MONAHANS — Kenneth Wayne Moore, 68, of Monahans, a retired electrical engineer for Texas Electric, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002, at his residence.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stephen Swisher officiating. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Family Funeral Services/ Jackie Harkey.
He was born in Lamesa and had been a resident of Monahans since 1965.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Mary Lois Moore of Monahans; son, Michael Wayne Moore of Odessa; daughters, Cheryl Garbiso of Monahans and Kayla Murphree of Monahans; sister, Evelyn Tarter of El Paso; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Jack Ward Sr.
ODESSA — Jack L. Ward Sr., 80, of Odessa, retired owner and operator of Ward Machine & Supply Inc., died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Channell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Tahlequah, Okla., and moved to Odessa in 1948. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II.

ODESSA — C.D. Gale, 75, of Odessa, retired vice president and general manager of Plains Machinery Co., died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Midland.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Doug Herget officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Mitchell County. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Christian.

Don Glass
ODESSA — Don Glass, 59, of Odessa, passed away July 3, 2002, in Odessa. He was born Sept. 7, 1942, in Greenwood, Ark., to Earnest and Almedia Glass.
Don came to Odessa in 1951 from Arkansas. He attended Grace Baptist Church.
His father, Earnest Glass and brother Ronnie Glass preceded him in death.
He is survived by his mother, Almedia Glass of Odessa; brother, Randy Glass of Odessa; sister, Linda Autry of Odessa; sons, Michael Glass of Odessa and Don Glass of Beaumont; grandchildren, Mikayla Glass, Daniel Bishop, Amber and Chris Ybarra, Gary Don Glass, Terry Don Glass, and Jesica Dawn Glass; one great-grandchild, Levi Glass; several nieces and a nephew.
Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. today, July 6, 2002, at Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. William Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Ervin Paul Lieb
ODESSA — Ervin Paul Lieb, 101, of San Antonio passed away Thursday, July 4, 2002, in San Antonio. He was born Oct. 16, 1900, in Lueders to Henry and Mina Lieb.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bob Bratcher officiating.
E.P. lived in Houston from 1958 until 1995 and then moved to San Antonio in 1995 when he retired. He was a real estate broker. He married
Ruby Jan. 2, 1926, in Abilene. He was part of a pioneer West Texas family. They settled in Shackelford County in the 1870s. He graduated from high school in 1917.
His mother, father, wife, Ruby, two brothers, and two sisters preceded him in death.
He is survived by his son, Dwight Lieb of San Antonio; daughter-in-law, Marleen Lieb of Odessa; sister, Olga Marie Taylor of Fort Worth; four grandchildren, Robert Lieb and wife Denise of Taylor, Emily Bajus and husband John of Stamford, Conn., Cheri Maddox and husband John of Fort Worth and Richard Eric Lieb of Los Angeles, Calif.; six great-grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Mary Marlene Moore
LUBBOCK — Services for Mary Marlene Moore, 67, of Lubbock will be held at 10 a.m. today, July 6, 2002, at Trinity Church Chapel with the Rev. Paul Jantzen officiating. Burial will follow at City of Lubbock cemetery under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock.
She died June 30, 2002. She was born Dec. 31, 1934, in Shawnee, Okla. She married
Ray Messer on Aug. 14, 2000, in Lubbock. He passed away June 30, 2002. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1953. She attended the University of North Texas and graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in 1957 with a bachelor of music degree. After attending New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, she graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1959 with a master of music education degree. She was a doctoral student at Indiana State University, North Texas State University and Texas Tech University in music and education. She was the recipient of a teaching fellowship and studied in Europe. She was a schoolteacher in Odessa, Amarillo and Lubbock between 1961 and 1976. She taught private organ and piano lessons in her studio between 1961 and 1985. Following her teaching career, she was a real estate agent and broker until her death. She was a Republican Precinct Chairman in Lubbock. She was an active member of Trinity Church and a member of the Christian Coalition, T.B.N. and Binny Hinn Ministries. Mrs. Moore was given national recognition from the Music Teachers National Association as a nationally certified teacher of piano, organ and theory. She was a member of the Texas Music Teachers Association and Lubbock Board of Realtors.
Her daughter Michelle Mullen of Glen Cove, N.Y.; her son, Michael Mullen of New York City; 3 stepdaughters, Sheila Swanson of Lubbock, Rhonda Porter of Little Rock, Ark., and Teresa Bell of Houston; and stepson Randy Moore of Abilene survive her.

