Lillian Carmel Aldis, 86, of Cuero, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003.
She was born on April 20, 1917 in Pope, Arkansas, to the late Joseph W. Laywell and John Willie Torrence Aldis. She was a textile mill weaver and worked at the Senior Citizen’s kitchen in Cuero. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughters, Patsy A. Striedel of Cuero and Linda K. Pickett of Corpus Christi; sons, Wesley L. Aldis of Victoria and James E. Aldis of Abilene; sister, Edith Cornelius of Texarkana; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley S. Aldis, and parents.
Visitation was Saturday, Nov. 15 at Freund Funeral Home Chapel. Services were Sunday at the funeral home chapel, the Rev. Jim Daniel officiated. Burial was at Hillside Cemetery. Freund Funeral Home, Cuero, 361-275-2343.

Dolores Sierra Sr.
Dolores Sierra Sr., 73, of Yorktown, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2003.
He was born Jan. 21, 1930, in San Diego, Texas, to the late Arturo and Santos Cantu Sierra. He was a retired farmer and construction worker. He was a Catholic.
Survivors: daughters, Betty Sierra of Yorktown and Eva Vasquez of Placedo; sons, Dolores Sierra Jr. of California, Arnulfo Sierra of Yorktown, Albert Sierra of Clovis, New Mexico, and Henry Sierra and Johnny Sierra, both of Victoria; sister, Mary Torres of San Antonio; brother, Juan Sierra of Lubbock; 22 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: wife, Manuela Estrada Sierra; son, Louis Sierra; sisters, Concha Sierra, Josefina Pina, and Rosa Rangel; and brothers, Cruz Sierra, Adolfo Sierra, and Poncho Sierra.

Mary E. Arnold
Mary E. Arnold died November 7, 2003.
Mary Emily Arnold was born May 6, 1918 in Nursery to Peter and Selma Boehm Forster She married James K. Arnold in 1938 and they were blessed with six children. She was a homemaker and a wonderful seamstress. Mary and James were the owners of K.N. Drive-In from 1960 to 1980. She was a very loving and devoted mother and wife. Mary stayed active throughout her life, always putting others first.
She was preceded in death by husband, James K. Arnold; son, Ken Arnold; granddaughters, De De Koenig, Kathleen Kacir, and Avery Apodackis; parents; and brother, Peter Forster Jr.
Mary and James have left behind a loving family, Dorothy and Don Koenig, Anna and Mike Frers, Mary Beth Arnold and Terry Stock, Susie and Jerry Dreyer, Chrissie and Kenneth West; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Olga Pruitt, Agnes Forster, Edith Gilmore, and Ella May Barber. She was be missed by many and remembered by all who knew her. May we all follow in her footsteps and make James and Mary proud.

Ida Koenning
Ida Koenning, 92, of Westhoff, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003.
She was born Dec. 9, 1910 in Sample, Gonzales County, to the late Alvin and Janie Frels Koehler. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Westhoff and the St. John’s Ladies Aid Society.
Ida is survived by her daughter, Margie Ann Dickerson of Victoria; son and daughter-in-law, Otto Lee and Delores Koenning of Westhoff; sister, Edna Hattenbach of Westhoff; granddaughters, Rhonda Scheffel, Dee Dee Canion, Debbie Dickerson, and Denice Lambert; and great-grandchildren, Stephanie Charbula, Briana Griffin, Kayln Griffin, and Clayton Canion.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Otto Fred Koenning; and her sisters, Lillie Hilbrich, Lena Pakebusch Mueller, and Lillian Koehler.
Visitation was Tuesday, Nov. 11 at Freund Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Westhoff, with Rev. William Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Westhoff Cemetery under the direction of Freund Funeral Home, Cuero, 361-275-2343.

Robert “Bob” Frank Pustejovsky
Robert “Bob” Frank Pustejovsky, 87, of Cuero, died November 4, 2003.
He was born on February 4, 1916 in Lavaca County to the late John and Mary Tesar Pustejovsky. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a maintenance repairman for Hotel Supply Co. and helped repair the concrete at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans of San Antonio and St. Michael Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife Ludmilla Kneifel Pustejovsky of Cuero; sisters, Emily Petru and Lorene Hajek, both of Shiner, and Rose Bujnoch of Houston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation was Wednesday, Nov. 5 at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel. A rosary was also recited Wednesday at the funeral home chapel. Services were Thursday at Sts. Dale Ross Roby, 42, of Cuero, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003.
He was born Feb. 14, 1961, in Goldthwaite, to Weldon G. Roby and Delores Migura Weaver, both of Cuero. He was a painter and member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.
Survivors: daughters, Dale Leeann Roby of Pearland and Lana Kay Roby of Cuero; stepsister, Margie Schwartz; brothers, Alan Roby of Victoria and Justin Roby of Richmond; stepbrothers, Robert Weaver and Danny Weaver; and grandmother, Elna Biggs of Cuero.

Jimmie Dee Dodds, 74, of Nordheim, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003.
He was born Oct. 7, 1929, in Edna, to the late William and Lela Gregory Dodds. He was a retired oilfield supervisor and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors: daughters, Kathy Sutton of Victoria and Tina McDonald of Edna; sons, Ricky Dodds and Jimmie Dodds Jr., both of Victoria, Michael Dodds of Seguin, Tim Dodds of Nordheim and Craig Dodds of Edna; sisters, Laura Faye Hasenkamp of New Braunfels and Ella Mae Brock of Alvin; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Clinton T. Wright
Clinton T. Wright, 83, of Cuero, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004.
He was born Feb. 16, 1920, in Nixon, to the late Thomas Eugene and Lela Ethredge Wright. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He worked for Guadalupe Textile Company for 25 years and was retired from the City of Cuero. He served as chief of police for seven years, worked with the City of Cuero Electrical Department, and was Sexton of Hillside Cemetery. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 409, VFW No. 3972, and Union Valley Baptist Church.
Survivors: wife, Lois Beatrice Harris Wright; sister, Erma McCracken of Nixon; and brother, Homer Wright of Cuero.
Preceded in death by: parents and brothers, Eugene Wright and Jack Wright.

Helen B. Howe
Helen B. Howe, 94, of Cuero, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004.
She was born July 4, 1909, in Cuero, to the late Edwin C. and Caroline Kramer Barnard. She was personal manager for Sears and a member of Eastern Star Chapter No. 618 O.E.S. in Cuero.
Survivors: husband, Howard H. Howe; sons, Charles Benton of Cuero and Barnard Benton of Galveston; and four grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: parents; brothers, John Barnard and James Barnard; and grandson, James Douglas Benton.
