Enoch H. Cook
Enoch Hooper Cook, 94, formerly of Victoria, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003.
He was born to the late Middlebrook Selman and Rufie Pate Cook near Salado in Bell County. He graduated from Taft High School and received a BS in Chemistry from Southwestern University in Georgetown in 1931. He married Dorothy Mary Harris of Corpus Christi in 1934. For eight years he was an elementary principal in Taft. In 1941, he received a BS in Agriculture from Texas A&I in Kingsville. He served in the US Army during World War II and then served as an area supervisor for Farmers Home Administration for 30 years working in Bay City, Houston, Victoria, and in the Valley. In 1952, he received a Superior Service Award and a trip to Washington DC to meet President Truman. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the American Legion in Victoria.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Dorothy Harris Cook of Cuero; son, Don Selman Cook and wife, Rosemary Fife Cook, of Georgetown; daughters, Sue Cook Halbert of Cuero, formerly of Austin, and Jan Cook Wilson and husband, Chuck, of Cuero; and caretaker and family friend, Callie Williams. He is also survived by grandchildren, Gregory Cook of Houston; Marion Cook of Georgetown; Emily Halbert Peppers and husband, Donald, of Austin; Robert Wade Wilson and wife, Jennifer Berger, of Brenham; and Douglas Paul Wilson and wife, Melissa Luker, of Houston.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, R. S. Cook and J. W. Cook; sister, Edith Cook Caswell; and son, Enoch H. “Jack” Cook, Jr.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 26 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Freund Funeral home. Funeral services and burial will be in Memory Hill Cemetery, Austin, on Friday, Nov. 28, at 3 p.m. under the direction of Freund Funeral Home, 361-275-2343.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Robert R. Kullin
Robert R. Kullin, 79, of Cuero, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003.
He was born on August 24, 1924 in Gonzales County to the late Richard and Sara Barfield Kullin. He served in the U. S. Air Force during World War II. He was the former owner and operator of Corpus Christi Drilling Company was an oil and gas drilling contractor. He was a member of Corpus Christi Elk’s Lodge.
He is survived by his daughters, Tina Gardner of China Spring and Kathie Holdbrook of Clyde; son, Kim Kullin of Corpus Christi; sister, Sarah Marie Holmes of Austin; brother, Jack Kullin of Harlingen; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Preceded in death by: one sister; and two brothers.
Visitation was Saturday, Nov. 23 at Freund Funeral Home. Graveside services were Monday at Bellevue Cemetery in DeWitt County. Freund Funeral Home, Cuero, 361-275-2343.

Simon M. Trevino
Simon M. Trevino, 91, of Cuero, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003.
He was born Oct. 25, 1912. He worked for the Street Department for the City of Cuero and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Survivors: daughter, Noemi Rodriguez of Cuero; sisters, Arcadia Maldonado, Josephine Maldonado and Beatrice Anzaldua, all of Amarillo; brothers, Abel Trevino of Cuero, Joe Trevino of Point Comfort, and Fred Trevino of Victoria; and two grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: wife, Soledad Aguilar Trevino; and sisters, Consuelo Sustaita and Carmen Pompa.
A rosary was recited Wednesday, Nov. 26 at Freund Funeral Home Chapel. Services were Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, the Rev. Kirby Hlavaty officiated. Burial was at Hillside Cemetery. Freund Funeral Home, Cuero, 361-275-2343.

Theresa Gonzales Garcia
Theresa Gonzales Garcia, formerly of Victoria, passed away on October 27, 2003, after a long illness.
She was born in Cuero on Oct. 15, 1915, the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria Cantu Gonzales.
She is survived by her loving son, Gerald “Jerry” Garcia and loving granddaughter, Allison Bridgett Garcia of Houston. In addition she is survived by her brothers, Manuel Gonzales and his wife Dee, Pete Gonzales and his wife Mary, Joe Gonzales and wife Elie, and Richard Gonzales and wife Mackey; sisters, Phelia Coggins, Hortense Moya, and May Fox and husband Melvin.
She was preceded in death by her sister Minnie Henson.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 26 at 10 a.m. at Freund Funeral Home in Cuero.

Cecilia D. Sauer, 81, of Victoria, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003.
She was born on October 27, 1922 in Victoria to the late Benjamino and Christina Rigamonti Zandonatti. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Hanning of Cedaredge, Colorado, and Arleen Judd and Cindy Heibel, both of Victoria; sister, Christine Haschke of Goliad; brother, James Zandonatti of Victoria; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rubin G. Sauer; daughter, Debbie Hess; parents; and brothers, Clement Zandonatti, Ferdinand Zandonatti, Ferdinando Zandonatti, and Raymond Zandonatti.

Vernell Alex, 71, of Yorktown, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003.
She was born Dec. 24, 1931, in Westhoff, to the late Adolph and Sophie Guenther Hilbrich. She was a homemaker and a member of New Life Baptist Church.

Pauline Wells, 78, of Cuero, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003.
She was born May 6, 1925 in Griffithville, Arkansas, to the late William Boyd and Mary Elizabeth Wallbraun Riner. She was a homemaker and a member of the VFW Auxiliary and First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Egg of Houston; sons, Wayne Wells of Fredericksburg and Keith Wells of Corpus Christi; sisters, Margaret I. Gaines of Searcy, Arkansas, and Mary B. Dodd of Nacogdoches; brother, William B. Riner Jr. of Heber Springs, Arkansas; and 8 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis David Wells Jr.; daughter, Paulette Stone; parents; and brothers, Elmo Riner, Doss Riner, Eugene Riner, and Leroy Riner.

Myrtie Joyce Jackson Dunn, 81, of Cuero, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003.
She was born October 18, 1922 in Ralls to the late Jesse Wilburn and Adele Lloyd Jackson. She was a fourth grade teacher for the Cuero Independent School District. She volunteered at C.A.M.A.L. House and Family Outreach. She was a member of the University Club, Retired Teachers Association, and the First Presbyterian Church where she was an ordained Elder, sang in the choir, and was a member of the Evening Circle #3.
She is survived by her husband, Pat Dunn; daughter, Dr. Laurie Ann Dunn of St. Paul, Minnesota; daughter-in-law, Carmen Amezaga of Bacliff; sons, Blake Dunn and wife Kathy of Meyersville and Miles Dunn and wife Karen of Victoria; brother, Perry L. Jackson of Houston; sister, Kathryn Jackson of Houston; and grandchildren, Summer Helms, Wes Dunn, Amanda Dunn, Kartina Amin, and Eric A. Dunn.
She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen L. Dunn; parents; sister, Mary L. Kleinecke; and brother, Wilburn H. Jackson.

Emily Wolf Mullins, 93, of Nordheim, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003.
She was born March 9, 1910, in Nordheim, to the late John and Minna Charpentier Wolf. She was retired owner of Amo & Andy Cafe in Nordheim from 1931-1989. She was member of Nordheim Shooting Club, Hermann Sons Lodge, Bunco Bells, Women's Auxiliary of the Nordheim Fire Department and St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was charter member of the Nordheim Garden Club.
Survivors: sister, Angel Lee Harbers of Nordheim.
Preceded in death by: husband, John E. Mullins; sisters, Helen Arnold, Minnie Weise, Tonie Weise, Louise Wolf, Hertha Metz, Emma Michalk, Annie Trautwein and Amalia Karnei; and brothers, Ernest "Honeyboy" Wolf and Johnny Wolf.
