Edward William (Ed) Leshikar
Edward William (Ed) Leshikar, 94, of Lake Jackson, went to be with his Lord on February 26, 2000. He was born November 19, 1905 in Beyersville, Texas, a city in Williamson County.
Leshikar was a charter member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church in Lake Jackson, resident of Hearthstone in Lake Jackson, and an area resident since 1941. He retired from Dow Chemical Company after 17 years of service as a general foreman, as well as owned and operated Ed's Feed Store in Freeport, for about 10 years. He was also an avid fisherman, gardener, and he loved to work in his yard. Leshikar was a loving, caring and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 67 years, Ruth Leshikar, of Lake Jackson, one son: Bill Leshikar & wife Clara of Lake Jackson, three grandchildren: Steven Leshikar & wife Emily of Coppell, Texas, Judy Leshikar of Florence, SC and Beth Brannan & husband Dale of Austin, Texas; five great-grandchildren: Amanda, David & Elizabeth Leshikar and Blake & Travis Brannan; one sister: Claudie Glover of Taylor, Texas; and two brothers Dr. Marvin Leshikar of Taylor, Texas and Allen Leshikar of Refugio, Texas.
He was preceded in death by parents: Frank & Johanna Leshikar; one sister Betti Kacir; and two brothers: John Leshikar and Reuben Leshikar.
The family will receive family & friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, February, 28, 2000 at Lakewood Chapel. Funeral services at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February, 29, 2000 at Lakewood Funeral Chapel with Dr. James Reiter officiating. Interment at Restwood Cemetery.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations may be made to Chapelwood Methodist Church building fund.
Kenneth James Polk
Kenneth James Polk, 52, of Lake Jackson, passed away Friday, February 25, 2000. Ken was an area resident since 1992, and was a member of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church. He was an electrical engineer with the Phillips Petroleum Company in the Sweeny Complex. Ken was a member of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew and St. Timothy's choir.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Meredith Polk of Lake Jackson; four children: Steven Polk of New Iberia, Louisiana, Lisa Polk of Odessa, Texas, Becky Hancock of Lake Jackson, and Jamie Hancock of Cushing, Oklahoma; and one sister, Apala Miller of Plano, Texas.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, February 29, 2000 from 7-9 p.m. at the Lakewood Chapel in Lake Jackson. Funeral services will be 10:30 am. Wednesday, March 1, 2000 at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Lake Jackson with the Rev. Michael Gemignani officiating. Pallbearers will be David Bordovsky, Alan Brinkley, Malcolm Brinkley, Michael Lawson, David Robinson, Dan Roddy, Paul Synder and Bert Smith.

James Allen Pevoto, 48, of Lake Jackson, passed away Friday, May 5, 2000 at Brazosport Memorial Hospital. A memorial funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2000 at the First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson, with Rev. Joe Brumbelow officiating.
James was a 1970 graduate of Brazosport High School. He attended and graduated from Tennessee Diesel and Automotive Technical College. James was a mechanic by trade and extended his passion for cars by repairing and restoring older models. He loved hunting, fishing, and working on old cars.
He is survived by daughter, Margarette Marie Pevoto of Cleveland, Texas; stepdaughter, Stacy Penny & husband, Ervin of Brazoria, Texas; parents, James & Daisy Pevoto of Lake Jackson; two sisters, Diane Frey & husband Stanley of Lake Jackson, and Sheree Speir & husband, Ron, also of Lake Jackson; nephews, Joshua Frey, Johnathan Frey and Michael Speir; niece, Jennifer Speir and great-niece, Kaylee Marie Johnson.

Vera Mae Chambers of Brazoria, Texas, died Saturday, May 6, 2000 at the age of 92 in Brazoria. She was born Thursday, September 19, 1907 in Mendenhall, Miss.