Harry A. Palmer
ODESSA — Harry A. Palmer, beloved brother, husband and father went to be with our Lord Thursday, July 4, 2002, at Baylor All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth.
He was born April 12, 1932, to Harry and Alma Allen Palmer at his grandmother’s house. He graduated from Goldthwaite High School in 1948. Harry attended Texas Tech University where he met Trula Jean Adams. They were married
Dec. 23, 1951. He joined the Air Force Jan. 8 and was inducted Jan. 15, 1951. He was sent to Cal-Aero Technical Institute where he was taught aviation mechanics and graduated at the top of his class. He was sent to San Marcos Air Force Base with a friend of his from Goldthwaite and they were both together until their enlistment was up in January 1955. Harry was chief of liaison flight line at the time his enlistment. He came back to Texas Tech to finish his petroleum engineering degree. He took a part-time job and found he loved airplanes. He worked for Champs Aviation from 1956 until 1965 when he moved from Lubbock to Midland. He started a maintenance shop there. He won State and Regional General Aviation Award in 1965 and State, Regional and National General Aviation Award in 1966, and it was presented to him by Mr. Halaby in Washington, D.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry W. and Alma Allen Palmer.
He is survived by his wife, Trula A. Palmer of Odessa; sons, Harry E. Palmer and wife Cheryl of Houston, David A. Palmer and wife Karen of Odessa and Morris W. Palmer and wife Kim of Orlando, Fla.; daughter, Laura Anders and husband Ron of Childress; sister, Mary Conn of Fort Worth; and six grandchildren, Michael Paul Anders and Cody Allen Anders, both of Childress, Brittany Nicole, Jacqueline Carol, Katherine Elizabeth and Katelyn Renee Palmer, all of Orlando, Fla.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today, July 6, 2002, at Asbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dave Dinneen officiating. Interment will be at 7 p.m. today at the Goldthwaite cemetery in Goldthwaite.

Helen Pruitt
ODESSA — Helen Ruth Pruitt, 63, of Odessa, a housewife, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, at her residence.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Martinez Funeral Home with the Rev. William Tatum officiating.
Burial will be at the Ector County cemetery.
She was born in Reagan, Texas.

Charles (Charlie) Leo Rehmert
ODESSA — Charles Rehmert, affectionately known as Charlie, lost the battle of cancer after 10 months, and passed away Sept. 10, 2002. He had requested that he be at home, surrounded by his family and his beloved cats, Little Girl and Boo Boo.
Charlie was born in St. Louis, Mo., April 14, 1942, and attended schools there and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. While in the Air Force, he was a radar man and served in the Vietnam conflict. In 1972 he moved to the Permian Basin and started working in the oilfield both locally and over-seas. Leaving production in the oilfield, he called upon the radar experience and became a computer tech in the petroleum industry. He recently completed his 20th year with Exxon and leaves many fine friends all over the United States.
Trains, the cats, travel, the computer and golf were Charlie’s pastimes, and he would brag about watching the sunsets while on the links with good friends. Though he did not get to enjoy his dream of setting up a rail yard in the hobby area of his home, he has many collectible trains his family has given him and that he procured.
He was preceded in death by his beloved father Charles; his good friend and father-in-law, James Mayfield; and his mother. Surviving is his wife of almost 25 years, Patricia Rehmert of Odessa; sons, Royce Payne and David Payne of Odessa; and daughter, Tina Broughton of Amarillo and their families; his two daughters, Helen Martin of Arnold, Mo., and Sharon Wofe of St. Louis, Mo.; stepmother, Allyne Rehmert of Oklahoma City, Okla.; as well as 10 grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors at the Sunset Memorial Gardens Funeral Home today, between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m. The service will be held Friday, September 13, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Neeper, Terry Lambdin, Larry Roan, Doug Gressett, David Fix, Harry Turner, Ron Stewart and Rusty Freeman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Home Hospice of Odessa or the American Cancer Society.
Bertha Iola Monday Brasfield
LLANO — Bertha Iola Monday Brasfield, 105, of Llano passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2002, in Llano.
She was born Nov. 19, 1896, in Beaumont to Martha Bartle Monday and William Monday. She married
Elmer E. Brasfield. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Mary Kirklin and husband Dan of Georgetown, Mike Holt and wife Cheryl of La Grange, Syb Henson and husband Lou of Sunrise Beach and Otis Brasfield Jr. and wife Judy of Odessa; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Private interment was held held in Beaumont.

