Susie V. Bullard
ODESSA — Susie V. Bullard, 86, of Midland, was taken to her Heavenly home by Jesus on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, at the Hospice House in Odessa.
She was born Aug. 5, 1916, in Milam County, Texas, to Edd and Annie Bullard.
Mrs. Bullard moved to Odessa in 1972 from Houston where she worked for Rainbow Bakery for many years. She was a resident at Trinity Haven Health Care Center in Midland for the last five and a half years.
She is survived by sisters, Bertha Coldiron of Odessa and Bessie Jolly of Midland; niece, Carolyn Vannoy of Midland; nephews, Bill Evans and Roy Lee Evans, both of Phoenix, Ariz., Eddie Evans of Great Bend, Kan. and Nolan Cass of Dickinson; and numerous great- nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate her home going will be at 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family suggests memorials may be made to Hospice House in Odessa.
We wish to express our deepest gratitude to Hospice House and Dr. Dipak Patel for their compassionate and loving care of Aunt Susie.

Elias J. Tavarez
ODESSA — Elias J. Tavarez, 73, passed away Nov. 16, 2002. He was born on July 20, 1929, to Esteban Tavarez and Petra Jimenez in Valentine, Texas.
He worked as a pipe fitter for Rexene Chemical Plant for over 35 years and is a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
His parents, Esteban Tavarez and Petra J. Tavarez; and wife, Isavel M. Tavarez precede him in death.
He is survived by his daughter, Elida Willard and husband George of Odessa; son, Elias M. Tavarez of Odessa; another son, Steve Tavarez and wife Oralia of Odessa; daughters, Elodia Gonzales, Leticia Tavarez, both of Odessa; brothers, Octavio Tavarez and wife Manuela of Odessa; Francisco Tavarez and wife Maria, of Odessa; sisters, Dora Aranda and husband Antonio Sr. of Odessa, Margarita Tavarez of Mexico and Eduvina Ramos and husband Arturo of Odessa; grandchildren, Ruben Tavarez, Melissa Davila, Kathi Tavarez, Michael Gonzales, Zack Lujan, Tommy Gonzales, LaToya and Mariah Willard, Michelle, Marissa and Zoe Marie Tavarez; great-grandchildren, Amber Sanchez, Daniel Ray Tavarez, Joseph and JoAnthony Davila; numerous nieces and nephews; and close personal friends and caregiver, Gregoria O. Ulate and family.
A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, and Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at 1105 W. Ada, in Odessa. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Services are pending. Arrangements are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.

Howard Clyde Hagen Sr.
ODESSA — Howard Clyde Hagen Sr., 83, of Odessa, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at his residence.
He was born July 9, 1919, in Collinsville, Okla.
Mr. Hagen served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, receiving an honorable discharge in 1943. In 1967, he was a subcontractor in South Vietnam where he trained Vietnamese mechanics to work on aircraft and helicopters. He married Carol in Benhoa, North Vietnam on April 15, 1967, later moving their family to Odessa in 1975. He retired after three and a half years from OIME, where he was employed. He was also a member of the American Legion & Temple Baptist Church.
His parents, John S. and Carrie Hagen; three sisters, Verna Suderman, Ella Hefley and Clara Schellenberg; and two brothers, Winfred Hagen and Edwin Hagen, all preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 35 years, Carol Hagen of Odessa; children, Howard Clyde Hagen Jr. and wife Debbie of Broken Arrow, Okla., Larry Hagen and wife Daniece of Odessa, Nguyen Hung Van and wife Le Yen Thi of Odessa, Garry Hagen and wife Lisa of Grand Prairie, Texas, Carla Bolt and husband Paul of Honolulu, Hawaii; daughter-in-law, Reyna Hagen of Grapevine, Texas; brothers, Lewis Hagen of Kansas and Arlie Hagen of Colorado; grandchildren, Kim Rodriguez, Charla Sanford, Chuck Hagen, Brian Hagen, Travis Hagen, Jeff Hagen, Kristin Hagen, Nguyen Phul Hung, Nguyen Cuong Van, Nguyen Thinh Cuong, Nguyen Quang Duc, Garry Hagen Jr., Sophia Hagen, Tealia Kapsh and Levi Kapsh; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Howard was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed and always remembered in our hearts.
Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Connor Page
ODESSA — Connor James Page, 20 months, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, in Omaha, Neb.
He was born March 9, 2001, to Casey and Tyra Younger Page in Odessa.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, at Sunset Heights Baptist Church with the Revs. Jess Little and Bobby Trayal officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his parents, Casey and Tyra Page of Odessa; grandparents, Kay and Phil Page of Odessa and Cynthia Younger of Silverton, Texas; great-grandparents, Wayne Osborn of Odessa, Martha and Bill Rackley of Lubbock and Eva Lou Younger of Silverton.
Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Betty L. White
ODESSA — Betty L. White, age 77, of Odessa, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at Hospice House. She was born March 10, 1925, to Jonas and Emma Jones.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at First United Pentecostal Church with the Revs. J.T. Pugh and Terry Pugh officiating. Interment will be at Rosehill cemetery.
Betty was the youngest of 10 children. She married Lester Shaw in 1938, they had three children. He preceded her in death. She later married Ray White in 1961; he also preceded her in death. She moved to Odessa in 1967 and was a practical nurse most of her life. She spent her remaining years in Odessa enjoying her family and friends. She was a member of first United Pentecostal Church. She loved family, God, Church family and many friends. She loved helping people and working in her flower gardens.
She was preceded in death by sons, Tommy and Alford Shaw; grandson, Wesley Shaw; one great-grandson; brothers, Lee, Paul, David and Daniel Jones; sisters, Alice Pack, Mary Saulters and Lorena Moss.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Charles Hunt; grandchildren, Terry Hunt, Harlley and LaDon Hunt, Tonya Hunt, Alford and Cindi Shaw and Cindy Shaw; great-grandchildren, Troy and Connie Hunt, Terrell and Marquita Hunt, Teddy and Kati Hunt, Meleah and Mark Pocock, Brandi Midaugh, Dillon Shaw and Ronnie Shaw; great-great-grandchildren, Troy Hunt, Mavery Pocock, Zachery Hunt, Billy Joe Anderson; sisters, Lottie Diamond of Malakoff, Ernistine King of Athens; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice House.
Services have been entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Ruby Burrow
MIDLAND — Ruby Jane Cannon Burrow, 83, of Midland, a former nurse’s aide, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at Midland Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. “Jr.” Erwin officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.
She was born in Red River Parrish, La. She was a member of Living Way — Four Square Church.
SURVIVORS: Son, Kenneth Burrow of Midland; daughters, Sue Sowers of Pennsylvania, Claujean “Super” Hankins of Odessa and Josie Cooper of Midland; brother, Pete Cannon of Roswell, N.M.; 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Woodrow Freeman
ODESSA — Woodrow Freeman, 90, of Odessa, a retired rig mechanic, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at Home Hospice House.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Faith Community Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Shelton officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home.
He was born in Grossbeck. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Lota Freeman of Odessa; sons, Derwood Freeman and Michael Freeman, both of Odessa; daughter, Beverly Blackburn of Odessa; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

