Bobba L. Eidson-Jackson
ODESSA — Bobba L. Eidson-Jackson went peacefully to be with her Lord on Aug. 13, 2002, at Hospice House with her loving family at her side.
Services are scheduled for 11a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with Mr. Charlie Jones, elder of Greenwood Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Bobba Lea Jackson was the eldest born to J.M. “Mitch” and Opal Mae Eidson on Aug. 27, 1930, in Ray City, a small community near Maude, Okla. Her family moved to Hobbs, N.M., in 1935, where she grew up and went all of her school years.
Bobba married Wayne Jackson on June 4, 1949, in Hobbs. Of their marriage, they had four sons; Michael Wayne, Mitchell Lane, Monte Joe and Matthew Lee.
The family moved to Odessa in September 1965. She worked for the Ector County tax assessor-collector for several years and later worked for Dr. J.D. Cone for a number of years.
She made many close and cherished friends during her work years and had so many great memories of her co-workers.
Bobba dedicated her life to Wayne, her sons, their wives and her grandchildren. She always placed everyone before herself during any time of need. Holidays, birthdays and grandkids’ events were so special to her. Her cooking and baking were loved by her family, especially her chicken and dumplings during the holiday season.
Bobba fought and won health battles over the years and was strong to the end of her life. Her dedication and care for her family never ended and she will be missed so much and never forgotten.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Wayne, Joseph Michell, Keaton Monte, Matthew Lee, Chris Jones and Dustin Jones.
Bobba Jackson is survived by her husband, Wayne of their home; and four sons, Michael Wayne and wife Barbara Joy, Mitchell Lane and wife Valerie Ann, Monte Joe and Matthew Lee and wife Sarah Jeanette.
Bobba is also survived by ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild; Joshua Wayne, Keisha Rachel, Raynie Brooke, Jordan Amber, Lacie Layne, Jenna Ashley, Joseph Mitchell, Keaton Monte, Matthew Lee, Zachary Hunter and Colton Wayne.
Bobba has one sister, Norma Kenyon and husband Aubrey of Midland; and one brother Ronald Eidson and wife Shirley of Alto, N.M. She has many loving nephews and nieces who were very special to her life.
Her family request memorials to Home Hospice, Hospice House and Medina Children’s Home.
Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Jesus Nevarez Ramirez
ODESSA — Jesus Nevarez Ramirez passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital.
Mr. Ramirez was born in Feb. 25, 1914, in Presidio to Amado and Juana Ramirez. He married Elisa Navarete. He was a catholic and farm laborer.
He is survived by his wife, Elisa Ramirez of Presidio, sons, Jose Angel Ramirez of Hobbs, N.M., Auden Ramirez and Jesus Javier Ramirez, both of Odessa; daughters, Olivia Leyva, Rosalinda Galindo and Maria Estela Ramirez, all of Presidio, Evangelina Baeza and Fabiola Lujan, both of Odessa; brothers, Raynaldo Ramirez and Florentino Ramirez, both of Odessa, Erineo Ramirez and Manuel Ramirez, both of Ojinaga, Mexico, and Cirilo Ramirez of Carlsbad, N.M., sisters, Tomasa Lujan and Adela Lujan, both of Ojinaga, and Marianna Carrasco of Odessa; 24 grandchildren and 26 great-great children.
Pallbearers are: Ricardo Galindo Jr., Aron Galindo, Auden Ramirez Jr., Edgar Ramirez, Jose Baeza Jr., Jana Ramirez, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Jaime Leyva Jr. Mr. Ramirez will be in state at Frank Wilson Funeral Home, 4635 Oakwood Drive.
Rosary will be recited at 7p.m. today at Frank Wilson Funeral Home.
Mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill cemetery.
Services by Odessa Funeral Home.

Minnie Ethel Cannon Curb
ODESSA -- Minnie Ethel Cannon Curb passed from this life on Aug. 14, 2002.
Her 93 years had been spent in the service of her family and friends. She was a member of the 6th and Jackson church of Christ.
Married to Lois Chapman Curb for 67 years, he preceded her in death in 1996.
She is survived by one daughter, Minnie Lois Neal; a sister, Una Walker; her two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today, Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with Roy Smalling and Lynn Money officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Curb’s last years were spent living at the Lois Owen’s Assisted Living Home. The family would like to express their appreciation for the care given to “our MamMa.”
How can we ever tell you how much we thank you, Delores, Deidra, Debbie and Kathy for the attention, special care, concern and love during her years at the home? Thank you, Ted and Lois Owen, for providing this wonderful care for the people of Odessa for all these years.

Marcella E. Brown
ODESSA — Funeral services for Marcella E. Brown, age 87, formerly of Odessa, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Frankhauser officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Brown passed away Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, at Old Methodist Hospital in Lubbock. She was born Dec. 28, 1914, in Dunewig, Mo. She married H.T. Brown Jr. on Dec. 15, 1936, in Diamond, Mo. They lived in Missouri and New Mexico, before moving to Texas in 1942. Mr. Brown preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 1992.
Mrs. Brown was a homemaker until her children were grown, when she returned to college and received her degree from Central State Teachers College in Edmond, Okla. in 1967 and taught second grade for the Kirtland School District near Farmington, N.M., for 11 years.
Mrs. Brown and her husband retired to their home in Odessa in 1978 where she resided for the next 27 years. During retirement Mrs. Brown traveled extensively and was a volunteer at the Odessa Medical Center for 15 years.
Survivors include a son, Mike Brown of Odessa; two daughters, Barbara Hill of Lubbock and Sara Hicks of Devine; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be sent to a favorite Hospice organization.

