the daughter of James Martin and Nettie May Railsback. She married Raymond Brown on December 19, 1931, in Munday, Texas, and four children were born to this union. She was a loving housewife and a devoted mother. Mrs. Brown was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Seymour.
Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Raydean Damon of Crawford, Texas, Evelyn Bailes of Jacksonville, Texas and Ruth and Larry Shook of Arlington, Texas; one son, Robert Brown of Seymour; two sisters, Pearl Carter and Ruby Crawford of Seymour; 10 grandchildren, Cindy Damon and Jamie Burgess of Crawford, Trey Godfrey of Sachse, Texas, Tami Stinger of Corinth, Texas, Tara Welch of Cedar Park, Texas, Jay Bailes of Jacksonville, Texas, Jan Del Toro of Grapevine, Neal Brown of Lampasas, Lisa Wilson of Amarillo, Texas and Stephanie Vinton of Las Vegas, Nevada; 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; a host of nieces and nephews, and countless treasured friends.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers, Charlie and Floyd Railsback; two sisters, Artie Peek and Edna Everett; a granddaughter, Teresa Beckner; and an infant great-grandson, Joseph Joshua Beckner.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers included members of the Escalator Class and Methodist Men including Robert Patterson, Rea Carter, Gene Robinson, Richard Cox, Frank Simaichl and Harry Meetze.
Mrs. Brown was an exceptional lady who lovingly supported her husband for 68 years, provided devotion and security to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews and friends until her passing. Her last request was the she be able to tell everyone of her family and friends that she loved them. Mrs. Brown’s faith and trust in God sustained and comforted her during her illness. She will remain a shining example to us all.
The family requests that memorial be made to the First United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.

Ludvik Ignis Hons
Ludvik Ignis Hons, age 73, of Wichita Falls, died Tuesday, August 14, 2001. A Christian Wake was held Thursday, August 16, 2001 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Seymour. Funeral Mass was held Friday, August 17, 2001 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiated by Reverend Richard Eldredge. Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery, Seymour, Texas under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Mr. Hons was born February 9, 1928 in Baylor County, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army in 1951 and 52. He and Jean Laughlin were married February 9, 1953 in Wichita Fall, Texas. Mr. Hons had lived in Wichita Falls since 1953 where he worked as a construction supervisor for Lone Star Gas Company for 42 years. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and KJT.
He is survived by: his wife, Jean Hons of Wichita Falls, Texas; daughter, Angela Hons of Wichita Falls; three sons, Ron Hons of Arlington, Texas, Louis Hons of Palm Springs, California and Richard Hons of Wichita Falls; Brother Rudy Hons of Seymour, Texas; three grandsons, Everett, Noland and Cameron. He was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Eugene.
If desiring, the family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