Mildred ‘Pete’ Freitag Dudley
MERTZON — Mildred “Pete” Freitag Dudley, 81, of Mertzon, Texas, died Sunday, April 21, 2002, at her residence.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 24th, at First United Methodist Church in Mertzon with Rev. Phillip Steinbach and Rev. Grosse Mohler officiating.
Burial will follow in Mertzon cemetery. Arrangements are by Johnson’s Funeral Home in San Angelo.
Mildred was born November 4, 1920, in San Angelo, Texas, to Bill and Nannie Lee Freitag and was a resident of Mertzon for 66 years.

to Preston Dudley on April 3, 1940, in San Angelo, Tx.
Survivors include husband, Preston of Mertzon; two daughters, Vicki McKissack and husband Howard of Fort Stockton, and Linda Stemm of Mertzon; six grandchildren, Vickie Simpson and husband Michael of Mertzon, Ronnie Stemm of Mertzon, Debbie Low of Lake Charles, La., Dudley McKissack of Fort Stockton, Mickey and wife Tracie McKissack of Artesia, New Mexico, and Kaci and husband Ken Plunk of Huntsville; seven great-grandchildren, Chris Frazier of Lubbock, Shannon Frazier of Mertzon, Maegan and Mitchell McKissack of Abilene, Sydney Low of Lake Charles, La., Matthew McKissack of Artesia, New Mexico, and Robert Childress of Huntsville, Tx.; two brothers, Jimmy Freitag of Missouri and Bill Freitag, Jr. and wife Mabel of Eldorado, and one sister, Babe Griffin of Odessa; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins of both sides of the family and she loved the Dudley nephews and nieces as she did her own. She is also survived by s special nephew, Dr. Loren Scott of Baton Rouge, La. and numerous friends.

Pat Proctor James
TYLER — Pat Proctor James, beloved wife of Bill James, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 20, 2002, at Abilene Regional Medical Center in Abilene.
She was a loving wife and mother and dedicated her life to her family. She will be greatly missed by family and friends alike.
She was born Mattie Clyde Sandlin to parents Edgar and Elizabeth Sandlin on May 16, 1927, in Mosely and was preceded in death by her husband, James Proctor Sr., her parents and three of her siblings.
She is survived by loving husband, Bill James of Colorado City; daughters, Jan Jones and husband Larry of Brownsboro, Debbie Cox and husband Logan of Odessa and Pam Davidson and husband Don of Tyler; son, James Proctor and wife Amy of Tyler; brother, Ross Sandlin of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Lori Taylor and Justin Jones of Tyler, Steven and Kristi Davidson of Tyler and Jessica and Jordan Proctor of Tyler; and great-grandchildren, Bethany Carrell of Odessa and Taylor Farmer and Mackenzie Taylor of Tyler.
Pallbearers will be Justin Jones, Jeremy Cox, Steven Davidson, Dick Sandlin, Jack Sandlin and Rick Sandlin. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Jones, Dr. Logan Cox and Don Davidson.

Larry Pon
ODESSA — Larry Pon Sr., 48, of Odessa passed away Sunday, April 21, 2002, at his residence.
He was born May 21, 1953, to Bill and Margaret Pon in Fort Worth, Texas.
He moved to Odessa in 1989 from Decatur. He was an employee of Key Energy Services for the past 2 years. He enjoyed hunting, working on the computer and trucks. He loved his family very much and will be greatly missed. Both parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by a son, Larry Pon Jr. and wife Emilia of Fieldton; three daughters, Misty Garza and husband Herman of Odessa, Krystle Pon of Odessa and Michelle Alvarez of Dallas; two brothers Floyd Houtz and wife Brenda and Bill H. Pon Jr. and wife Cathy; two sisters, Kitty Taylor and husband Jimmy of Perrin and Verna Jones and husband Keith of Decatur; nine grandchildren; his ex-wife, Elizabeth F. Pon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Cecil Maxey officiating. Burial will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2002, at Oaklawn cemetery in Decatur.
