Christopher Alan Rusch
Christopher Alan Rusch, age 18, of Odessa, Texas, passed away October 3, 2001 in Odessa, Texas. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 6, 2001, at the Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Chapel, with Pastor Dewey Blevins officiating. Graveside services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the S.P.J.S.T. Cemetery in Seymour, with Friar Richard Eldredge officiating. Interment was in the S.P.J.S.T. Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Rusch was born January 11, 1983, in Odessa, Texas. He was a high school student and a member of the Catholic Church.
He is survived by his parents, Craig and Janet Pavliska Rusch of Odessa, Texas; three brothers, Jason, Jonathan and Brett Rusch, all of Odessa, Texas; and his grandmother, Verna Rusch of Appleton, Wisconsin
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Henrietta Pavliska; by a grandfather, Roy Rusch; and by a brother, Bryan Rusch.
Floy A. McLemore
Floy A. McLemore, age 88, of Georgetown, passed away Monday, September 24, 2001. She was born August 18, 1913, to parents Martin Henry Roe and Mary Elizabeth Hurst in Comanche, Texas.
Mrs. McLemore married Felix Durward (Boots) McLemore on July 15, 1932, in Altus, Oklahoma. In her earlier years, she worked for Allen Post and JC Penney Department stores. From 1942 to 1944, she and her husband owned and operated McLemore Grocery on 19th Street in Austin. Then she went to work for the Texas Highway Department where she retired in 1970 after many years of service. She was an active member of the Crestview Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Felix Durward (Boots) McLemore; son Linford McLemore; and a great-granddaughter, Abbey McLemore.
She is survived by three sons, Felix McLemore Jr. and his wife, Mildred of Houston, Ted McLemore and his wife, Donna of Hutto, Charles McLemore and his wife, Vangie of Austin; three brothers, Elzo Roe of Seymour, Texas, Gerald Roe of Portland, Oregon, Wayne Roe of Kerrville, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, September 26, 2001, in the chapel of Cook Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown with Reverend Dan Woodridge, Pastor of the Crestview Baptist Church in Georgetown, officiating.
Interment was at Cook-Walden Captial Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville. Her grandsons served as pallbearers.
In place of usual remembrances, the family suggests memorial contributions to Crestview Baptist Church, 2300 Williams Drive, Georgetown 78628.
Naomi Lois Kinman
Naomi Lois Kinman, age 90, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2001 at the Seymour Hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday, October 11, 2001, at 2 p.m. at the Church of Christ. A.B. Martin and Dick Norman officiated. Burial was in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home, Seymour, Texas.
Naomi Lois Kinman was born June 3, 1911 in Jones County, Texas. She and Wesley Kinman were married May 9, 1936 in Haskell, Texas. Naomi worked as a cook in the school cafeteria in Rule for four years and then at Goree for 19 years. She moved to Seymour in 1969. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by: Husband, Wesley Kinman of Seymour, Texas; two sons; Charles Don Kinman and wife, Linda of Lubbock, Texas and Gerald Eugene Kinman and wife, Nancy of Keller, Texas; two granchildren, Jefferson Don Kinman and wife, Lois and Dennis John Kinman and wife, Stacy; one great-grandchild, Jacob Kinman and one step great-grandchild, Ben Pena.
Dora Fay Wharton Etter
Dora Fay Wharton Etter, age 95, of Crowell, Texas, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2001, at her residence. Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2001, at the Margaret Methodist Church in the Margaret Community in Foard County, with Reverend Steve Brooks, pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Crowell Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Etter was a caregiver for the elderly.
She is survived by one son, Cliff Wharton of Vernon, Texas; by three daughters, Icyphene Blackburn of Crowell, Texas, Dorothy Jeffrey of Pampa, Texas, and Sharon Shultz of Arlington, Texas; by five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Linda Gayle Blankenship
Linda Gayle Blankenship, age 59, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2001, in Olney, Texas. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2001, at the Seymour Church of Christ with Bud Branson and A.B. Martin officiating. Interment was in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Miss Blankenship was born November 14, 1941, in Seymour, Texas, and had been a lifelong resident. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by a sister, Thelma Bailey of Seymour, Texas; by a sister and her husband, Faye and Harold Stewart of Olney, Texas; by a brother and his wife, Thelbert and Peggy Blankenship of Wichita Falls, Texas; by two sisters-in-law, Aurelia Blankenship of Fort Worth, Texas, and Cleo Blankenship of Seymour, Texas; by eight nieces and nephews, and by numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Major Goree and Leona Blankenship; by three brothers, Van Earl Blankenship, William Muriel Blankenship and M.G. “Junior” Blankenship; and by a brother-in-law, Bruce Bailey.
