Virginia D. Fetters, 72, of Cuero, died Wednesday, June 19, 2002.
She was born September 6, 1929, in Mission Valley, to the late David R. and Irene Bluntzer Dreyer. She worked as a sales clerk at Moo-Moo Milk Stores and was a homemaker. She was a member of DeWitt County Wildflower Association, Legion of Mary, St. Michael's Altar Society, Democratic Women of Texas, Tops Texas 1230, and St. Michael's Catholic Church. She was a docent for the DeWitt Historical Museum. She served as Scout leader for the Paisano Girl Scout Council and was a recipient of the Bishop Fury Award in 1972.

Alonzo Sierra, 58, of Meyersville, died Wednesday, June 19, 2002.
He was born April 17, 1944, in Meyersville, to Benita Estrada Sierra and the late Adolfo Sierra. He was a retired carpenter and member of San Luis Catholic Church.
Survivors: wife, Estela Corpus Sierra; daughters, Elsie Gonzales of Cuero and Michelle Jones of Victoria; sons, Angel Sierra of Fort Hood at Killeen; Alonzo Sierra Jr. of Bay City and Chad Sierra of Fort Knox, Ky.; mother; sisters, Lydia Brown of California; Florinda Sierra and Sylvia Ramos, both of Victoria; Gloria Centeno of San Diego and Connie Schneider of Port Arthur; brothers, Reynaldo Sierra, Jim Sierra, Ruben Sierra, Alfred Sierra and Lucio Sierra, all of Victoria and Robert Sierra and Alex Sierra, both of Meyersville; and six grandchildren.

Alvera Noster Sievers
Alvera Noster Sievers, 93 of Yorktown, Texas passed away June 22, 2002 in Yorktown.
She was born December 28, 1908 in Victoria, Texas to Fritz and Lillie Fey Noster. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended Nazareth Academy in Victoria, Victoria Public Schools and the Yorktown Public Schools when her family moved there. She worked as a saleslady in Nau Dry Goods Store. She married Alvin F. Sievers on April 7, 1929 in Yorktown. Alvera was active in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Yorktown where she was a member.
Alvera was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1977, sister Agnes Heldt and brother Leslie Noster.
She is survived by sons Marvin Ray Sievers and wife Beth of Yorktown, Arvid Gail Sievers and wife Kitty of Yorktown, and Larry Wayne Sievers and wife Collin of Katy. Alvera has eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren. She is also survived by niece Fay Holt and husband Darden and family; sister-in-law Clara Ann Noster and sons.
Family visitation was Monday, June 24 at Lamprecht-Janssen Funeral Home. Funeral services were Tuesday at Lamprecht-Janssen Funeral Home with, Rev. Edwina Baethge officiated. Eloyd Trevino, Jr.
Eloyd Trevino, Jr., age 39, of Cuero, died Sunday, June 16, 2002.
He was born on April 2, 1963 to Eloyd Sr. and Tillie Trevino, of Cuero. He was an electrical engineer for Commercial Plants. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Hernandez Trevino; daughter, Elicia Trevino of Cuero; son, Nicholas Trevino of Cuero; grandchild, Emerald Trevino; mother, Tillie Trevino; father and step-mother, Eloyd Sr. and Inez Trevino; sisters, Sylvia Ann Rickman of Victoria, Sally Lee of Cuero, and Debbie Trevino of Round Rock; and brother, David Wayne Trevino.

John Mark Heine
John Mark Heine, 40, of Cuero, died Saturday, September 28, 2002.
He was born January 25, 1962, in Elgin, to Marion Keber Heine of Victoria and the late Carlyle Fritz Heine. He was an equipment operator for Paka Construction of Yoakum.
Survivors: son, Justin Carlyle Heine and Jacob William Heine, both of Odessa; mother; sister, Melissa Ann Wolchik of Hillsboro, Ore.; and brothers, Henry Christopher Heine of Buckeye, Ariz., Carl Arthur Heine of Victoria, Donald William Heine Rosanky and Thomas Edward Heine of Shiner.

