MARVIN FERDINAND WEIRICH
Marvin Ferdinand Weirich was born in Hye, Texas on September 16, 1917 to Otto Emil Weirich and Werra Selma Arlt.
Marvin married Linda Klappenbach April 17, 1940.
Marvin went to be with his Lord Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at Liveoak Medical Center in Blanco at the age of 87 years.
Marvin is survived by two sons Edward Weirich and wife Mary, and Leroy Weirch and wife Shirley all of Johnson City. Three sisters Erma Felps of Pearsall, Viola Hall of Austin and Tekla Oehler of Fredericksburg and two brothers Franklin Weirich of Austin and Victor Weirich of Fredericksburg, two grandchildren Lori Weirich Frederick and husband Steve and Rusty Weirich and Kim as well as three great grandchildren Mikayla Frederick, Rylee Weirich and Reagan Weirich as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Klappenbach, brothers and sisters Walter Weirich, Olivia Sultemeier, Myrtle Deike, Alwina Wittkohl and Levi Weirich.
Services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blanco on Friday March, 11 with Dr. Annamae Storbeck as Officiating Clergy followed by Marvin being laid to rest in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Stonewall.
Pallbearers were Carl Hartmann, Steven Schmidt, Glenn Felps, Calvin Hartmann, Melvin Sultemeier and Wayne Weirich.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Blanco or the Blanco EMS.
NORMA CLARA FISCHER KRAUSE
Norma Clara Fischer Krause left this life, Thursday, March 14, 2005 in the Blanco Liveoak Nursing facility. Norma was 89 years and 5 months.
She was born October 2, 1915, to Herman and Emma Jonas Fischer north of Blanco, Texas. She lived there until January 21, 1921 when her family moved to Kendalia. Norma was the second youngest of seven children.
Norma married Eddie Krause, a Kendalia native, on June 26, 1934, in New Braunfels Protestant Church. Norma and Eddie had two children and were married 63 years when Eddie passed away.
Norma was preceded in death by her longtime companion April 25, 1997, her brothers, Alvin and Edgar, her sisters, Thekla, Hilda and Alwina and her parents.
Eddie and Norma had two daughters, Doris and husband, W.A. Nuckles, of Lampasas and Joy and husband Frank Brussel of Kendalia. They have three grandsons; Frank Brussel, Jr. and friend Susan Debner, of Kendalia. Terry Brussel and wife Dianne of Johnson City and Aaron Nuckles and wife Amanda of College Station. They had two great-grandchildren, Brandi Brussel of Austin and Tyson Brussel of College Station. She has one surviving sister, Emma Werner of Comfort.
Norma was very active in the community. There was nothing she liked better than to be part of a gathering. Family gatherings were of the utmost importance. Norma was treasurer of the Kendalia Community Club from 1958 until the early 1990’s. She bowled at Twin Sisters and then at Spring Branch club until the 1990’s. She was a member of the Kendalia Extension Club, Kendalia Bunco Club, the Eagles, and Trinity Lutheran Church of Blanco. She had two jobs away from home during her lifetime. She cooked for the Kendalia School for several years and she drove a small 13 passenger bus for the Blanco Independent School District for about 10 years.
Pallbearers will be Frank Brussel, Jr., Terry Brussel, Tyson Brussel, Aaron Nuckles, Ronald D’Spain and Melvin Werner.
Services will be held Thursday, March 17, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blanco with pastor Annamae Storbeck officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Crofts Funeral Home, Blanco. Family will be present from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m.. Interment will be at the Kneupper Cemetery at Kendalia.
Memorials may be made to Kendalia Community Club, Kendalia Fire Department, Trinity Lutheran Church or of your choice.
The family wishes to thank the caregivers at the Liveoak Nursing Center, Hill Country Hospices, Dr, Dan Weaver and all who visited Norma during her illness.
CHARLES FRANKLIN (Charlie) WINTERS
Charles (Charlie) Winters went to be with his Lord Sunday, March 13, 2005 at age 70. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Thursday, March 17, at Crofts Funeral Home in Johnson City. Burial will follow at the Masonic Cemetery in Johnson City.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday, March 16, at Crofts Funeral Home in Johnson City and prior to the funeral at 1:30 Thursday, March 17th at the same location.
Mr. Winters was a retired highway contractor and rancher. He was born on December 6, 1934. He grew up on his family’s ranch in Blanco and Llano Counties. He graduated from Southwest Texas State University where he participated in college rodeo. He and his family operated a highway construction business in Texas for decades.
He served as a director and later as an advisory director of Cattleman’s National Bank of Round Mountain. He also served as a board member and later as a board member emeritus of the Pedernales Electric Cooperative, (PEC).