W.O. Hunt Jr.
KERMIT — W.O. Hunt Jr., 75, of Kermit, a retired self-employed welder, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at his residence.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Kermit cemetery with the Rev. Tom Reynolds and Russ Smith Sr. officiating. Arrangements by Family Services Funeral Parlor.
He was born in Abilene. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Niece, Nancy Boddy of Albuquerque, N.M.

Jerry Null
ODESSA — Jerry B. Null, 68, of Odessa, the former owner of the Book Nook, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at her residence.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home.
She was born in Wallace, Ark., and moved to Odessa in the late 1940s.
SURVIVORS: Sister, Norma Jean Reese of Nash; sons, James Null of Odessa and David Alan of Houston; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Maria Tavarez
ODESSA — Maria Tavarez, 60, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at her residence.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Cathedral De Alabanza church with the Rev. Pedro Emiliano officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home.
She was born in El Vado de Piedra, Mexico, and moved to Odessa in 1980. She was Christian.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Francisco Tavarez of Odessa; sons, Francisco Javier Tavarez, Gerardo Tavarez and Jorge Tavarez, all of Odessa; daughters, Rosa Ramon of Lubbock, Maria Isabel Acosta and Beatrice Tavarez, both of Odessa, and Ayde Tavarez of Mississippi; brothers, Manuel Flores of Los Angeles, Calif.; Refugio Flores of Presidio; sisters, Antonia Ronquillo of Ojinaga, Mexico; Reyes Vega of El Paso; Maria Luz Hinojos, Dulces Adame and Alicia Quinonez, all of Odessa; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Dora Terrazas
FORT STOCKTON — Dora G. Terrazas, 70, of Fort Stockton, a retired teacher’s aide, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, in Fort Stockton.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Church with the Rev. David Herrera officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at Fort Stockton Catholic cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
She was born in Fort Stockton was was a lifelong resident. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Fidel Q. Terrazas Jr. of Fort Stockton; son, Jesse Terrazas of Fort Stockton; daughter, Mary Ann White Terrazas of Fort Stockton; brothers, Frankie Granado and Jose Granado Sr., both of Fort Stockton, and Nino Granado of Haskel; sisters, Maria G. Vella of Galveston and Ildafonsa G. “Ilda” Gay of Cisco; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Lottie Everhart
ODESSA — Lottie Everhart, 82, of Odessa, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

William Derrick
HOUSTON - William Derrick, 76, of Houston, a construction worker, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Mt. Olive Baptist Worship Center with the Rev. Willie Coleman officiating. Burial will be at Houston Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Eternal Rest Funeral Home.
He was born in Huntsville, Ala. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Doris Vene of Ohio, and Brenda Derrick of Chattanooga, Tenn.; brothers, James Derrick and Earnest Derrick, both of Odessa, and Lee Derrick of Chattanooga, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Flora Hembree
COLORADO CITY - Flora Elizabeth Hembree, 39, of Colorado City died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, in Westbrook.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Manning officiating. Burial will be at Mitchell County cemetery. Arrangements by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
She was bon in Lamesa. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Michael Hembree of Colorado City; son, Michael J. Hembree of Colorado City; daughter, Mary Elizabeth of Colorado City; parents, Roy and Sandra Harris of Lebanon, Mo.; and several stepbrothers and stepsisters.
