Herbert H. Hahn, 84, of Yorktown, died Tuesday, May 18, 2004.
He was born Jan. 29, 1920, in Westhoff, to the late Fred G. and Anna Born Hahn. He was a farmer and rancher and a member of the DeWitt County Farm Bureau and the Independent Cattlemen's Association. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Survivors: wife, Elorine Gerhardt Hahn; daughters, Mary Ressman of Yorktown and Sandy Hahn of Houston; sons, Fred Hahn and Harvey Joe Hahn, both of Yorktown; sisters, Olivia Hay, Ann Adix, and Winona (Toni) Metting, all of Yorktown; brother, Edward Hahn of Yorktown; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: brother, Raymond Hahn.

Ruth C. Weber
Ruth Carter Weber, 83, of Yoakum, died Thursday, May 20, 2004.
She was born March 20, 1921, in Cheapside, to the late Faires and Alma Lord Carter. She was a retired insurance agent and a Chartered Life Underwriter. She was a Sunday School teacher and church librarian at First Baptist Church in Cuero and Yoakum, and a member of First Baptist Church in Yoakum.
Survivors: son, Garlan Weber of Yoakum; and one grandchild, Morgan Weber.
Preceded in death by: husband, Marion "Bub" Weber; and son, Harold Weber.

Florine Hensley Luedecke
Florine Hensley Luedecke, 89, of Cuero, died Friday, May 21, 2004.
She was born in Dewville on April 25, 1915 to the late John Saul and Lily Barnes Hensley. She was a homemaker and a member of the Women’s Society of Christian Service, AARP, and the United Methodist Church of Cuero.
She is survived by her husband, Elton luedecke of Cuero; sons Elton Henry Luedecke Jr. and wife Pat of Rockport, John Edwards Luedecke and wife Debbie of Destin, Florida, Richard Lynn Luedecke and wife Glenda of Houston, and Chris Allen Luedecke and wife Becky of Pearland; grandchildren, Mark Brian Luedecke, Keri Bowen, Andy luedecke, Scott Luedecke, Ricky Luedecke, Kevin Luedecke, Amy Pederson, Gary Luedecke, and Craig Luedecke; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 12 brothers and sisters.
Visitation was Monday, May 24 at Finch Chapel in Nixon. Services were also Monday at Finch Chapel, the Rev. Ron Welborn officiated. Burial was at Nixon Cemetery. Finch Funeral Chapel, Nixon, 830-582-1521.

Elaine Nesbitt, 57, of Yorktown, died Sunday, May 23, 2004.
She was born Feb. 11, 1947, in Yorktown, to Nadia Hoefling of Yorktown and the late Alvin Migura. She was a teacher's aide and a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Survivors: daughter, Stephanie Smith of Wichita Falls; son, Mike Nesbitt of Norman, Oklahoma; brother, Michael Migura of Yorktown; and three grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: former husband, Steve Nesbitt.

Martin Eldridge Jr.
Martin Eldridge Jr., 57, of Cuero, died Monday, May 24, 2004.
He was born August 12, 1946, in DeWitt County to the late Martin Sr. and Georgia Meadow Eldridge. He was a certified service technician for Coca-Cola Bottling for 28 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Ross Eldridge; daughter, Daphne Michele Eldridge; sons, Martin (Red) Eldridge III and John Eldridge; sister, Joyce Ann Williams of Cuero; brothers, Willie Eldridge of California, James Henry Brawley of Cuero, Clyde Lee Brawley of Houston, and Timothy Edwards of San Antonio; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Larry Wayne Lincke, 61, of Cuero, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004.
He was born Feb. 18, 1943, in Yorktown, to the late Willie C. and Hilda Domann Lincke. He was a wood worker for Gulf Coast Wood Products and K-P Cabinets. He was a lifetime member of the National Guard Association of Texas, a member of the National Guard in Cuero, and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.
Survivors: wife, Beverly Hahn Lincke; and brother, Charles D. Lincke of Victoria.

She was born Sept. 28, 1925, in Gonzales, to the late Wiley Freeland and Ruby Winiferd Cowey Bishop. She was a homemaker.
Survivors: husband, Hays Parker; daughter, Robin Dawn Blackburn of Huntsville; sons, Kevin Parker and Leland Troy Parker, both of Houston, and A. Hays Parker of Pineville, Louisiana; sister, Audrey L. Davenport of Luling; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Doris P. B. Ater
Doris Pamela Buchel Ater, 87, of Cuero, died Friday, May 14, 2004.
She was born in Cuero on Oct. 8, 1916 to the late Fred W. and Susie B. Taylor Buchel. She graduated from Mary Hardin Baylor with a Bachelor of Science degree and taught school in the Cuero ISD for 30 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, pamela Fritsch of Wimberly; sons Jack Ater of Watagua and Fred Ater of Richardson; sisters-in-law, Carmel Buchel of Cuero and Sarah Lillian Glenn of Galveston; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, A. C. Ater; parents; sisters, Demirse Hanchey and Lollie Crouch; and brother, Fred T. Buchel.

Martha Banda Olvera
Martha Banda Olvera passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 12, 2004.
Mrs. Olvera was born Jan. 19, 1923 in Yorktown.
She is survived by her sons, Albert Olvera Jr. and wife Maria, Jesse Olvera and wife Ida, and John Olvera; brother, Thomas Band and wife Connie of Cuero; sisters, Pauline Banda of Victoria, Carmen Banda Moreno and husband Bernardo of Santa Fe, Texas, Maria Banda of Angleton; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of more than fifty years, Albert Olvera Sr.
Visitation was held Friday, May 14 in the Memorial Room of Broadway Funeral Home in Galveston. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, May 14, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Galveston, Fr.
