Howard E. Frizielle, 92 of Sweeny, died Sunday, Oct. 14 at Sweeny House.

Mrs. Rae was born March 9, 1915 in Kosse, Texas and was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Buna Brantner of Houston, Texas and Irene Gallagher of Giddings, Texas; two sisters, Edna Earl and C.W. Price of Purdon, Texas and Dorothy Scroggins of Henderson, Texas; grandson and wife, Ray and Melinda Thomason; and two great-granddaughters, Allison and Emily Thomason all of Willis Point, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews & cousins; Two brothers-in-law, Aubrey Rae of Carmine, Texas and Milton Rae of Houston, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Johnnie Rae; two sisters, Eloise Bosley and Mayciell Cox; her parents, Clarence & Edna Gunn; two brothers, Dwain Gunn and W.C. Gunn, Jr.; and a daughter, Sue Thomason.
Pallbearers were her nephews.

A. Doyle Cook Jr., 56, of Lake Jackson, Texas, passed away Friday, October 12, 2001 at his home in Lake Jackson.
Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson, on Sunday afternoon October 14, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. with pastors Lynn Monical and Johnny Beard presiding. Interment will be in Restwood Memorial Park. The family will receive guests on Saturday, October 13, 2001 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Lakewood Funeral Chapel.
Doyle was born on May 13, 1945 in Forth Worth, Texas and was raised in Lake Jackson. He was a 1963 graduate of Brazosport High School and a 1968 graduate of Texas A&M University. He served in the Army from 1969 until 1971, attaining the rank of Captain while stationed in Germany. He retired from The Dow Chemical Company after 27 years of service and worked for U.S. Contractors for the last four years.
He was an avid golfer and had many close friends and loving family, who will miss him greatly.
Doyle is survived by his wife Vicki of Lake Jackson; his son, John Cook and wife, Susanne of Brazoria; step-sons, Bobby Rod and wife, Jennifer of Lake Jackson, Randy Rod and wife, Jeannie of Conroe, and Steven Rod and wife, Haley of Lake Jackson; his parents, Archie and Mary Cook of Lake Jackson; sisters, Kathy King and husband, George of Lake Jackson and Jo Ann Vigus and husband, Mikel of West Columbia; six grandsons; one niece and three nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tom Muecke, Ben Dunn, Larry King, Ray Langston, Bernie Buschbom and Jeff Ogle.
Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Rod, Wayne Garner, Bill Hutchison, Bill Talbot, Mike Vitek and Bobby Marrow.

Henry J. Janik, 82, of Lake Jackson, Texas, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2001 at Cypress Woods Health Care Center in Angleton, Texas.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 15, 2001 at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Monsignor Leo Wleczyk officiating.
Family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 14, 2001 at the Lakewood Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral chapel.
Henry was an area resident for 60 plus years, retired from Houston Lighting & Power after 32 years of dedicated service. He was a WWII Navy Veteran, and a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Lake Jackson, Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elsie Lee Mielsch Janik of Lake Jackson, Texas; by children, Jimmie Allen Janik and wife, Annie of Sunrise, Florida, Janet Sue Ferguson and husband, John of Houston, Texas, Mary Kay Null and husband, Marty of Lake Jackson, Texas and Frances Ann Vaughn and husband, Arnold "Bubba" of Clute, Texas; and by grandchildren, John Henry Ferguson, Lacey Schoppe, Mike Null, Mark Vaughn, Russell Vaughn, Derik Janik and Leana Janik. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Emilie Janik; brothers, August, Robert, Fred and Raymond Janik; and by sisters, Hedie Janik and Marie Grigar.
Pallbearers will be Norbert Janik, Robert Janik, Gilbert Janik, James Janik, August Janik, Leonard Thumann and Eddy Joe Kramer.

Shirley P. Boykin, 43, of Jones Creek, was called home Friday, October 12, 2001 to be safe in the arms of the Lord where she longed to be.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 15, 2001 at Cedar Lawn Haven of Rest Cemetery in West Columbia, Texas, with Rev. Adam Newcomer officiating.
Visitation will be held at Baker Funeral Home on Saturday, October 13, 2001 between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. in West Columbia.
Shirley was born March 30, 1958 in Leesburg, Florida. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Freeport, Texas.
Survivors include her mother, Inez Boykin of Jones Creek; daughter and son-in-law, Denice and Jordan Mariam of Jones Creek; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Michelle Boykin of Churchill; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kaylan and Phil Tipp of Lake Jackson, Charlotte Boykin of Jones Creek, Pam and Mark Thornton of Sweeny; aunt, Dolly Phillips; numerous nieces and nephews; friends and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon R. Boykin.

GENE RODERICK
Gene Roderick, age 43, of Archer City, Texas passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2001 in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2001 at the First Baptist Church of Archer City.
Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City. The family will receive guests on Friday, October 12, 2001, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Aulds Funeral Home.
Mr. Roderick, the son of Carl and Barbara Miller Roderick, was born January 16, 1958 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Gene was raised in Clute, Texas where he graduated from Brazoswood High School in 1976 where he participated in football and baseball. He had lived in Wichita Falls from 1976 until 1979. While in Wichita Falls, he was very active in softball and rodeo competition and had even worked as a rodeo clown. He later moved to Nacogdoches, Texas where he graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with a degree in Business Administration.
Survivors include his parents, Carl and Barbara Roderick of Archer City and Lake Graham, Texas; two sisters, Carla Tousek of Archer City, Texas and Rene' Freeman Polvadore of Wichita Falls, Texas; one brother, Tye Roderick of Clute, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

Iva "Billie" Goodrum, 80, of Richwood, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, October 9, 2001 at her residence. She shared all she had with family and friends and the love of her life was her family.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 11, 2001 at Stroud Funeral Home with Pastor John Haynes officiating.
Interment will be at King Cemetery in Kemp, Texas.
Billie was an area resident for 60 years. She was a loving and generous mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Viola Robertson; brother, Buck Robertson; grandson, Christopher Shiflet; niece, Betty Reed; and nephew, Jim Robertson.
Survivors include three daughters, Bobbie Jo Moss of Clute, Sherry E. Shiflet and husband, Joe of Richwood, Mary L. Ford and husband, Bob of Richwood; sister, Pat Oubre and husband, Doc of Angleton; five grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends.
