Stephano Gaetano Achille
Stephano Gaetano Achille, 7-week-old son of Nicolo and Nancy Achille of Alvin, Texas, was born June 18, 2008, at St. John's Hospital in Clear Lake and died August 12, 2008, at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston.
His will to live was evident — he fought until the end. The effects of the enterovirus he was born with decided otherwise. He is now our Little Saint in Heaven.
Besides Mommy and Daddy, Gaetano also leaves behind big brother, Giuseppe; grandparents, Tommaso and Mary Achille of Alvin and Steve and Anne Starr of Danbury; great-grandparents, Mary F. LeCompte of Alvin and Ray and Sharron Starr of Danbury; uncles, Sal Achille, Nicole and Parker of Alvin; aunt, Dora and Chris Yan of Dallas; aunt, Elena and James Rayburn of Alvin and uncle, Andy Starr of Danbury. There are numerous great-and great-great-aunts and uncles, cousins and dear friends, who also mourn with us.
We especially would like to thank all the caring people of Texas Children's Hospital who took care of Gaetano and his family. They also mourn with us.
Sunday, August 17, 2008, a visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Scott Funeral Home in Alvin with the Rosary to begin at 7 p.m.
Monday, August 18, 2008, (Gaetano's two-month birthday) we will have a Funeral Mass at Shrine of the True Cross in Dickinson at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson.
Also please pray for the other families who, due to this virus, must also mourn for their babies.
Tommie Ranee Montemayor
A celebration of the life of Tommie Ranee Montemayor, 25, of Houston, Texas, was held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Delhi with the Rev. Jay Jones officiating.
Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, August 4, 2008, also at the funeral home.
Burial was in Forest Corner Cemetery in West Carroll Parish.
Ranee died Friday, August 1, 2008, in Houston from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. She was a native of Baytown, Texas, and was a member of Holiday Lakes Baptist Church.
She is survived by three children, Nevada Lewis Montemayor of Angleton, Texas, James David Hatley of West Monroe, Louisiana and Kirsten La-Shelle Bankston of Houston, Texas; her mother, Patty Ann Kidder and her husband, Ronald, of Houston, Texas; her father, Tommy Ray Bankston and his wife, Carmen, of Rayville, Louisiana; two brothers, John Roy Doss of Clute, Texas, and Jimmy Doss of Angleton, Texas; sister, Vanessa Allene Elliot of Angleton, Texas; stepbrother, Alexis Kidder of Houston, Texas; four stepsisters, Kerri Kidder of Houston, Texas, Patricia Rogers of Deville, Louisiana, and Daphne and Summer Rogers both of Angleton, Texas; grandmother, Ramona McDaniel of Angleton, Texas; grandfather, J.V. Bankston of New Caney, Texas; grandmother, Peggy Hamilton of Atlanta, Georgia; step-grandfather, Melvin Dartlone of Waverly, Louisiana; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers were Paul Philley, Joey Clarke, Lane Clarke, Jeff Balsamo, Aron Jeselink and Daniel Sheppard.
Nicole Lynn Armand
Nicole Lynn Armand, 16, of Lake Jackson went to be with her Lord on Friday, August 15, 2008, after losing her long and courageous battle with Ewing's Sarcoma cancer. She was born November 28, 1991, in Galveston, Texas.
Nicole attended Brazoswood High School, where she was a cheerleader and a member of the choir. Her favorite quote, "God created you so you could make your life count, not so you could count the days of you life," was very evident in her actions. She participated in Habitat for Humanity, Walk for Life and loved her job at His Love Christian Counseling.
Nicole had an unwavering faith in God and had a gift of grace and love. The Bible says in Proverbs 17:22, "A merry heart doeth good like medicine," and Nicole's dream for her life was a career in medicine. Indeed, without the formal training and education she dreamed of in medicine, her life was medicine to the souls of everyone she met.
Nicole is survived by her parents, Sandra Armand-Wells (David) of Lake Jackson and John Armand (Karen) of Austin; brother, Nathan Armand of Burnet; grandparents, Donald Armand (Janice) of Lake Jackson, Robert Chavez of Richwood and Linda Chavez of Victoria; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family received friends Monday, August 18, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Family Life Church, 220 Lake Road, Lake Jackson. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at Family Life Church with Pastor Craig Taylor officiating.
Pallbearers will be David Hopkins, David Manning, Thomas Garcia, Doug Dayton, James Guenther and Jim Onxley.

Willa Grace Earl
Willa Grace Earl, 85, was born in Damon, Texas, to Alec and Cassie Ainsworth. She passed away in Houston on August 15, 2008.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, August 18, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Life Foursquare Church, 501 Karankawa, Angleton, Texas, with Pastor Cere Muscarella officiating.
Survivors left to cherish her memory are her children, Linda Atkins and husband, Gary, of West Columbia, Sandra McCann of Chilton, Mary Franklin and husband, Rick, of Greenpond, Alabama, and J.T. Miller Jr. and wife, Carol Ann, of New Braunfels; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Earl.

