Theresa Hodges, 90, of Angleton, Texas, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2001.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 28, 2001 at 1:00 p.m.
Visitation will be Friday, 8:00 a.m. until service time.
Interment will be at Forest Park Lawndale in Houston, Texas.

WALTER HOLMAN RANEY, SR.
Funeral services for Walter Holman Raney, Sr., 77, of Bangs, Texas, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 28, 2001 in the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with James Gibson officiating.
He died Monday, September 24, 2001 in Bangs, Texas.
Burial will be at Bangs Cemetery, Bangs, Texas.
Mr. Raney was born April 6, 1924 in Cisco, Texas. He served in the Army during World War II and was an operator for Dow Chemical. He married Wilma Brinkley in Eastland, on August 16, 1947.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Raney of Bangs, Texas; children, Walter Raney, Jr. of Freeport, Donald and Sharon Raney of Pasadena, Tim Raney of Freeport; two grandsons, Gregory and Jennifer Raney of New Jersey, Jeffrey W. Raney of Tomball; one great-granddaughter, Emily Amber Raney of Columbus, Ohio; and brother, J. F. Raney of Tyler.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.

He passed away Thursday, January 31, 2002 in Houston.

LEONARD EDWARD SCHMIDT
Funeral services for Leonard Edward Schmidt, 89, of League City, will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 2, 2002 at Jack Rowe Funeral Home in League City, Texas.
Interment to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
He passed away January 29, 2002 in Webster. He was born September 13, 1912 in League City, to August and Leola Dick Schmidt.
Visitation was from 6 PM to 8 PM, Friday, February 1, 2002 at Jack Rowe Funeral Home in League City, Texas.
He served during World War II as a diesel engineer in the Air Force. Leonard worked 43 years for Humble Pipeline and Exxon Oil Company and retired in 1977.
Leonard, lovingly known as “Pop”, is survived by his wife of 60 years, Julia Olive; sons, Leonard Edward Schmidt, Jr. & wife, Cindy of Bay View; and Richard Lee Schmidt & wife, Julia of LaPorte; daughter, Shirley Ann Phillips & husband, James, of Angleton; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be James Phillips, Mark Phillips, Troy Schmidt, Kevin Schmidt, Colten Schmidt, Buck Davis, and Ricky Crum.
Honorary pallbearer will be Jeremy Schmidt.

MRS. WILLIE BERNICE ANSLEY
Funeral services for Mrs. Willie Bernice Ansley, 77, will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 2, 2002 at Chapel of Memorial Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas, with Rev. Melvin Lowe and Rev. Mary Lowe officiating.
Burial will follow at Buffalo Cemetery in Buffalo, Texas.
She was born July 19, 1924 in Lampasas, and she passed away January 31, 2002 at Hillcrest Hospital in Waco.
She worked in Brazosport, as a dietician at the Brazosport Memorial Hospital. She retired to Buffalo, eight years ago.
She is survived by her sons, Arnold Ansley & wife, Edith of Oakwood, Herman Mack Ansley & wife, Sophia of Buffalo, and Jerry Ansley, Sr. & wife, Mary Lee of Buffalo; daughter, Brenda Ansley Henley & husband, James of Buffalo; sisters, Ollie Mae Hughes of Buffalo; and Naomi Jean Hughes of Fairfield.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Peter Ansley, John Ansley, Herman Ansley, Jr., Jerry Robert Ansley, Jr., Charles Daniel Ansley, Michael Hernandez.

H.J. BURRIS, SR.
Mr. H.J. “Homer” Burris, Sr. of Houston, Texas, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2002, at the age of 87.
Mr. Burris was preceded in death by his wife of more than 50 years, Dollie Nesby Burris.
He was a man of exceptional character and zest for life. He was truly respected and admired. He was a sportsman, a musician, a dancer and a wonderful story teller. He was a retired railroad engineer from Armco Steel.
Before his ill health prevented him from traveling, Mr. Burris was a frequent visitor to Freeport, to visit with his son, Jack O. Burris of Oyster Creek.
Mr. Burris is also survived by sons, H.J. Burris, Jr. and Lloyd W. Burris; and daughter, Emma Bishop; and 13 grandchildren.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 2, 2002, at Howard Glendale Funeral Home in Houston, Texas, with burial at 3:00 p.m. in Plantersville, Texas.

SARAH JANE (SALLY) RODENBERG
Graveside service for Sarah Jane (Sally) Rodenberg, 78, of Austin, will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 2, 2002 at Lockhart City Cemetery in Lockhart, Texas. Pastor Jim Abington will lead a celebration of Sally’s life and Christ’s promise and love.
She was born February 10, 1923 to Bernard and Mary Kingston of Flinton, Pennsylvania. She passed away January 30, 2002, after a valiant battle with pulmonary disease.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, five brothers, and one sister.
Sally leaves behind her husband, Earl, a son and daughter-in-law, Charlie & Merlyn Rodenberg, a daughter and son-in-law, Lori & Bill Meyer, all of Austin. Her beloved grandchildren, Keith and Anna Rodenberg of Austin, Kristi Kay Rodenberg of Richardson, Wendy Meyer of Encinitas, California, and Megan Meyer of Austin; two great-grandchildren, Austin and Cole Rodenberg of Austin; two sisters, Wanetta Kimberly and Louise Bentzel of Pennsylvania; and one brother, George Kingston of Oklahoma.
She served in the Marine Corps during WWII and came to live in Texas, when she married Earl Rodenberg in 1945. Sally and Earl were married 57 years, January 23, 2002.
Sally’s love and laughter will be deeply missed by her family and friends in Sweeny and Clute. She was a long-term member of The First Baptist Church of Old Ocean, Willow Drive Baptist Church in Lake Jackson, and she most recently moved her letter to Bannockburn Baptist Church in Austin.

She was a resident of Palacios since 1946, a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters and the St. Anthony’s Altar Society. She was a loving mother and wife, a homemaker, and a bookkeeper for her husband’s business
She is preceded in death by her parents, John & Francis Morris; her children, Jennette, Raymond, Mary Ann, Michael, and Daniel Kana; and by her brothers, Louis, Willie, Emil, Eddie, Ludwig, and Eugene Morris.
She is survived by her husband, George Charles Kana, Sr. of Palacios; by her daughter, Betty Boyd of Austin; by her sons, Edward J. Kana & wife, Margaret of Lake Jackson, Tony Kana of Palacios, Joe C.
