Evie L. Adcock
Evie L. Adcock, 90, of Cuero, died Sunday, July 28, 2002.
She was born in Thomaston on December 12, 1911 to the late R. M. and Lillie Jones Adcock. She worked at Brentex Mills for over 30 years. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Cuero.
She is survived by her brother, Tommy Adcock of Pleasanton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Ollie Harris, MEdina Harwood, Eva Pearson, and Lucy Kohutek; brothers, John Adcock, Dave Adcock, Bill Adcock, and Cal Adcock.
Visitation was Tuesday, July 30 at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 31 at 10 a.m. at Freund Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. David Washburn officiated. Burial will follow at Thomaston Cemetery. Freund Funeral Home, Cuero, 361-275-2343.

Mary Nava
Mary Nava, 79, of Cuero, died Sunday, July 28, 2002.
She was born in Kenedy on December 15, 1912 to the late Isabel Ramirez and Catherine Garza. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
She is survived by daughter, Catherine Mungia of Temple; sons, Ernest Nava Sr., Joe Nava Jr. and Benny Nava, all of Cuero; sisters, Inez Zuniga of Corpus Christi, Enez Soto of Houston, and Paula Ramirez of Cuero; brothers, Florentino Ramireiz of Cuero and Faustino Ramirez of Lubbock; 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
A rosary was said Tuesday, July 30 at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, July 31 at 2 p.m., Rev. Michael Lyons will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Freund Funeral Home, Cuero, 361-275-2343.
Roland A. Pieper
Roland Alfred Pieper, 78, of Cuero, died Wednesday July 17, 2002.
He was born March 17, 1924, in Ander, to the late Louis J. and Agatha Luder Pieper. He was a truck driver and member of American Legion in Cuero. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Survivors: wife, Eulah Pieper, of Cuero; daughters, Vicky O'Hara of Fort Benton, Montana, and Judy Kenner of Great Falls, Montana; son, Rand Pieper of Forks, Washington; step-son, Dennis Snellenberger of Austin; sister, Irma Nell Schustereit of Victoria; brother, Edmund Pieper of Schroeder; eleven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: sister, Lenora Roell; and parents.

Robert Jackson
Robert Jackson, 63, of Cuero, died Saturday, July 13, 2002.
He was born August 26, 1938 in Thomaston to the late Cato Sr. and Julia Barnes Jackson. He was a ranch hand.
He is survived by daughters, Sharon McGee of Houston and Robbi Jackson of Austin; son, Terry Jackson of Austin; sisters, Hildred Tucker, Rose Henderson, and Callie Williams, all of Cuero, and Virginia Sanders of New Jersey; brothers, Cato Jackson Jr. of Cuero, Tillman Jackson of Thomaston, Jerry Jackson of San Antonio, and Charles Jackson Jr. of Bloomington; and seven grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Caroline Jackson.

Olevia I. Monroe
Olevia Ivymae Monroe, 81, of Cuero, died Friday, July 19, 2002.
She was born in Opelousas, Louisiana on September 20, 1920 to the late George and Susie Lewis. She was a homemaker and a member of New Testament Holiness Church.
She is survived by daughters, Ninaye Body and Joyce Screws, both of Cuero; sons, Hosea Monroe of Carrollton, Georgia, and James Monroe of Opelousas, Louisiana; and twenty grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Monroe Sr.; parents; daughter, Irma Rose Monroe; and sons, Joe Raylan Hayes, Glenn David Monroe, and Henry Monroe Jr.

Ruth Turner Minton
Ruth Turner Minton, 92, of Cuero, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000.
She was born Dec. 27, 1907, in New Orleans, La., to the late Rylie and Maria Battles Turner. She was a nurse and a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Survivors: nephews, Jim Turner of Chickamauga, Ga. and Ted Aven of Westhoff.
Preceded in death by: parents; husband, Earl Minton; son, Jimmie Minton; one sister; and several brothers.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date at Christ Presbyterian Church in Victoria. Freund Funeral Home of Cuero was in charge of the arrangements.
Judy Cunningham
Judy Cunningham, 56, of Overland Park, Kansas, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000.
She was born Feb. 3 1944, in Marion County, Missouri. to the late Richard Ellsworth and Sophia Louise Sultzman Conner. She was a bank clerk, homemaker, and supporter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Survivors: daughter, Davina Dawn Cunningham Vitt, of Raymondville, Missouri; son, Christopher Nelson Cunningham, of Overland Park, Kansas; granddaughter, Amanda Vitt; granddaughter, Amy Vitt; sister, Janice Mae Conner Carlson, of Crown Pointe, Indiana; sister, Jeanne Ann Conner Hudgeons, of Port Lavaca; sister, Jeanette Marie Conner Fisher, of Griffith, Indiana; niece, Julie Ann Hudgeons Burnham; nephew, John Richard Hudgeons of Cuero; and nephew, James Travis Hudgeons, of Austin.
Preceded in death by her parents.
Services were in Overland Park, Kansas, on Friday.

Catherine L. Mayer, 53, of Lake Jackson, formerly of Cuero, died Feb. 21, 2000.
She is survived by her husband, Travis Mayer, of Lake Jackson; one sister, Carol Lynn Hillen of Maryland; two brothers, Ray Hillen and wife Carol Ann of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Fred Hillen and wife, Peggy L. of Fargo, North Dakota; six children, Glenn French and wife Becky of Sterling Heights, Michigan, Mark Allen French and wife Belinda of Dixon, Missouri, Allen Mayer and wife Natalin of Victoria, Robin Klekar and husband Dennis of Hallettsville, Michael Mayer of Victoria, and Darren Scott Mayer and wife, Josey, of Beeville.
Visitation was held Thursday at the Lakewood Chapel.
Funeral Services were Friday also at the Lakewood Chapel.
Pall Bearers were her family.
Bobby Holman
Bobby Holman, 64, of Cuero, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000.
He was born April 5, 1935, in DeWitt County, to the late Bobby and Katie Battles Holman.
Survivors: aunt, Freda Strait of Cuero; and first cousins.
Graveside services were Saturday at Lockhart Cemetery.

Howard Anderson Sr.
Howard Anderson Sr., 82, of Cuero, and formerly of Nordheim, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000.
He was born Dec. 11, 1917, in Runge, to the late Jacob and Andra Lee Phillips Anderson. He was a retired maintenance worker at Conoco Gas Plant after 10 years of service. Conoco Gas Plant after 10 years He was a senior citizens bus driver for over six years and a farmer.
Survivors: daughters, Mary Franklin and Georgia King, both of Victoria, Maxine Galloway of Corpus Christi, and Betty Davis of San Antonio; stepdaughters, Mary Pickens of Cuero, Lillian Ellis of Victoria, Laura Ann McKinnon of San Antonio and Shirley McNickles of Houston, son Howard Anderson of Corpus Christi; stepsons, Larry Pickens and Don Pickens, both of Cuero, and Michael Pickens of Houston; sisters, Rose Wallace and Mary Foster, both of Long Beach, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: wives, Comelia Ann Sullivan Anderson and Thelma Lou Pickens Anderson, stepson ; parents; two sisters; two brothers, and one great -grandchild.
Visitation was Friday at Lamprecht-Janssen Funeral Home Chapel.
Services were Saturday at the funeral home chapel, the Rev. Herbert Smith officiating.
Burial will be at Runge Cemetery. Pallbearers: Sylvester Ellis, Wayne Sullivan, Larry Sullivan, Sidney Battles, Larry Pickins and Howard Anderson III.
