GERALD CRONE
Gerald Crone, 63, went to be with the Lord on July 14, 2002. He was born in Tyler, Texas, on August 26, 1938.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia of Fulshear; his daughter, Christi Cannon & husband, Jeff of Fulshear; his son, Trevor Crone of Houston; grandchildren, Trent and Elyse Cannon, both of Fulshear; brothers, Bobby Crone & wife, Martha of Tyler, Harold Crone & wife, Patricia of Lake Jackson, Kenneth Crone and wife, Caroline of Winnie; sisters, Norma Jean Alfred and Alice Crone, both of Tyler and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Iva Crone of Tyler.
He also leaves behind wonderful friends and neighbors and a loving church family.
Gerald was a 1956 graduate of John Tyler High School.
He attended Tyler Junior College and received his degree from Texas A&M University in 1961.
Gerald was retired after a long career with Dow Chemical and Destec Energy.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at Simonton Community Church, Simonton, Texas.

JAMES 'JIM' B. FREELAND
Funeral services for James "Jim" B. Freeland, age 70, of Danbury are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, Texas.
Burial will follow in Danbury Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 16, 2002, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home.
Jim was born on August 27, 1931, in Freeport to Tunis & Myrtle Hoffpauir Freeland.
He was a life-long resident of Danbury; served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Danbury Fire Department and a Dow retiree.
Jim passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2002 at Angleton Danbury Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Buddy Freeland.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ann Freeland; daughters, Linda Ann Parm of Burton, Texas, Brenda Sue LeCour, Judy Lynn Freeland, Lisa Kay Fregeau all of Danbury; sisters, Dorthy Kuchar & husband, Albert of Danbury, Myrtle Mae Freeland of Danbury, Margaret Penry of Cleveland; brother, John Freeland of Houston; grandchildren, John Alex Parm of San Marcos, Ashley Diane Oldhem and Jennifer Nicole Evans of Danbury.
Members of the Danbury Fire Department will serve as pallbearers.

JOHNNY FRANKLIN GIFFORD
Johnny Franklin Gifford, 80, of Lake Jackson, Texas passed away Saturday, July 13, 2002 at his residence.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at the Lakewood Funeral Chapel with Monsignor Leo Wleczyk of St. Michael's Catholic Church officiating.
A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2002, along with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
Military honors will follow at Graveside services.
Johnny was an area resident since 1947, a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII, a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, worked for Carnation Milk for 20 years, and retired from Dow Chemical Co. as an operator after 25 years.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Xavier Theresa Gifford of Lake Jackson; by seven children: Evelyn Laird of Lake Jackson, Kathryn Follett & husband, Jim of Angleton, Carolyn Gifford of Lake Jackson., Larry Gifford & wife, Rebecca of Clute, David Gifford & wife, Ladonna of Freeport, Patrick Gifford of Lake Jackson, and Gary Gifford & wife, Michelle of McKinney, Texas; by 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Fred Gifford & wife, Beverly of Austin.; and by three sisters: Jennie Lowe and husband, Kenneth of Nacogdoches, Texas, Jimmie Lou Connors & husband, Abe of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Betsy Schnell of Austin.
He was preceded in death by his sons, John Steven Gifford in 1974 and Robert Gifford in 1999.

