KOBY BRADYN FIERO
So young, so innocent Koby Bradyn Fiero was born Dec. 15, 1999, to Charles and Tammy Fiero. He was also the brother to Kraig and Kyle Fiero.
He died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, at the age of 3.
Koby is survived by his parents and his brothers, all of Blanco.
Graveside funeral services were held at the Masonic Cemetery in Johnson City March 1, 2003.
JO KRISANN (DOWDY) FILLIP
Jo was born to Gerald and Barbara June Dowdy Oct. 30, 1963, in Fredericksburg. She passed from this earth at her home in Blanco Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at the age of 39.
Jo was laid to rest in her final Saturday, March 1, 2003, in the Blanco Cemetery with a graveside service. Officiating the ceremony was Rev. W.B. Hiller.
Jo is survived by her parents Gerald and Barbara of Blanco, two daughters B.J. Fillip of Blanco and Brittany Fillip of Temple, one sister Cindy Alvarado of Austin, two brother Lee Dowdy of Calallen and Thomas Dowdy of Austin, and grandmother Marzett Bindseil.
Jo was a well-known citizen of Blanco and all who know her will miss her.
DAVID ERNEST LUERSEN
David Ernest Luersen, 50, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at his home in Blanco. David was born May 26, 1952, in Blanco.
He is survived by two sisters Joan Hones of Blanco and Billie Nora Haning of Brownwood.
David was laid to rest at the Blanco Cemetery Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003. Rev. Greg Steel officiated the services.
WINNIE MARIE ANDERSON
Winnie Marie Anderson was born Nov. 24, 1920, in Cleburne and passed away at her home in Blanco Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at the age of 82.
Graveside services were held Friday, July 18, at the Caddo Cemetery In Joshua.
She is survived by two daughters: Joyce Fischer of Blanco and Ruth Ann Giles of Boerne; two sisters, Dixie Mae Doyle of McAllen and Ida Louuise Rice of Cleburne; and one brother, William Nelton Mahurin of Cleburne. She is also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Winnie’s family will miss her dearly as well as her many friends.
CARMEN M. SALVAGNO
Carmen M. Salvagno was the youngest of 17 children born to Manuel and Francisca Gomez. Carmen, known as Carmelita to her loved ones, was born Sept. 24, 1919, and went to be with Christ, Monday July 14, 2003.
Carmen attended Lanier High School and later married Danuncio Gabriel Salvagno in New York Aug. 2, 1941.
She raised five children in the same home for 40 years in south San Antonio.
The last six years of her life was spent at Incarnate Word Retirement Community.
Carmelita spent her life achieving God’s purpose through her gifts. She raised her children in an atmosphere of laughter, music, song and left a legacy of unconditional love. Although blind, she taught herself to play the piano, guitar, accordion and mandolin while accompanied by her angelic voice of harmony.
Carmen was proceeded in death by her husband, Dan and is survived by her children, Daniel Salvagno and his wife, Hatsie, Josie Keith and her husband, Woody, Lucy Gutierrez, Dianne Costa and her husband, Dennis, Carmen Roberts and her husband Jay; brother Jesus Gomez and his wife Rose; sister-in-law Mary Salvagno; grandchildren Nina Warren of Blanco, Meagan, Daria, Danica, Rose, Lisa, Natlie, Laurn, Melissa, Veronica, Henry, Darren, Jamie, Bryan, Erich, Brom, Mark Jacob, Jennifer and Edward; great-grandchildren Josef and Faith Flowers, Jamie, Jessica, Jason, Tabitha; great great-grandchildren, Jason, Robert and Angel as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
VICTOR CHARLES SEYMOUR
Victor Charles Seymour was born in Blanco Oct. 15, 1919, and went to be with the Lord Sunday, July 20, 2003, at the age of 83.
Victor lived all his life in Blanco, and there were a few people he didn’t know. He never met a stranger. He was a wonderful outdoorsman.
Victor loved all animals, especially the young or injured. After nursing them back to health, most were given to his grandchildren to keep as pets. Most will remember Victor’s many pranks and his perpetual mischievous grin. Although the majority of his working life he was a ranch foreman, he was really a jack-of-all-trades and was good at everything he did.
In Victor’s words, “You got to drink three small swallers before it will do you any good.”
Victor is survive by his wife, Lillian Seymour of Blanco, and three daughters, Cherry Dean of Round Rock, Shirley Lowry of Blanco and Vickie Walker of Blanco.
He is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Crofts Funeral Home followed by Victory being laid to rest at the Blanco Cemetery located on Spur 163.
Pallbearers were Brian Knoll, Robert Seymour, Tim Walker, Travis Walker, Brandon Wolf and Charlie Wolf.
Memorials may be given to the Hill County Memorial Hospice.
Victor was a good friend to this community and will be missed by it dearly.
THELMA ULRICH
Thelma Ulrich of Johnson City passed away Monday, July 14, 2003, at the age of 64.
Thelma was born in Columbia, MS, Sept. 5, 1938, to Frank and Katheryne Rhode.
Thema is survived by her husband, F.H. (Bozo) Ulrich of Johnson City; one son, Frank and his wife Kandi Ulrich; two daughters, Belinda and her husband Bryan Basse, and Donna and her husband John McKennis, all of Johnson City. She also leaves behind one brother, Albert Rhoden of Columbia, MS, and one sister, Willie Buchanan of Leakesville, MS.
Thelma also leaves eight grandchildren: Alissa and Stephine Basse, Michael Hicki, Jason Guthrie, Ryan and Mallory Ulrich and Aaron McKennis.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Curtis and Gene Rhoden.
Pallbearers were Ralph Breed, Terry Breed, David Herwig, Jim Herwig, Curtis Jones and Keith Ulrich.
Services were held at the First Baptist Church followed by Thelma being laid to rest in the Masonic Cemetery in Johnson City.
Rev. Ernest Topper officiated.
Thelma was known by the community that she called home and will be missed by her friends and family.
