He will be carried to his final resting place in Iowa, by his cousins. They will be joined by Mike Svatek and Donald Payne, both of Lake Jackson and lifelong friends and fellow Aggies who truly shared Mark's brotherly love.
A celebration of Mark's life will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Lake Jackson on Saturday, September 18, at 11:00 a.m. It will include a mass at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception in the Family Life Center. All friends and family are strongly encouraged to come and share in this celebration of Mark's life.

Mark was an active member of both St. Michael's Peer Ministry in Lake Jackson, and St. Mary's Catholic Student Center at Texas A&M. He always had an outgoing personality, enjoyed life to its fullest and loved to dance as was evidenced by being voted the "Best Dancer" by his fellow classmates in their senior year at Brazoswood.
After high school, Mark attended the University of Iowa for one year, after which he returned to Texas, to become a proud, fighting Texas Aggie. He was currently in his senior year and had recently applied to law school. He will be honored at Silver Taps at the Quad on the Texas A&M campus on Tuesday, October 5 at 10:30 p.m. Silver Taps is a traditional ceremony held monthly at Texas A&M for fallen Aggies.
Friends and family can be consoled that Mark was in the company of his friends at A&M, just hours before he passed. He had also connected with family and friends in memorable ways in the past few months, including a trip to Iowa. His life here on earth ended just as he lived it...in loving connection with all of us.
