Debra “Debbie” Cason
Debra “Debbie” Cason was born November 2, 1965 in Pearsall, Texas to Robert and Jo Ann Graf. She passed away August 12, 2004 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 38 years.
She is survived by her husband Calvin Cason of Dilley, son Steven Aaron Cason, Kierston Diefenderfer and Megan Diefenderfer brothers James Graf and wife Darla of Bastrop and Phillip Graf and Annie of Cotulla Nieces Brittany Diefenderfer, Cheryl Graf, Christy Murphy, Jackie Jackson. Nephews: Wesley Graf, Bo Cason, Ronnie Cason, Raymond Cason and Cody Jackson.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents brother Larry Graf, wife Donna, nephew Bradley Graf, Justin Graf and Jeremy Cason.
Funeral services were August 14 at Lighthouse Assembly of God with Rev. Charles W. Alley as officiating Clergy. Debbie was laid to rest in the Dilley Cemetery.
Shelton Fluitt
Born April 15th, 1917, to Eddie and Verna Fluitt in the Hoover’s Valley area of Kingsland, went to be with his Lord August 16. He was preceded in death by two sisters, infant Vernita Fluitt, June May, and his brother J.E. Fluitt.
He is survived by Billie, his wife of 65 years, five children and their spouses; Sandra and Charles Sharp, Randy and Bonnie Fluitt, Jeffrey and Clara Fluitt, Telie and Eddy Pabon, LaKay and Greg Steele, 15 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, a sister, Ruth Sutton of Dallas, and numerous nieces and nephews. He generously opened their “home of love” through the years to many other children and young people who refer to him as “Dad”, including foster daughter, Glenda Sanderson.
He graduated from Kingsland High School in 1934, and began a diverse career that included farming and ranching, construction of the Buchanan, Inks and Mansfield Dams, and heavy equipment operator at the Graphite and Granite Mountain quarries. He was also well known for his success in the Pecan Harvesting and Peach growing business. He served his country in the US Army in 1945 and 1946, was assigned to the Army Engineers in Japan, and was honorably discharged with the rank of Tech Sergeant.
Shelton was a licensed minister in the UPCI organization and a member of the Johnson City United Pentecostal Church that he and his wife, Billie, founded in 1957. This thriving church, renamed the H.O.M.E. church after relocating to their new facility, is now pastured by their son-in-law and daughter, Greg and LaKay Steele.
The H.O.M.E. Church, located on HWY 281 N in Johnson City, will host a family visitation and viewing at 6:00pm Tuesday. A celebration service will be Wednesday at 2:00 with Rev. Rex officiating, followed by a gravesite service at the Hoover’s Valley family cemetery 6 miles west of Kingsland, where he will be laid to rest with his Mom and Dad, his brother and numerous relatives. Crofts Funeral Home is handling funeral arrangements.
Shelton spent considerable time teaching values and enjoyment of life in the Hill Country to his 11 grandsons who will now honor him as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Wynn Wilkinson, Morris Haile, Mack May, Vernon Steele and Chester “Pop” Smith.

Ernst Lindig
Ernst Lindig, age 85, passed away Friday, October 29 at Fredericksburg.
Ernst is survived by his wife: Mathilde of Fredericksburg. Children: Paul and Jody Lindig of Mont Belview; Judy and Mike Eilers of Fredericksburg; Joan and Tom Hokanson of Austin; John and Mary Lindig of Johnson city; Michael and Ann Marie Lindig of Frisco. 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren. Sisters and brothers: Else Preas of Sweeny; Anna Marie Wallace of Temple; Werner and Earline Lindig of Bandera; Theo and Mary Lindig of Hye.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 1 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stonewall with Rev. Dr. William Breen officiating. Interment followed at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or to the charity of one’s choice.
Ernst was born June 17, 1919 in Hye, Texas to Max and Frida Meier Lindig. He married Mathilde Rode on February 26, 1949 in St. Peter Lutheran Church in Doss, Texas. He was a WWII, Army veteran and a retired farmer and rancher.
Harold Pape
Harold Pape passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2004 at the age of 81.
He served in the U.S. Navy, worked for Southern Pacific Railroad becoming a certified blacksmith. Harold Pape also managed Oak Grove Store and then went into business with his father and brother, building homes and commercial property as Pape Construction Company.
After retiring he moved to Blanco, Texas to become a full-time rancher. He was an avid hunter and sports lover. The thing that made him the happiest was being surrounded by his kids and grandkids.
Harold was proceeded in death by his parents, Alvin and Annie Pape and his wife of 46 years, Velma Eckert Pape. Surviving are his sons, Warren Pape and his wife, Cathy; Kenneth Pape and his wife, Merrilyn; daughter, Lora Watts and her husband Jim; grandchildren, Stacy Pape, Kasey Pape Hughes and her husband Greg, Keri Pape, Jamie Pape, Craig Watts and his wife, Summer; Jennifer Watts Edwards and her husband, Tim; great-grandson, Cody Edwards; brother, Elgin Pape and his wife, Shirley and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at 12:00 p.m. in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. For those who wish to make donations may make them to Blanco Volunteer Fire Department.
Jones
Zelma Pete (Aston) Jones was born June 24, 1918, in Spur, Texas. She passed away Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, in Blanco.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Spur Memorial Cemetery in Spur.
She is survived by one son, Jerry “Scotty’ and his wife, Becky McLaughlin of Meadowlakes; four grandchildren, Kelly Bennett, Katie Repka, Don Sanders and David Sanders; one brother; Jiggs Aston and one sister, Marguerite Rickles. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
ROBERTSON
Clarene Lincoln Robertson was born Jan. 11, 1902, to Samuel W. and Ella (Long) Lincoln. She went home to be with Jesus early on the morning of Sept. 4, 2002. She went peacefully in her sleep after 100 years on this earth.
Clarene enjoyed many years of her life as a school teacher.
A private memorial service was held at the Tree of Life Ranch in Blanco. In the future, Clarene’s ashes are to be placed in the Memorial Gardens at the First United Methodist Church in Rutherfordton, N.C.
Clarene is survived by her husband of 66 years, Wilburn Burdett Robertson; daughter Maryella Vause of Blanco; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

STEVEN RAY FOSTER SR.
Steven Ray Foster, Sr. was born in Ventura, Ca., Aug. 31, 1961, to Charles Ray and Bertina Mae Foster and was taken from his friends and family Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at the age of 42 in Blanco.
Steven is survived by his parents of Santa Paula, Ca.; two daughters, Shannon Foster of Beale AFB, Ca., and Kristi Romero and husband Abel of Blanco; two sons, Steven Ray Foster Jr. of Santa Paula, Ca., and Timothy Foster of Blanco; one sister, Cheryl Foster of Lancaster, Ca., and three grandchildren, Emily, Elisa and Ava.
Services were held at Crofts Funeral Home Monday with the Bro. Michael Bryan as officiating clergy.
He will be dearly missed by his children who loved him dearly. He will also be missed desperately by his friends who were very fond of him.