Mr. Winters is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joan Pfeiffer Winters, his mother, Anita Bergmann Winters and his sister Joyce Coleman. He is survived by three children; a daughter Cindi Sultemeier and he husband Shannon of Johnson City; two sons, Bill Winters and his wife Barbara of Austin; and Clint Winters and his wife Susan Loughran, of Austin.
He is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Ryan and Ross Sultemeier; Lauren and Lindsay
Winters; and Emily and James Winters and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father M.C. Winters and brother, Melvin Winter, Jr.
Pallbearers include George Byars, David Coleman, R.B. Felps, Charles Matus, Val Smith and Stephen Winters.
Honorary pallbearers included PEC General Manager Bennie Fuelberg, PEC Assistant General Manager Will Dahmann, and the Board of Directors of the Pedernales Electric Cooperative.
Mary Ivy Smith
Mary Ivy Smith was called suddenly on July 30, 2005, to join her Lord and Savior. Ivy was born in Blanco, Texas on October 28, 1923 to George Ross Brown and Mary Anna Smith. Ivy was a devoted and one of a kind Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother.
Ivy is survived by her loving Husband M.B. Smith. They were married June 21, 1941 in Johnson City, Texas. They recently celebrated 64 wonderful years together. Mary Ivy is also survived by daughters Mary Evonne and Cecil Brooks, Sherry Levada and Paul Jenkins. She is also survived by her brother Dott and Leah Brown, sisters Rosetta Phelps, Ray and Clinton Bakke. She was a grandmother to nine, a great grandmother to 26 and Great Great Grandmother to six. She had so much love and was loved so much.
Fond memories of Mama, Ivy, Grandma, MeMe, and Granny are meals that would feed her family times 10, her love for gardening, sewn patches on jeans, “her” peach tree, “her” cow, homemade ice cream, beautiful zinnias, her fruitcake, the endless love for all those she knew and of course, her broom and dust pan.
There are no words to describe this special woman. The strength, energy, wisdom and caring she brought to so many lives is a cherished gift to all. We love you our special guardian angel.

Leroy Lester Armke
Leroy Lester Armke passed away Aug. 24, 2002, at the age of 88 years. Lester was born June 7, 1914, in Blanco County to Friedrich Armke and Otillie Heidrich.
He served in the armed forces in WWII, 303 Service Squadron. His tour included North Africa and Italy. He enjoyed life-long friendships with many of his tour buddies. Upon release from the Army, he met and married Marjorie Jones July 10, 1946. They lived in Devine, Texas, for 20 years where he farmed and worked as an aircraft mechanic at Kelly Field. He and Marjorie returned to their homestead in Blanco in 1978.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Marjorie Faye, and five children: Forrest Jay and wife Ellen, James Clay and wife Sharon, Karen Kay and husband Richard, Gloria Gay, Dayton Ray and wife Pamela; three siblings: Lola Ammann of Boerne, Rowena Voges of Blanco and Freddy Armke of Johnson City. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Amy Armke, Wade Armke, Cord Armke, Julie Armke, Eric Armke, William Armke, Trisha Burns, Ryan Burns, Sonny Byrne, Chad Byrne, Chance Armke, Koda Armke, Ashley Byrne and Desmond Byrne.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 26, at Crofts Funeral Home, and burial followed at the McKinney Cemetery in Blanco.
Leroy enjoyed many years of Blanco Panther sports and was one of their most devoted fans. He will be greatly missed by many.
ELEANOR MARGARET Hargett
Eleanor Margaret (Beckmann) Hargett was born Jan. 28, 1929, to Hugo and Alexa Beckmann on the family ranch. She went to heaven Aug. 20, 2002, at the age of 73.
Eleanor worked at the USAA for many years.
She is survived by her husband Edmund Linza Hargett of San Antonio, son James Albert Sweet of San Antonio, brother Rudolph Beckmann of Houston, two sisters Irene Sloan of Temple and Dora Martin of New Braunfels.
She is preceded in death by her parents Hugo Beckmann and Alexa (Klappenbach) Beckmann, two sisters Maxine Fazzio and Edna Schlameus.
Services were held Friday, Aug. 23, at Crofts Funeral Home and burial followed at the Blanco Cemetery.
CLAYTON GERALD BOLLIER
Clayton Gerald Bollier, 81, of Blanco died May 12, 2003, in Austin. He was born July 7, 1921, in Elmo to Clayton Rudolph and Littie Mae Bollier. He was married to Jewell Marie Watkins Bollier.
He is survived by daughters Sherryl Gentry of San Benito, Jerry and husband Ronnie McMillian of Blanco; sister Lucille Sampler of Richardson; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday, May 15, at 10 a.m. at the Blanco Church of Christ. Bro. Michael Bryan will officiate. Burial will follow in the Blanco Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jack Felps, David Behrends, Ronnie Immel, Raymond Jennings, LeRoy Wagner, Jerry Lindeman, and Emory Gass. Honorary pallbearer will be Zaden Lee.