Anita Koole, 77, of Freeport, TX, passed away Friday, September 22, 2000 in Houston, TX. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 26, 2000 at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Freeport, TX, with Father Sanchez officiating. Mrs. Koole will lay in-state at the Freeport Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. and a Rosary Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday.
Mrs. Koole was a Freeport resident for over 66 years and a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Cornelio Miguel Koole, of Freeport, daughter, Ruth Marshall, son, Eulalio Jauregui, and wife, Laura B. of Cypress, son, Bobby Koole, of Lake Jackson, son, Mario T. Luis Garcia Ledesma
Luis Garcia Ledesma of Jones Creek, met his Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, August 16, 2008. Luis was born in Harlingen, Texas, on February 17, 1930, and is the son of the late Basilio and Concepcion Ledesma.
Luis proudly served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War. After returning home, he didn't shy away from any job that came his way. He was a bus driver, a mailman, a crop duster and a flying instructor, and finally he moved to Freeport to work for Dow Chemical, where he retired after 25 years of service.
Luis' legacy in life was his love for his family.
He is survived by his wife, Martha; sons, Joe Ledesma, Jaime Ledesma and wife, Lydia, Javier Ledesma and wife, Julie, Bobby Ledesma, Rene Aguilar and wife, Sylvia, and David Aguilar; daughters, Yolanda Perez and husband, Federico, Janie Rocha and husband, Santos, Sandy Bond and husband, Gene, Nora Poncio and husband, Cipriano, Concepcion Ledesma, Hilda Ledesma, Clarrissa Ledesma, Crystal Aguilar and Kevin Contreras and Leticia Aguilar. He also leaves behind brothers and sisters, Basilio Ledesma, E.J. Ledesma and wife, Antonia, Carlos Ledesma and wife, Graciela, Guadalupe Trevino, Celina Rodriguez and husband, Pablo, Rosa Ramon, Carmen Saldana and husband, Rafael, Diana Anderson; 33 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Ezequiel Trevino, and sister-in-law, Emma Ledesma.
A memorial will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2008, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 326 W. Fourth in Freeport, Texas.
Funeral service will be Friday, August 22, 2008, at 12:00 noon at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas, 10567 Veterans Memorial Drive.

Claude Wesley Kilsby, 82, of Sweeny, TX, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2000 in Sweeny. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2000 at Baker Funeral Home Chapel in West Columbia, with the Rev. Mark Kilsby officiating.

Claude Wesley Kilsby was born in Damon, TX, on Thursday, March 7, 1918.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar A. and Ida Kilsby.
He is survived by his wife, Jannie Ann Kilsby, of Sweeny; daughter, Dale Jeanette Cox and her husband, Robert, of Sweeny, sons, Ricky Dale Kilsby, of Sweeny, Tony Ray Kilsby and his wife, Jeanette of Damon, and Wayne Allen Yount of Damon, sister, Jewel Lacina, of Brazoria, and five grandchildren.

Armand J. Reixach, Sr.
Armand J. Reixach, Sr. passed away early Friday morning. He was born in New Orleans, October 10, 1910, where he lived most of his life. He and his wife of 60 years, Anna Mae, moved to Lake Jackson, Texas, three years ago. He is survived by his wife, Anna Mae Tragle Reixach, daughter, Suzanne Reixach Reed and her husband, David and their children, Andrea and Amy Anastasio and step-grandsons, Tommy and Jeffrey; daughter, Brenda Reixach Viola and her husband, Joseph and their sons, Jason and Jonathan Morgan, son Don Andre Reixach and his wife Kathleen and daughter, Lauren and son, Armand J. Reixach, Jr. and his son Armand J. Reixach, III, and daughter Amanda Reixach Hall and her husband, Matt, and step-grandsons, Jacob Espey, his wife, Stephanie and their son, Justin and step-grandson, Benjamin, his wife Lisa and their two children Jacob and Rhonda Espey.
He was devoted to his faith, his wife of 60 years and his family. "Pete," as he was known by most friends and family, enriched the lives of everyone who knew him. He loved life and lived it to the fullest up to the end.
Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home Sunday, Nov. 26 from 6-8 p.m. A funeral mass will be said in his honor at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Monday, Nov. 27 at 3 p.m. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans Tuesday at 10 a.m.