Ellie V. Brom
Ellie V. Brom, age 88, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2001, at “Just Like Home” in Seymour, Texas. Christian Wake services were held at 7 p.m. Friday, October 19, 2001, at the Seymour Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass was said at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2001, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Friar Richard Eldredge, Pastor officiating. Interment was in the Megargel Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Ellie Violet Newsome was born November 27, 1912, to Robert (Bob) and Ella (Blair) Newsome, near Marquez, in Leon County, Texas. Her mother died in childbirth, and her father took her at one week of age to his sister, Lee (Newsome) Blankenship, and her husband, J.P. (Pat) Blankenship in Baylor County, Texas. She was adopted into the family of Pat Blankenship and was loved as one of their own children.
Ellie attended school at Hashknife, B.Y. and other small schools in the Round Timber-Westover area of Baylor County. She graduated from Westover High School in 1933.
On October 3, 1933, she married Adolph Brom in Megargel, Texas. He preceded her in death on September 13, 1981. Ellie and Adolph farmed their place southwest of Westover all their life, and she was a full partner in all they did, helping in every area of the farm work. After her husband's death, Ellie moved to Seymour where she lived until her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Raymond Newsome, Margaret Mitchell and Lois Edwards; by her adopted parents, J.P. and Martha Lee Blankenship; by her adopted siblings, Lawrence Blankenship, Minnie Bench, Bessie Tucker, Albert Blankenship and Ross Blankenship.
She is survived by one sister, Geraldean Goldstein of Dallas, Texas; by one brother-in-law, Jim Brom of Megargel, Texas; and by her nieces and nephews, Billy Bench of Plainview, Texas, Ann Smith of Winnsboro, Texas, Pat Blankenship of Adrian, Texas, Jerry Tucker of Wichita Falls, Texas, Beth Dortch of Morse, Texas, Sonny Blankenship of Morse, Texas, Eschol Blankenship of Spearman, Texas, John Michael Blankenship of Amarillo, Texas,Efton Edwards of Arlington, Texas, Dr. Mike Goldstein of Dallas, Texas, and Pat Newsome of Corsicana, Texas.

Nathalene ‘Nat’ Scott
Nathalene ‘Nat’ Scott, age 90, passed away Tuesday October 23, 2001, at the local hospital. Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2001, at the Riverview Cemetery in Seymour, with the Reverend Larry Crumpton, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Services were under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Scott was born April 13, 1911, in Arkansas. She married John B. Scott in June of 1931 in Seymour, Texas. He preceded her in death on January 7, 1983. She was a secretary for many years for West Texas Utilities in Munday, Texas. She and Mr. Scott had lived in Seymour, Munday, Spur and Memphis, prior to her moving back to Seymour in 1983. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Escalator Sunday School Class and the Goodwill Ambassadors.
She is survived by two sons, J.D. Scott of Depew, Okla., and Jerry W. Scott of Seymour, Texas; by three sisters, Bea Nix, Ula Mayers and Nelda Taylor, all of Seymour, Texas; by four grandchildren, Darla Babb, Valarie Flournoy, Dwayne Scott and Victor Scott; by six great-grandchildren, Derek Babb, Zachery Babb, Amanda Flournoy, Gody Scott, Samantha Scott and Eli Flournoy; and by two great-great-grandchildren.
Alice Ruth Crawford
Alice Ruth Crawford, age 84, passed away Friday, November 2, 2001, in the local nursing home. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2001 at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Larry Crumpton, pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Crawford was born December 8, 1916, in King County, Texas, to Jessie James and May Pearl Rundell Moore. She married Banty Frank Crawford on September 16, 1933 in Vera, Texas. He preceded her in death on September 25, 1982. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Edythe Ann Adkins of Decatur, Texas; by three sons, James Crawford of Seymour, Texas, Gerald Glen Crawford of Stamford, Texas, and Jack Marlin Crawford of Westmoreland, California; by a brother, Sammie Moore of Ventura, California; by 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Frankie June Guynes; by two grandchildren, Debra Lynn Crawford and Kimberly Ann Crawford; and by a great-grandson, Charles Harvey.
Nora Branson Wheeler
Nora Branson Wheeler born December 17, 1909 passed away Saturday, November 10, 2001. She was proceded in death by her husband, Winnett Orvil Wheeler in 1985. They were married on September 10, 1929 in Santo, Texas.
She was instrumental in the lives of her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After coming to live with her daughter in 1987, she was a major participant in the lives of her great-grandchildren. She always said they just get grander and grander. Her devotion to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and being a major part of their lives made her twilight years especially joyful.
Survived by daughter, Betty Allen, of Farmers Branch, three grandchildren, Danny Allen and wife Cathy of Dallas, Lee Allen of Dallas, Janet Allen Wilson of North Richland Hills. Three great-great-grandchildren, Matthew Wilson, Amanda Allen and Sarah Allen and one sister, Lena Johnson, of Santo, Texas and many nieces and nephews that were dear to her heart.
Services were held Tuesday, November 13, 2001 in Santo, Texas.