Marvin Douglas Boomhower Sr.
Marvin Douglas Boomhower Sr., 71, of Oyster Creek, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born September 22, 1936, in Schenectady, New York, to Charles and Elizabeth Boomhower.
Marvin served in the U.S. Army. He was a Brazosport-area resident for 33 years and retired from Schenectady Chemical in Freeport after 391?2 years of service. He was a member of VFW Post 8676, Elks Lodge 2200, Redmen Lodge and past president of the Eagles. Marvin loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas and in his younger days, he loved scuba diving, hunting and fishing. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Boomhower; sons, Ed Boomhower and wife, Mary, James Boomhower and wife, Sandy, Lance Boomhower, Rob Bousman and wife, Marie, Rick Bousman, Ronnie Bousman and wife, Traci; sisters, Charlotte Hayes and husband, Gary and Sandy Agrelo; brothers, Chuck Boomhower and wife, Irene and George Boomhower and wife, Donna; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many other loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Marvin D. Boomhower Jr.; and his brother, Carl Boomhower.

Sandra Kaye Journeay Roberts
September 18, 1950 – August 16, 2008
Our Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, Aunt and friend went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 16, 2008. Together, she rests in heaven with her parents, Thomas Howard and Barbara Jo Journeay. Sandra was born in Houston, Texas, but was considered a lifelong resident of Angleton, and was a member of the graduating class of 1969. She was a dedicated mother, who lovingly raised a family in Angleton and lead by example as a trailblazer in the mortgage and real estate industries.
As a youngster, she spent her summers at her grandparent's farm riding her favorite horse "Billy," chasing the calves and running through the cornfields. She learned to drive on a 1941 International Farmall "B" which still remains in the family. Sandra continued her love of horses throughout her life and was one of the first women to ride cutting horses at the Brazoria County Fair during the late ‘60s. She was a Texan, proud of her heritage and the lineage of the Journeay family.
Sandra was a creative, compassionate, inspirational person who thought more of others than of herself. She provided unconditional love and openly shared her memories and life experiences. Her children, family and friends will carry with them her laughter, bright smile and beautiful spirit in their hearts forever.
Sandra leaves behind, to cherish her memory, her devoted children, Shawn Roland Roberts, Shay Allison Olinger and son-in-law, Major Greg Olinger, and William Charles Maxwell Roberts. She also is survived by granddaughter's Anna Kaye and Laura Lee Olinger and Riley Lorraine Roberts, who were the shining light in her world. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Kathey Journeay and Lewis Wayne Brown; her brother-in-law, Thomas H. and Beth Journeay Jr. all of Angleton; her youngest brother, Alec W. Journeay of Mabank, Texas, and her beloved nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins from throughout Texas and New Mexico.
The family extends an invitation to celebrate Sandra's life at a memorial service which will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at 6:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral in Angleton, Texas. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Gladys Finley
Gladys Finley, 94, of Sweeny passed away Monday, August 18, 2008.
Gladys was born October 13, 1913, in Franklin Parrish, Louisiana, to Noah and Sarah McVay.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Finley, Sr.; daughter, Nova Doris Finley, and sons, Joe Finley, Jr. and Curtis Ralph Finley; and parents, Noah and Sarah McVay.
Gladys is survived by her son, Charles and wife, Mary Ann Finley, of Sweeny; seven grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Gladys will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home chapel, with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time.

Richard "Rick" Allen McCarty
A celebration of the life of Richard Allen McCarty, 44, of Livingston, Texas, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 21, 2008, at the Full Gospel Light House Church in Sweeny, Texas, with Bro. Wadelle Strother officiating.
Rick was born January 21, 1964, in Bay City, Texas, to B.W. and Jeanette McCarty, and went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 16, 2008.
Rick is preceded in death by his brother, Gordon McCarty; father, B.W. McCarty; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Rowene McNeill.
Rick is survived by his wife and best friend, Denelle Quin McCarty; son, Trent McCarty; daughter, Tabitha; stepdaughter, Tonya; mother, Jeanette McCarty; brother, James McCarty and wife, Melissa; and one grandson, Kyle. Rick also is survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
Rick loved to fish and hunt on Lake Livingston. He loved the outdoors and loved spending time with family and friends. Rick also loved helping loved ones and friends whenever he could. Rick will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Milton H. Bevins
Milton H. Bevins, 95, of Angleton, passed away Monday, August 18, 2008, at his residence.
Services are set for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at the Angleton Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home.
Mr. Bevins was born August 7, 1913, in Longview, Texas, to James F. and Rebecca Bevins.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Bevins, and daughter, Mary Bevins Barrett, both of Angleton; grandson, Robert Smith; and three great-grandchildren, Rhiannon, Sabre and Shyenne.

Jerrell Joe Brock, 81, of Richwood,u8 passed away Friday, August 15, 2008.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 21, 2008, at Stroud Funeral Home in Clute.
Burial will follow at Restwood Memorial Park.

Joe was born November 5, 1926, in Mountain Park, Oklahoma, to Robert and Lena Brock. He married the love of his life, the late Mary Alice Polk, February 19, 1949, in Sherman, Texas. They moved to Clute in January 1952. Joe was a member of Pipefitters Local 211 since 1952.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice; sisters, Lois Tolleson, Jimmie Vigus, Hester Brock; and great-grandson, Jace Bevers.
He is survived by daughters, Brenda Nicar and husband, Earl, of Brazoria, and Cheryl Cravey and husband, J.P., of Freeport; brother, R.J. Brock of Gainesville, Texas; grandchildren, Brian, Jerrell and Jeff Bevers, Kim Pousson, Michael and Stevan Cravey and Aaron Erickson; great-grandchildren, Priscilla and Brittany Bevers, Christopher Bevers and Caela Pousson; special niece, Linda Melton and husband, Royce, of Whitesboro; loving and special friend, Joni Shrader; and many other loving relatives and friends.
Joe's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