Bette Jo Henneke
Bette Jo Henneke, 77, of Cuero, died Tuesday, October 1, 2002.
She was born April 16, 1925, in Tulsa, Okla., to the late Roy Martin and Irma Skelton Logsdon Henbest. She was a sergeant in the Women's Army Air Corp during WWII. She retired from Texas Department of Human Resources and a past member of American Legion Dinter Post and Cuero VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors: daughter, Diane Marie Chang of Rockville, Md.; son, Lawrence E. Henneke Jr. of Victoria; and four grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: husband, Lawrence Edward Henneke; and parents.

Dominga Betty Jones, 63, of Cuero, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002.
She was born Feb. 5, 1939, in Cuero, to the late Antonio and Gregoria Boconegra Garibay. She was a homemaker.

Mildred Arnold, 82, of Cuero, died Wednesday, October 2, 2002.
She was born in Weser on November 29, 1919 to the late Basiel and Emilie Zengerle Dreyer. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of Auxiliary, and a 4-H Leader. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by daughters, Doris Waskow of Meyersville, Claudia Deborah of Beaumont, and Barbara Audilet of Yorktown; son, Raymond Arnold of Meyersville; sister, Alice Onken; brother, Victor Dreyer of Plano; 9 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Claude P. Arnold; parents; sister, Helen Woytasczyk; and brother, Leonard Dreyer.

Charles Meredith Albert Sr., 73, of Cuero, passed away June 27, 2003.
He was born October 16, 1929 in Lott to the late Harry and Mary Albert. He was a retired Master Electrician, 1 BEW LU 716 and City of Humble Electrical inspector. He was also the former Chief Deputy Constable, Pct. 4 Montgomery County. He was a member of the E. Houston Masonic Lodge No. 1299 and Master Mason, Scottish Rite, and Shriner.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret L. Albert of Cuero; son, Charles (Chuck) Albert Jr. and wife Susie of Cuero; grandson, Charlie Albert and future granddaughter-in-law, Andrea Loreny, both of Cuero; brothers, James Albert and wife Leslie of Brenham, Gerald Albert and wife Beverly of Montgomery, Leonard Albert and wife B. J. of Marquez; brother-in-law, Melvin Kennedy and wife Darlene of New Camey; numerous other family members; and one daughter and three grandchildren.

Ben Hengst, 92, of Yorktown, died Monday, June 23, 2003.
He was born November 10, 1910, in DeWitt County, to the late Alvin and Mary Wild Hengst. He was owner and blacksmith of St. Louis Blacksmith Shop. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and of the Yorktown Hermann Sons Lodge.
Survivors: step-sons, Otto Danysh and Roland Danysh, both of Victoria, Walter Danysh and Gary Danysh, both of Port Lavaca, and Henry Danysh of Edna; sister, Elnora Podsim of Yorktown; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: first wife, Olga Jaeger Hengst; second wife, Otillia Metting Danysh Hengst; step-son, Robert Danysh; parents; sisters, Lillie Koopman, Wilma Waskow, and Erna Wulf; and brothers, Edwin Hengst, Emil Hengst, and Herman Hengst.

Jose Perez, 84, of Cuero, died Sunday, June 22, 2003.
He was born August 27, 1918, in Yorktown, to the late Obidio and Maria Jimenez Perez. He was a farmer and a Catholic.
Survivors: daughters, Alicia Silva of Winters, Paula Green of Bryan, Peggy Perez of Hearne, and Nicky Perez of Fort Worth; sons, Jesse Perez of Cuero, David Perez of Bryan, and Rudy Perez of Navasota; sister, Amelia Perez of Smiley; 35 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

David Bruce Sholars
David Bruce Sholars of Austin, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2003. He was surrounded by his family and friends throughout his battle with cancer.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Whitney Sholars; his son, Kirk Sholars; his daughters, Shelly Bellamy and husband John, Holly Sholars, and Kristy Larson and husband Scott; and three grandchildren, Kelsey, Ashlyn, and Grant Bellamy.
Bruce was born in Meyersville, and graduated from W. B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi, where he met his wife Whitney. Bruce will be remembered for his passion towards his family, friends, and NASCAR auto racing.
The family received visitors on Friday, June 27 at Beck Funeral Home, with funeral services immediately following. Graveside services were Saturday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Meyersville. Arrangements were under the direction of Beck Funeral Home, Round Rock/Austin, 512-244-3772.
