Erlinda Eva Barron
Erlinda Eva Barron, 48, of Texas City, and formerly of Cuero, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004.
She was born Aug. 11, 1956 in Cuero to the late Pedro and Aurora Cano Garcia. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Nabor Barron; daughter, Melissa Cross of Plano; sons, Nabor Barron II of Cuero, Ricky Garcia of Victoria, and Aaron Barron of Texas City; sisters, Mickie Reyna and Rosemary Villarreal, both of Texas City; brother, Johnny Garcia of Texas City; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Adrian Rosales and Pete Rosales.
A prayer service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Jerusalem Baptist Church, with Rev. Teo Cisneros and Rev. Dan Cancino officiating. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Cuero. Freund Funeral Home, Cuero, 361-275-2343.
Jake Mueller Sr.
Jake Mueller Sr., 57, of Seguin, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004.
He was born on Feb. 20, 1947 in Cuero to Willard Herman and Connie Mueller. He was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his mother, Connie Mueller of Seguin; wife of 36 years, Audry Mueller of Seguin; son Jake Mueller Jr. and wife Misty of Seguin; daughter, Brenda Bretzke and husband Bobby of New Braunfels; grandsons, Colby and Caleb Mueller of Seguin; granddaughter, Hailey Bretzke of New Braunfels; brother, Mike Mueller and wife Carolyn of San Antonio; sisters, Vera Tyl and husband Danny of Cuero and Sandra Norton of Seguin; brother-in-law, Ernest Alsobrooks; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willard H. Mueller and his sister, Rita Alsobrooks.
Visitation was Thursday, Sept. 9 at Goetz Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian burial was recited Friday, Sept. 10 at St. James Catholic Church, Rev. Dennis Darilek officiated. Eugene Stratmann
Eugene "Gene" Stratmann, 70, of Cuero, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004.
He was born Aug. 19, 1934, in Yoakum, to the late Elo Henry and Sophie Boening Stratmann. He worked for Texas Eastern Gas for 28 years and was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Cuero.
Survivors: wife, Jo Ann Feller Stratmann; daughter, Wanda Kaiser of Yoakum; sons, Gerry Stratmann of Dayton, Toby Stratmann of Baytown, and Scott Stratmann of Victoria; brothers, Lawrence Stratmann of Baytown and Roy Stratmann of Wichita, Kansas; and 11 grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: parents and brothers, Allen Stratmann and Johnny Stratmann.

Neal H. Mueller
Neal H. Mueller, 80, passed away at his home on Friday, Sept. 24, 2004.
He was born July 27, 1924 in Westhoff to the late A. J. and Clara Gaedke Mueller. He was co owner of Mitchell Glass Co., a family owned business for many years. He was active in farming and ranching in Victoria County. Mr. Mueller enjoyed traveling with his wife. He was also an active member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church.
Mr. Mueller is survived by his loving wife, Luella Tieken Mueller; daughter, Judy Jabbour and her husband, Stephen; son, Bobby Mueller, and his wife, Peggy, all of Victoria; a sister, Sylvia Ann Davis of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Tiffany Mueller, Crystal Mueller and Amber Mueller.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Mueller was preceded in death by his brothers, Willard Mueller and Harry Lee Mueller, and a great-granddaughter, Kamri Mueller.

Thelma Jane Krueger
Thelma Jane Krueger, 87, of Cuero, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004.
She was born on April 17, 1917 in Guadalupe County to the late George Wilson and Etta Leona Wright Thompson. She graduated valedictorian of her class in Kingsbury. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by daughters, Patsy Goebel of Cuero, Susan E. Krueger of Sulphur, Louisiana, and Ann Watson of Dale; son, E. Carl Krueger of Cuero; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Krueger; parents; four sisters; and seven brothers.

Harold F. Hartman
Harold F. Hartman, 79, of Victoria, passed away on Sept. 20, 2004.
His life began Aug. 10, 1925 in Meyersville, Texas, being born to the late Edwin F. and Helen Diebel Hartman. Harold served in the U.S. Army in Germany during World War II and the Occupation. He was a survivor of the Battle of the Bulge, earning a Purple Heart Medal, several ribbons and two Bronze Stars. He was a life-long Victoria car salesman and the founder of Hartman Auto Sales in Victoria. He was a member of Christ the Victor Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 166.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Vernell Gerbert Hartman; daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Rickey Herring of Victoria, Connie and Gary Prukop of Rockport, and Debbie and John Webb of Victoria; sons and daughters-in-law, Butch and Debra Hartman, of Victoria, and Dale and Jacqueline Hartman of Victoria; nine grandchildren; and sister, Helen Mae Egg of Meyersville.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Edrie Sager; brothers, Fred R. Hartman and Hilmer Hartman; and two infant daughters.

Troy A. Klaus
Troy Allen Klaus, 20, of Cuero, died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2004.
He was born Sept. 13, 1984, in Victoria, to Larry and Laurie Tieken Klaus of Cuero. He graduated from Cuero High School in 2003 and was employed by Rath Propane Co. in Cuero. He was also a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.
Survivors: grandparents, Joyce Eichholz Klaus and Roland Sr. and Velda Lieck Tieken, all of Cuero; and sister, Michelle Klaus of Cuero.
Preceded in death by: grandfather, Mancel L. Klaus.

Lee R. Griffin Jr.
Lee Roy Griffin Jr., 67, of Yorktown, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2004 with his wife and children by his side.
He was born on Dec. 24, 1936, in Texas City to the late Mr. and Mrs. Lee Roy Griffin Sr. He retired in 1997 after 32 years as owner/editor of The Yorktown News. He had also taken ownership in Griffin's Tiny Market from 1979-1987, after the death of his father, who established the business. He was an active leader of the community, having served 12 years on the Yorktown City Council and one year as the City Municipal Judge. He served 10 years as the director of the Yorktown Community Hall, and nine years as the director of the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce. In addition, he also served on the Yorktown Little League Board of Directors, as well as the Yorktown Country Club Board of Directors. He served with the Yorktown Lions Club, Yorktown Jaycee's, the Knights of Columbus, and as a Catholic Life Insurance Officer, along with many other groups and organizations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Roy Griffin Sr., of Yorktown.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jo Ann Griffin; a sister, Carol Schroller of Yorktown; sons, Stephen Griffin of Victoria, GySgt. Allen Griffin of Chesapeake, Virginia; and Andy Griffin of Yorktown; daughters, Dianne Rangnow of Yorktown; Linda Vasquez of Matthews, North Carolina; Susan Rodriguez of Yorktown, Mary Ann Buchanan of Hutto; Marilyn Jehl of Austin; and Crystal Brown of Austin; 22 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was born July 28, 1927, in DeWitt County, to the late Casimiro and Guadalupe Galindo Garza. He was a carpenter and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