Neil D. Fitzpatrick
WHON— Neil D. Fitzpatrick, 48, of Odessa, passed away at his residence on Aug. 15, 2002. He was born Nov. 10, 1953, in Brownwood to Graham and Imogene Fitzpatrick.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at the First Baptist Church in Santa Anna. Interment will be in Whon, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his mother Imogene Snowden Fitzpatrick and sister Cheryl Bullion.
Mr. Fitzpatrick was employed for 20 years at West Texas Cat. He was a mason.
He was a loving husband, father and son to his wife, Kathy Fitzpatrick of Odessa; son, Spencer Fitzpatrick of Coleman; daughters, Josilyn Fitzpatrick of San Angelo, Ashley Fitzpatrick of Brenham, Whitney Fitzpatrick of Coleman; stepson, Quentin Wimberly of Odessa; stepdaughter, Veronica Wimberley of Odessa; father, Graham Fitzpatrick of Whon, Texas; and a brother, Don Fitzpatrick of Whon.
Funeral services entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Kenneth Kyle Kelly
GOLDEN, Colo. — Kenneth Kyle Kelly died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at his home in Golden, Colo.
Kenneth was born Nov. 29, 1921, in Odessa. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1939, and from West Texas State University in 1950. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during World War II.
Kenneth married Dorothy White on July 4, 1947, in Clifton, Texas.
Kenneth was a member of the ECISD faculty serving as principal in the Milam and Goldsmith elementaries. Kenneth and his family moved to Golden, Colo., In 1959 where he was a principal in the Golden school district.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Golden; one son, Kent of Golden; one daughter, Lucy Martin of Grand Island, Neb.; two brothers, Jay Kelly of Odessa and Dr. Emmett “Pat” Kelly of Pflugerville; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial are Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, in Golden, Colo.

J Von R. Gourley
ODESSA — J Von R. Gourley, 80, of Odessa went to be with our Lord on Aug. 22, 2002, at Hospice House in Odessa.
Services are scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Belmont Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Wright and G.A. Magee officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Midland.
Family visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m.
J Von was born Oct. 6, 1921, in Prague, Okla. to Jess and Odessa Gourley. He married LaWanda Mercer on Oct. 31, 1945, in Ada, Okla. He served four years in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He and LaWanda moved to Odessa in 1948, at which time he began his career with Phillips Petroleum Co.
He was a long time member of Belmont Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School and had a ministry to the hospital, nursing home and homebound
Survivors include his favorite wife, LaWanda of Odessa; his two daughters, Sheri Hoskinson and husband Jerry of Odessa and Carla Presley and husband, Daryl of San Angelo, and daughter-in-law, Lisa Welch and husband Don of Burleson; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren; his sister, Hetty Alice Frink of Lake Oswego, Ore.
J Von’s parents, his son, Royce, three brothers, two sisters and seven half-brothers and sisters preceded him in death
Our beloved husband, father, PaPa, brother and friend will surely be missed.
Funeral services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Bertha Bell ‘Tince’ Little
LAMESA — Bertha Bell “Tince” Little went to be with her Lord on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002. Bell was born Aug. 10, 1922, to Richard Colbert Kilgore and Bertha Mae Higginbotham (Kilgore) in Lamesa.
She attended school in Mount Olive and Lamesa. Bell married Dan Little on Jan. 25, 1948 in Abilene, Texas. They moved to Odessa in 1950.
Bertha is survived by her husband Dan; daughter, Mary McCrury and husband Darnell; grandchildren, Michael McCrury and wife Margie and Shauna McConnel and husband Ed. The joy of her later years was her great-grandson, Zachary McCrury.
Bell was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy; two brothers, Boyd and Brooks Kilgore; a sister, Edna Haney and her parents.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at the Harvester’s Class at Temple Baptist Church. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Lamesa cemetery.

Stephanie L. Munden
MIDLAND — Stephanie L. Munden passed away Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, after a 2 1/2 year battle with cancer.
Stephanie was born Aug. 24, 1951, in Guymon, Okla., and had been a resident of Midland since 1977.
She was preceded in death by her father, Homer Nichols; and her father-in-law, Howard Munden.
Stephanie is survived by her husband, Steve Munden; her son, Jeff Munden and his wife Leisha and granddaughter, Brynn Danielle Munden, all of Midland; her mother, LaMoyne Nichols of Odessa; mother-in-law, Rose Munden of Midland.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Midland Memorial Hospital and the Allison Cancer Center for the wonderful care that was given to Stephanie.
Graveside services have been scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, August 19, 2002, at Resthaven Memorial Park with Reverend Lane Boyd officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.

Darlyene ‘Polly’ Roberson
ODESSA — Darlyene “Polly” Roberson, age 79, of Odessa, went to be with her Lord on Aug. 17, 2002, at Hospice House in Odessa.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Darlyene was born May 19, 1923, in Paris, Tenn., to Edmond B. and Emma McCuiston. She grew up in Eastland, Texas. She married William K. Roberson on Sept. 5, 1941, in Paris, Tenn. After William returned from the service, they moved to Odessa in 1947.
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church and taught Sunday School there for many years. She worked as an L.V.N. at Medical Center Hospital before retiring. Later, she worked several years for Dr. Glen Williams. She enjoyed sewing and doll making. She loved being with her family especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, William of Odessa; daughters, Judy Heslep of Odessa and Claudia Roberson of Odessa; a son, Bill Roberson and his wife Liz of Odessa grandchildren, Angie Crow and husband Steve of Pagosa Springs, Colo., Katherine Nelson and husband Shawn of Canyon Lake and Chris Roberson and wife Summer of Round Rock; four great-grandchildren, Kelly, Casey and Kevin Crow and Will Nelson; brothers, E.B. McCuiston and wife Jeri of Farmington, N.M., Jim McCuiston and wife Barbara of Granbury; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents and a sister, Rita Willoughby, preceded her in death.
Services are under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
