WILLIAM COLEMAN BARKER
William Coleman “Cole” Barker was born Dec. 12, 1984, in Corpus Christi to Doug and Dora Barker.
Cole was taken from his family and friends to be with the Lord Saturday, May 3, 2003. He was 18.
Visitation was held at Crofts Funeral Home Tuesday, May 6, and Wednesday, May 7 between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church Thursday, May 8, at 2 p.m. Officiating clergy will be Pastor Anamae Storbeck.
Cole will be laid to rest in the Blanco Cemetery located on Spur 163.
Cole is survived by his parents Doug and Dora Barker, sisters Tessa Barker and Elissa Barker, and niece Jasmin Barker, all of Blanco.
Pallbearers are Hunter Wallace, Zachary Keezer, Laird Frantzen, Justin Fortenberry, Anthony Devere and Joe Dan De la Rosa.
A Rosary will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Crofts Funeral Home with deacon Jack Murrell officiating.
Cole will be dearly missed not only by his family but also by his friends and classmates at Blanco High School.
Homer Hoffman
Homer Hoffman 85, of Vilonia died Wednesday. He was born in Blanco to the late J.H. and Caroline Einkauf Hoffman. He was retired from Kroger, a Marine veteran of WWII, member of the Arkansas Old Time Fiddlers Association and a member of the University Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Alta Smith Hoffman, three daughters, Connie Bolton, of Vilonia, Doris Hutchins of Conway and Nancy Hoffman of Morrilton, sister Ima Smith of Blanco, and four grandchildren, Leticia Hutchins of Conway, Jeremy Hutchins of Portland, OR, Sarah Bolton and Rebekah Bolton both of Vilonia. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Maude Finch and Leona Hoffman.
Services were Saturday in the Chapel of Roller-McNutt Conway with burial in Vilonia. Lendal Bolin and Harold Thomas officiated.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cottonwood Place 610 W. Church St. Morrilton 72110 or Faulkner County Workforce 1700 S. Blvd. Conway 72034.
Pallbearers were Roy Finch, Shelton “Jack” Smith, Pat Griffith, Bruce Hendricks, Todd Pearce and Danny Bittle.
Honorary pallbearers were John Becton, Charlie Hicks, Harold Brady, Bill Bell and Cecil Boothe.
DORA MARLER
Dora Marler was born in San Saba Feb. 26, 1925, and passed away Sunday, May 4, 2003 in Fredericksburg.
Dora is survived by one son, Roy Marler of Fredericksburg; two daughters, Judy Gibson and Frankie Odell, both of Johnson City; one brother, Taylor Hamrick of San Saba, and two sisters, Vivian McCall of San Saba and Janie Sanford of Copperas Cove. She is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Dora went to be with the Lord at the age of 78. She was laid to rest in the Harris Cemetery in San Saba. Graveside services were also held at the cemetery Tuesday, May 6.
BASIL CHARLES QUICK
Basil Charles Quick was born Dec. 27, 1907, in Tawas City, Michigan, and passed away May 4, 2003, in San Antonio.
Basil was a long-time resident of Blanco.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth and daughter Nancy Quick.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law Nola and Jack Lantz of Saginaw, Michigan, and son Daniel Basil Quick and wife Toni Martinazzi, also from Michigan; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; niece Susy Murrah and husband Tom of Blanco; nephew Ard Richardson and wife Karen of Pipe Creek; and other nieces and nephews in Florida.
Basil will be laid to rest in Tawas, Michigan.
GLENDA MARLENE SURBER
Glenda Marlene Surber, 62, of Leakey went to be with the Lord April 29, 2003, after years of battling cancer. She was born January 27, 1941.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Prentiss Stapelton of Leakey and father-in-law, William E. Surber of Blanco.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, William (Bill) G. Surber of Leakey; two daughters, Dobie Lynn Pressler and dear friend and partner, Barry Collins of Kerrville and Dana Jo Brannie and husband Ken of New Braunfels; four grandchildren, Kristopher and Kyle Pressler of Comfort, Collin and Lexie Bennett of New Braunfels and extended family, Quint and Karlie Collins of Marble Falls.
She leaves behind mother-in-law Bealuh Surber of Blanco, sister Joyce Springer and husband Bill of San Antonio and brother Jerry Stapelton and wife Arlene of Blanco; three brother-in-laws (Bud) Suber and wife Margie of Alice, Herbert (Herb) Surber and wife Dottie of Marfa, Charles Surber and wife Susan of Burnet, and one sister-in-law Wilbanks Evelyn (Sis) Hineline and huband Arthur of Blanco; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Services were held Friday, May 2, at the Nelson Funeral Home in Leakey with interment in the Leakey Floral Cemetery. Officiating the service was Rev. Bobby Burris of Leakey.
Serving as pallbearers were Scott Springer, Dean Chambers,Buddy Surper, Clint Surber, Tim Caldwell and Ronnie Edmondson.
Honorary pallbearers included her grandchildren and extended family, Kristoher Pressler, Kyle Pressler, Collin Bennett, Lexie Bennett, Quint Collins and Karlie Collins.
LOIS JEAN KRUEGER PAGE
On Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, Lois Jean Krueger Page died peacefully with family at her side at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. She was born July 15, 1934, in New Braunfels to Elo and Rose Krueger.
Her prayers, love, devotion, and dedication have been an example to all who knew her. She will remain in our hearts forever. Oh yes, and that smile, that warm, wonderful smile.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Glenn Edward Page of Blanco; daughter Nancy Matthews and her husband Glenn of San Antonio; and son Darren Page and his wife Janita of Spicewood; grandchildren Glenn and Andrew Matthews, and Cory and Travis Page; sister Rita Reiner and her husband Fielding of Cypress Mill; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Egon and Nina Artzt of Spring Branch; nephew Stacey Reiner and his wife Diane of Sonora and children Trent and Kylie; nephew Bradley Reiner and his wife Jana of Buda and children Aubrey and Blaine; numerous friends and family members who were all very special to her.
We would like everyone to know that this is not a notice of Lois’ death, yet a public declaration of her life. She brought to everyone around her a joy of life and comfort with her love for all she met and came to know. We are all better for having known her and wish her eternal happiness in the house of the Lord.
Visitation was Friday, Oct. 3, at Crofts Funeral Home in Blanco. Services were held Saturday, Oct. 4, at Crofts Funeral Home.

MARY ANNE DAUGHDRIL
Mary Ann Daughdril was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, April 16, 1933, and passed away Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2003, in Johnson City, Texas at the age of 70.
Mary is survived by her husband, Robert Lane Duaghdril of Johnson City; three sons, Robert E. Daughdrill of Sulfur, LA, Ben Daughdril of The Woodlands, and Brian Daughdril of Lake Charles, LA.
She is also survived by her brother-in-law Harold and sister -in-law Elizabeth Dough of Conroe as well as seven grandchildren.
No services are scheduled to be held at this time.
