Lottie Bell Mobbs
ODESSA — Lottie Bell Mobbs, 86, of Odessa, passed away Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at the Hospice House.
She was born on January 21, 1916, in Longview, Texas, to Tom and Amanda Pearl Tutt into a family of 12 children. She was a longtime resident of Odessa and a homemaker.
Lottie was always known as the sweetest mother that ever was. She was a wonderful Christian woman who was deeply loved by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Eugene Mobbs in 1996; son, Bernard Eugene Mobbs in 1985; brothers, Robert, Otis, Pete and James Tutt; sisters, Katie Bryant, Betty Wyble, Georgia Clemens and Ruby Crawford; and granddaughter, Angelique Mobbs.
She is survived by her son, Larry Mobbs and wife Teresa of Odessa; daughter, Peggy Bowler and husband Richard of Fullerton, Calif.; brothers, Joe Tutt of Longview and J.W. “Buck” Tutt of Mesquite; sister, Tommie Perkins of Tyler; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at the Winterfield Methodist Church cemetery in Longview.
Family will meet with friends at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. today, Oct. 19, 2002.

Terry Lee Bailey
ODESSA —Terry Lee Bailey, 54, passed away from this earthly life and took hold of eternal life to which he was called. He passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2002, at Hospice House in Odessa after fighting a battle with cancer.
Mr. Bailey was born Dec. 11, 1947, in Quincy, Ill., to Glen C. and Dorothy Bailey. He was raised and educated in Quincy, Ill., during the Vietnam War and also in the Philippines. Mr. Bailey moved to Odessa in 1995. He married
Sandra Robinson on May 1, 1999, in Odessa. He was a very talented man who excelled in many careers, but found his true calling as a nurse. He touched many lives while working at Avalon Place and Memorial Rehabilitation. Terry has had an impact on so many people, both family and friends. Terry truly loved helping people. He was proud of his Cherokee heritage, and may his spirit soar with the eagles and run with the wolves. He was truly loved and will be greatly missed by all.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at Westover Baptist Church.
Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his parents, Glen C. and Dorothy O’Dear Bailey; and a brother, Jackie Bailey.

Louise Carter
ODESSA — Louise Carter, 72, of Odessa passed away Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at her residence. She was born July 8, 1930, in Ladonia, Texas. She moved to Odessa in 1955 from Wichita Falls. She was a retired cook for the Ector County School District and the Ector County Sheriff’s Posse. She was a member of St. James Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Harper.
She is survived by daughters, Natalie Carter of Alvarado, Shirley Everett of Aurora, Colo., and Aline Vaughn of Texarkana, Texas; brothers, Eddie Bogar of Fort Worth, Robert Bogar of Ladonia, Texas, and Teordis Bogar of Calipatria, Calif.; sisters, Jonell Shaw, Fayrine Cooper and Annie Mae Brown, all of Dallas, Hazel Shephard of Taft, Okla., and Merille Franklin of Sulphur Springs, Texas; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grand-children; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at St. James Baptist Church with the Rev. Roger T. McNeil officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill cemetery.

Jack William Hampton Jr.
ODESSA — Jack William Hampton Jr., of Odessa, died on Oct. 15, 2002.
He was born on Jan. 17, 1931, in Ballinger and graduated from McMurry College and Perkins School of Theology at SMU. He also owned PIP Printing for approximately 18 years. He was a member of St. Barnabas and St. John Episcopal Churches.
Jack is preceded in death by his sister, Sue Lee; and his parents, Jack and Helen Hampton.
He is survived by his sisters, Mary Robison of Fort Stockton, Donna Rogers of San Angelo and Margaret Kull of Odessa.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church with the Revs. David Veal and Laura Dedrick officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.

Artie Nail
ODESSA — Artie Nail, 91, of Odessa, went home to our Lord on Oct. 14, 2002. He was born Sept. 22, 1911, in Stephenville to Ike and Rose Nail. He was a member of Faith Temple Fellowship.
Employed by Brown and Root, he worked during World War II to build planes for the U.S. Government.
Artie married
Connell Dunson of Ranger, Texas, and made their home in Odessa as he continued to work for South Texas Construction, building highways throughout Texas.
In 1963, Artie accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into his life and blessed family and friends with his inspirational songs. He was very generous and tender. He loved his Martin guitar, Buicks and Dale Earnhardt, and was a dyed-in-the-wool democrat. Mr. Nail was devoted to his family and church, loved his grandchildren and will truly be missed as a husband, father and grandfather.
The family is so thankful to have been blessed with sharing his life and will have many warm memories to warm their hearts.
We claim the promise that one day we will be reunited with him in the new life and will walk on streets, “not asphalt” as Papa knew, but on streets paved with pure gold as promised by our Father.

Artie was preceded in death by two daughters, Helen Ruth and Alta Rae Jones; and six brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Connell of Odessa; their two daughters, Carol Carlile and her husband Allen and Barbara Altom, all of Odessa; brother, Sam Nail of Vernon; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 17, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Hetherington officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Denver Williams
ODESSA — Funeral services for Denver Williams, age 81, of Odessa are scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with Dennis Williams and the Rev. Amon Langston officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Williams passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. He was born Aug. 14, 1921, in Lily, Ky., to Campbell Williams and Susan Frazier Williams.
He was stationed in Seattle, Wash., in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He entered in 1943 and was discharged in 1946.
Denver was a machinist by trade and worked for Compressor Systems Incorporated, retiring in 1992. He worked for Ratheon for 13 years and for Naval Ordinance in Louisville, Ky.
Denver was preceded in death by his brother, Denton Williams; and his sisters Edith Taulbee, Stamphia Pierscionek and Elsie Zawada.
He is survived by a daughter, Wanda Roark Carpio and her husband Amos of North Dakota; a son, Dennis Williams and his wife Gina of Dayton, Ohio; his wife of 48 years, Zella Mullins of Kentucky; grandchildren, Eric Ferguson, Peter Ferguson, Richard Ferguson, Karyn Williams and James Williams; as well as two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Geraldine Cross
ODESSA — Geraldine Cross, 84, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002, at Avalon Place.
She was born Dec. 24, 1917, in Aspermont, Texas. She had worked as a nurse’s aide for Avalon Place years ago. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Merejildo Dominguez
IRAAN — Merejildo G. “M.G.” Dominguez, 87, of Iraan, a retired Marathon Oil employee, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002, in San Diego, Calif.
A memorial luncheon will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the new Iraan Civic Center. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. at Iraan Restland cemetery. Arrangements by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
He was born in Fort Stockton. He was a veteran of World War II.