SHIRLEY ANNE MARTIN HARRISON
Shirley Anne Martin Harrison, of Churchill, Texas, beloved wife and mother, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2002, after a long struggle with cancer.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, J.B.; her three sons: Jim Harrison of Uvalde, Randy Harrison of Shady Acres, and Jon Harrison of LaPorte.
She leaves six grandchildren; James, Randy, Rebekah Bridgmon, Regina Neurohr, Kevin, and Jacy and two great-grandchildren: Aeryal Neurohr and Jeremiah Bridgmon.
She also leaves behind her dear brother, Dick Martin of Shreveport, Louisiana.
Shirley enjoyed her home on the San Bernard River, spending many hours looking out to their bend of that slow waterway lined with old live oaks.
She loved to cook for her family, especially shrimp gumbo, fried shrimp and boiled blue crabs.
Over the years, Shirley hosted many family get-togethers at her home; these were some of her happiest moments.
Her grandchildren knew that her house was always full of wonderful things to eat, and of compassion.
Shirley loved all the members of her family and always strove to stay connected to their roots in Louisiana and Mississippi. \
Shirley is well-known and loved by many members of her community, all of whom will mourn her passing.
She was known for her generosity and compassion. Shirley and J.B.'s relationship was one of devotion.
They were high school sweethearts.
Some of her last statements were in concern for J.B., she never considered that she might not be able to take care of him for the rest of his life.
She and J.B. are longstanding residents of the Churchill Community as well as founding members of Churchill 1st Baptist Church.
There will be a memorial service on Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at 2:00 p.m., at Churchill 1st Baptist Church at 7160 FM 2918.
Memorials may be made to Brazosport Cancer Center or the Churchill 1st Baptist Church.
MR. WAYMON FARRELL 'DOC' LIVINGSTON
Mr. Waymon Farrell "Doc" Livingston, 57, of Freeport, Texas, died July 5, 2002, in Houston, Texas.
Mr. Livingston was born on July 29, 1944 in Tichnor, Arkansas, the son of Robert O. and Iva O. Livingston.
Mr. Livingston was employed as a Master Service Technician with W.P.I. incorporated.
Mr. Waymon served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962-1970.
He also served the community as a volunteer fireman in Taylor, Alabama and Oyster Creek, Texas.
He was a member of the N.R.A. and was very fond of his Ford Bronco.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert O. Livingston.
He is survived by his wife, Ronna Livingston of Freeport; three sons, Michael Wayne Livingston of Freeport, Jeffery Scott Livingston & wife, Sharon of Dothan, Alabama, and David Farrell Livingston & wife, Trina of Dothan, Alabama; three grandchildren, Brandon Scott Livingston, Tanner Lane Livingston, and Ansleigh Brooke Livingston; mother, Iva O. Livingston; three brothers, Melvin Rieves & wife, Doris of Arkansas, Walter Robert Livingston & wife, Lutie of Arkansas, and Van Ishmeal Livingston & wife, Nellie of Michigan; two sisters, Ilda Kena of California, and Juanita Humphrey & husband, Hyatt of Kentucky; also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 9, 2002 in the Chapel of Kent-Thornton Funeral Home, in Dothan, Alabama.
Officiating was the Rev. Eddie Littlefield.
Interment was immediately following the service at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Representatives from the U.S. Air Force were present to present the flag.
Asked to serve as pallbearers were David Sapp, Michael Perry, Harold Phillips, Robert Agerton, Ken Hamilton, and Allen Holley.

Visitation for Jocelyn Diane "J.D." Miller, age 22, of Angleton, will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton.

J.D. was born in Angleton, on January 10, 1980 to Tony Olan Miller and Dabbie Fay Brown.
She passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2002.
Her father precedes her in death.
She is survived by her grandparents, Glen & Thelma Jene Wasson of Angleton; daughters, Karyn Alisa Wall and Alaura Jane Price of Angleton, and mother, Dabbie Brown.

Wanda L. (Mom) Butler
Wanda L. (Mom) Butler, 69, of Lake Jackson, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at Park Plaza Hospital in Houston.
Wanda was an area resident for the past 46 years.
She was a member of Willow Drive Baptist Church.
She served in many capacities at Wal-Mart including district manager.
Wanda retired from Wal-Mart in 1997.
She was an advocate for Children's Miracle Network and organized many charitable benefits through Wal-Mart.
Wanda will be remembered for her generosity and hospitality and incredible compassion for others.
She is survived by seven children: Michael Butler & wife, Kay of Lake Jackson, Tony Butler & wife, Sharon of Houston, Cheryl Stewart & husband, Bruce of Texas City, Texas, Debra Jeffers & husband, Greg of Mansfield, Texas, Rebecca Ruen & husband, Joel of Iola, Texas, Kevin Butler & wife, Kathy of The Woodlands, Texas; Tammy Comeaux & husband, Russell of The Woodlands, Texas; 18 grandchildren and one on the way; two great-grandchildren.
She will also be greatly missed by a host of friends, including her special Wal-Mart group, "The Ladies".
She was preceded in death by her mother, Olene Spears in 1998, and her aunt, Bessie Shuffield in 2000, both of Hope, Arkansas.
Family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2002, at the Lakewood Chapel.
Funeral services will be 12 noon, Friday, July 19, 2002, at Willow Drive Baptist Church in Lake Jackson, with the Rev. E. Dale Lee officiating.
Pallbearers will be: Travis Jeffers, Matthew Butler, James Tutor, Michael Koleman, Jeff Luman, Mike Kramer.
