Funeral services for Louisa Acosta, 81, of Clute, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at Stroud Funeral Home.
She passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at Village on the Creek Nursing Home.
Interment will be at Restwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Acosta was an area resident for 31 years.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Castulo S. Acosta.
She is survived by her daughters: Sarah Reyna and husband, Roy of Clute, Julia Gonzalez of Stockton, Calif., Mary Pena and husband, Tony of Lake Jackson, and Alicia Garza and husband, Jose of Clute; sons: Marcelino Herrera and wife, Susie of Lake Jackson, Emilio Herrera of Freeport and Roy Acosta and wife, Maria of Oyster Creek; sisters: Annie Diaz of Palacios and Lucille Guzman of Bay City; 30 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends.

Mr. Max K. Luedtke
Memorial services for Mr. Max K. Luedtke, 68, of Courtney, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2002, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Karl Choate, interim rector at St. Paul's, and the Rev. James Morgan of Huntsville.
He was born December 20, 1933, in Vernon, Texas, and passed away July 5, 2002, at his residence.
Mr. Luedtke was a retired court reporter for the 23rd Judicial District.
He was a life member of AQHA, LQHA and TQHA and a member of Texas Court Reporters Association.
He also was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal in Navasota. He served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mae Luedtke.
He is survived by his wife, Martha R. "Marti" Luedtke of Courtney; sons, Max K. Luedtke, Jr. of Florida, and William Paul Luedtke of Wolcott, N.Y.; daughter, Sharon and Troy Perry of Richmond, Texas; father, L. M. "Leo" Luedtke of Plainview, Texas; and seven grandchildren.

Martha passed away Monday, July 8, 2002, at her residence. Her parents also precede her in death.
Surviving are three daughters, Mindy Lou Yugel and husband, Joseph of Arizona; Pamela Sue Zwahr and husband, Brent of Danbury; Robin Gail Gathright and husband, Trent of Pearland; one sister, Claudia Beeker of Overland Park, Kan.; grandchildren, Jason Martin, Jeremy Bledsaw, Hallie Bledsaw, Kaysie Zwahr, Brent Zwahr, Jr., Amanda Zwahr and Jeffery Zwahr; and great-granddaughter Presley Liesman (Martin).

Carlyne McLeod was born April 24, 1932, in Wharton, Texas, to Carl and Alma Lucille Walker.
She lived in Angleton, since 1952, and retired after a long career with Brazoria County.
She was a member of Second Baptist Church.
Mrs. McLeod was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, James "Jim" A. McLeod, of Angleton; son, Jimmy McLeod, Jr. of Angleton; daughter, Nina L. Hall and husband, Jerry of Angleton; grandchildren, Jerilyn Maynard and husband, Jeff of Angleton, Carla Martel and husband, Morgan of Danbury, Brandon Hall and wife, Lindsey of Angleton, Christopher McLeod, Kaitlyn McLeod and Cade McLeod of Angleton; great-grandchildren, MaKayla Hall and Wyatt Martel; aunt, Alma Belle (Aunt Sister) Luna of Bay City.

Johnny was an area resident since 1947, a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII, a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, worked for Carnation Milk for 20 years, and retired from Dow Chemical Co. as an operator after 25 years.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Xavier Theresa Gifford of Lake Jackson, Texas; by 7 children: Evelyn Laird of Lake Jackson, TX, Kathryn Follett & husband, Jim of Angleton, TX, Carolyn Gifford of Lake Jackson, TX, Larry Gifford & wife, Rebecca of Clute, TX, David Gifford & wife Ladonna of Freeport, TX, Patrick Gifford of Lake Jackson, TX, and Gary Gifford & wife, Michelle of McKinney, TX; by 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Fred Gifford & wife, Beverly of Austin, TX; and by three sisters: Jennie Lowe & husband, Kenneth of Nacogdoches, TX, Jimmie Lou Connors & husband, Abe of Nacogdoches, TX, and Betsy Schnell of Austin, TX.
