ODESSA — Charles Francis Gill, 55, of Odessa, owner of Charlie’s Pawn Shop, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002, at his residence.

He was born in Columbus, Ohio.

HOBBS, N.M. — Paul Hendricks, 64, of Hobbs, a professional bull rider, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002, in Lubbock.
Services will be at 10 a.m. MDT Friday at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Fred W. Hendricks officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at the Kermit cemetery in Kermit, Texas. Arrangements by Griffin Funeral Home of Hobbs.

Jimmie Faye Cooper
ODESSA — Jimmie Faye Cooper, 76, of Odessa passed away Sunday, June 9, 2002, at Midland Memorial Hospital and Medical Center. She was born Jan. 10, 1926, to Harley and Wilma Rawls in Gorman.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today, June 11, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Melvin Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Jimmie graduated in 1942 from high school in Gorman where she was raised. She married
Harry Cooper on Jan. 4, 1947, in Gorman, and they moved to Odessa in 1961. She attended business school in Abilene and worked for Well Tech for many years. She loved life and never met a stranger. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Odessa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry in 1976; brother, Lowell Rawls in 2000; and granddaughter, Carma Ann Cooper in 1986.
She is survived by her son, Larry Cooper and wife Carey of Round Rock; daughter, Barbara Wyrick and husband Jack of Midland; brother, Roy Rawls of Austin; sister, Patsy Locke of Fort Worth; grandson, Jay Michael Cooper; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Nancy Danhof
ODESSA — Nancy Danhof died Saturday, June 8, 2002, at her home following an extended illness.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Andrew Danhof; her son, Andrew Danhof Jr. of Houston; her son, Brian Danhof and his wife Suzanne of Jacksonville, N.C.; her daughter, Carol Cates and her husband Timothy and their three children, Bridgette, Philip and Isaac of Odessa; two sisters and a brother in Tacoma, Wash.; as well as numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Nancy was born March 21, 1943, in Hartley, Iowa. She graduated from Estherville, Iowa, High School in 1961 and the University of Iowa in 1963 with a bachelor of arts degree in education. She taught junior high school math and science in Iowa for one year and then moved to Rawlins, Wyo., in 1965. There she taught junior high school math and science and met her husband, Andrew Danhof. They married
April 30, 1966. While in Rawlins, daughter Carol and son Andrew Jr. were born. In 1973, the family moved to Tacoma, Wash., where son Brian was born in 1975. She completed courses to become a master gardener. In 1981, they again relocated to Denver, Colo. The family came to Odessa in 1983 and joined Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In 1985, the family was transferred to Hobbs, N.M. While there, Nancy obtained an associate’s degree in nursing from New Mexico Junior College and became a registered nurse. In Hobbs, Nancy worked for the Good Samaritan Nursing Home and eventually became the director of nursing; she worked there until 1989. In 1990, the family again was transferred to Midland. While in Midland, Nancy again completed courses to become a master gardener and was a volunteer instrumental in developing the xeroscape gardens at the Commemorative Air Force Museum. She was the director of nurses at Seabury Nursing Home in the early ’90s, ran an Alzheimer’s daycare program at First Methodist Church in Midland, volunteered at Casa de Amigos and was an active member of The Aggie Mom’s Club. Nancy was a very active member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church, recently serving as a session elder and chairperson of the Missions Committee. Nancy was a devoted mother and grandmother, a valued friend, a tireless volunteer and a constant witness for her Savior in both words and action.
The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. today, June 11, 2002, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at St. Andrew Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Odessa. Burial services will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Walter Jackson Jr.
ODESSA — Walter Jackson Jr. passed away Friday, June 7, 2002, at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock.
He was born July 9, 1941, in Chicago and was a resident of Odessa since 1981. He was employed by Terk Distributing Co. and was Christian. His Army career included several recognitions, including the First Class Missile Badge, the Good Conduct Medal and the Defense Service Medal.
Prayer services will be at 7 p.m. today, June 11, 2002, at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial services will be at a later date.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Jackson I and Johnnie Ola Singleton.
He is survived by his wife, Rosa Emma Jackson of Odessa; two sons, Lorenzo Jackson and Martin Jackson, both of Odessa; two daughters, Elida Jackson of California and Rosa Marie Jackson of Odessa; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Juan 'Johnny' Rodriguez
ODESSA — Juan “Johnny” Rodriguez passed away Saturday, June 8, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital.
He was born Aug. 9, 1951, in Fort Stockton. He was an inspector for the Texas Department of Transportation. He was Catholic.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today, June 11, 2002, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Jesus Mercado officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Judy Ontiveros, and his stepfather, Manuel Ontiveros.
He is survived by his wife, Judith C. Rodriguez of Odessa; father, Alberto Rodriguez of Fort Stockton; and a sister, Martha Subia of Fort Stockton.
