WITTKOHL
Harvey Felix Wittkohl, 75, of Johnson City passed away Sunday, December 9, 2001 at Kerrville. He was born July 5, 1926 at Doss, TX.
Services were held Thursday, December 13, 2001 at Crofts Funeral Home with Rev. Ernest Topper officiating. Interment followed at the Masonic Cemetery in Johnson City.
Mr. Wittkohl is preceded in death by his son Hank Williams Wittkohl
Harvey is survived by his wife, Alice Wittkohl, two daughters; Leilani Wittkohl of Pflugerville, Sherry Alice Bain of Rockdale, one brother; Otford Wittkohl of Johnson City, two sisters; Dottie Lorenz of Johnson City, Lisa Moehele of Willow City, 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Billy Wittkohl, Douglas Lorenz, Roland Lorenz, Doyle Wittkohl, Carlos Wittkohl and Larry Gibson
ZERCHER
Gilbert Walter Zercher, known as “PoPo”, passed away December 14, 2001 at the age of 93 in Blanco. He was born February 19, 1908 in San Antonio to Adolph Zercher, father, and Alvina Kreger, mother.
He is survived by his wife, Paula “Emmie” Zercher of Blanco, two sons; Roger Zercher of Blanco, Leroy Zercher, of Greenville, S.C., daughter; Laverne Piehl of Houston, two sisters; Vera Hilbert of San Antonio, Edna Elbel of New Braunfels, 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, December 17, 2001 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blanco with Pastor Anamae Storeck officiating. Interment was in the Blanco Cemetery.
Pallbearers were his great grandsons: Vernon Piehl, Jordon Piehl, Clayton Zercher, Craig Gourley, Randolph Doyer and Roger Zercher.
spencer
Jeremy Spencer, 18, of Baird passed away December 9, 2001 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene as the result of injuries from as auto accident on I-20 west of Baird. A memorial service was held December 12, 2001 at the Trinity Community Church in Clyde. Pastor Brandon Honeycutt officiated directed by Parker Funeral Home. Burial was in Clyde Cemetery.
Jeremy was born August 6, 1983 in Eastland to Jeffrey Brooks Spencer and Robin Brooks Easley. Jeremy attended Baird High School and was voted the most popular student for the year 2000. He was employed by the family business, Kelley Plumbing Co. of Baird. Jeremy’s many talents include: music, poetry, song writing and computer skills. He also had a talent for making people laugh. Jeremy loved rock climbing and rappelling and scuba diving.
Survivors include his mother, Robin E. Easley of Blanco; father, Jeffrey Brooks Spencer of Baird; three brothers, Dusty and Ryan W. Spencer of Baird, Lucas B. Spencer of California; two sisters, Lindsey B. Spencer of California, Chelsea R. Spencer of Baird; maternal grandparents, Ruth Easley of Blanco, Ron Easley of Florida; paternal grandparents, Jan and Connie Nellos of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and great-grandparents, James and Betty Kelley of Baird.

BEHRENDS
Jessica Suzanne Behrends, age 17, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2001, in Comal County. Jessica was born August 29, 1984 in San Antonio.
Services were held Monday, December 10, 2001 at the First Baptist Church in Blanco.
Jessica is survived by her parents, Dr. David Behrends and Julie Behrends-Jones, and their respective spouses, Beverly Behrends and Dr. Jack Jones, all of Blanco. Grandparents; Darlene Behrends, of Fredericksburg, Judy and Carl Mangold of San Antonio, and Bill and Jo Sherrill of San Antonio. Great grandparents; Reinhardt Behrends of Fredericksburg and Ruth Weston, of San Antonio. Jessica is also survived by one brother; Davey Behrends and one sister; Tina Behrends both of Blanco.
Memorials may be given to the Scholarship fund in Jessica’s name.
FRUMP
John K. Frump passed away Thurs, November 29, 2001 in Austin. He was born in Germany on December 12, 1956.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Arlene Frump, and his beloved pets, Sauron and Scimitar. He is survived by two sisters, Debbie and husband, Frank Mergele of Blanco, Linda Slattery of Oregon, and two nieces, Arna and Emily Mergele.
A memorial service will be held Friday, December 7, 2001 at 10a.m at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blanco.
CASPARIS
Johney Ira Casparis, 70, of Johnson City passed away Monday, April 9, 2001 in Austin.
Mrs. Casparis was born October 18, 1930 in San Antonio to her parents, John Ira and Linnie Mae Mayfield Lackey.
Johney is survived by her husband; Joe Douglas Casparis, one sister; Margaret Withers, both of Johnson City and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 12, 2001 at Crofts Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Biggerstaff officiating. Interment followed at the Masonic Cemetery in Johnson City.
Mrs. Casparis’ nieces and nephews were her pallbearers.
Davis
Ernest Ray Davis, Jr., of Blanco passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at the age of 48. Ernest was born on February 4, 1953 in San Antonio.
Funeral services were held at Crofts Funeral Home on Thursday, April 12, 2001. Graveside services were held in San Antonio Friday, April 13, 2001 in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife; Marylin J. Davis of Blanco, father; Ernest Ray Davis Sr. of San Antonio, three sons; Ernie Davis III of Houston, Nicholas Davis of Blanco, Jason Davis of Blanco, three brothers; Dorrance Davis of Atlanta, Ga., Steve Davis of Bastrop, and Jim Gross of Mansfield.
Trachta
Thomas August Trachta passed away Sunday, April 15, 2001 at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Anna Trachta, by his first wife Doris Raymond, two brothers Raymond and Harold, two sisters Marie and Dorothy, and his son Richard.
He is survived by his wife Jane Lorene, two daughters Janie Cain and husband Bill and Roxie Dexter, brother Vincent and wife Margarette, sister Bernice Trachta C.D.P., two grandsons, four granddaughters, one great granddaughter, five stepsons and their wives, three step-grandsons, and four step-granddaughters.
Tom and Jane have had 20 years of wonderful life together, and Tom will be greatly missed.
A rosary was conducted by Deacon Jack Murrell on Tuesday, April 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Crofts Funeral Home in Blanco, and Funeral Mass conducted by Rev. Michael O’Gorman of San Antonio and Rev. John Finn of Blanco on Wednesday, April 18 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ferdinand’s Catholic Church in Blanco. Burial was at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Twin Sisters.
Pallbearers were Mark Trachta, Bob Trachta, Joe David Riba, Frances Hartman, Matt Hernden, and Tony Gonzales, Sr. Honorary pallbearers were Tom Sanchez, Michael A. Cosgrove, Lonnie Humrichouse, Art Sitterle, Tom Streeter, and Marvin Reininger.
In lieu of usual remembrances, donations may be given to the Good Samaritan Center in Blanco, the St. Ferdinand’s Catholic Church Building Fund, or a charity of you choice.
