STANTON — Della Rush, 90, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at Sherwood Place in Odessa.

ODESSA — James Walter Rodgers 69,of Odessa, an employee of Rodgers Tire, died Saturday Feb. 1, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

ALPINE — Hester Louise Rose, 77, of Alpine, a food server, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, in a Fort Stockton nursing center.

She was born in Broadhead, Ken., and had lived in Alpine since 1987. She was Catholic.

Tommye Albertson
ODESSA — Tommye Albertson, 74, passed away Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, after a short illness.
Services for her will be held at the United Methodist Church in Capitan, N.M., at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003.
Tommye was the mother of three daughters, Dona Martin, Karon Allen and Debbie Harris, all of Odessa. She had four grandchildren, Niska Blevins of Kansas City, Kan., James Martin Jr. of Odessa, and Katie and Kandi Harris, also of Odessa, a brother, Billy Anderson of Ruidoso, N.M., and a sister of Phoenix, Ariz.
Tommye was married
to Walter Lee Albertson. He preceded her in death in 1989.
Sonjia Lewis Ayres
HAWKINS — Sonjia Lewis Ayres, 52, of Hawkins, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2002, in Leon County.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Beaty Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Majors officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Pisgah cemetery in Wood County.
She was born Nov. 20, 1950, in Big Sandy, to John Morris Lewis and Ava Lee Stevens Lewis.
Mrs. Ayres was a goat rancher and a member of the Boer Go Association. She was a graduate of the Aurthor Murry Dance Studio in New Orleans and was a current education major at the University of Texas at Tyler.
Mrs. Ayres was preceded in death by her parents, John Morris Lewis and Ava Lee Stevens Lewis; a daughter, Cholla Dee Ayres; two brothers; and one sister.
She is survived by a son, Macon E. Ayres of Belle Chasse, La.; a daughter, Sandra Thomas and husband Brian of Plano; two brothers, Billy M. Lewis of Millerton, N.Y., and Bobby R. Lewis of Gardendale; two sisters, Ava M. Stallings of Hawkins and Frances G. Sweatt of Red Oak; six grandchildren; and many honorary grandchildren.

Debra Jo ‘Debbie’ Hall
LUBBOCK — Debra Jo “Debbie” Hall, 49, of Odessa, passed away Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 3, 1953, in Lubbock. Debbie graduated from Coronado High School in Lubbock in 1972. She married
Joe Lynn Hall Aug. 15, 1988, in Lubbock. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charley Sport; and son, Paul Henry.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Hall of Odessa; daughter, Amy Bennett of Arlington; stepson, Joe Hall of Houston; mother, Virginia Sport of McKinney; sister, Alberta Winters of McKinney; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock with the Rev. Richard Craven officiating.

Ocie L. Holcomb
ODESSA — Ocie L. Holcomb passed away Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at Hospice House in Odessa after a long battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.
Ocie was born in Whitewright, Texas, on Nov. 24, 1916. He moved to Odessa in 1937, and married
Ruth Shoopman on March 23, 1940. He went to work for Phillips Petroleum Company in 1941. He went into the service during World War II and served three years in the Philippines and New Guinea in the 389th Anti-Aircraft Division. Ocie returned to work for Phillips after the war and retired in 1980, after 40 years.
Ocie was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid fisherman, and he and Ruth enjoyed many years at their place on Lake Buchanan.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Ruth; one son, Ronnie Holcomb and wife Patsy of Fort Worth; one daughter, Dianne Hughes of Odessa; two granddaughters, Michele Wilson and husband John of Gilbert, Ariz., and Tracie Hughes of Odessa; two great-grandsons, Matt and Sam Wilson, both of Gilbert, Ariz.; and daughter-in-law, Phyllis Holcomb of Fort Worth.
The family would especially like to express their love and appreciation to Hilda Guajardo who devotedly cared for our “Pepaw” with so much love and tenderness; also to Judy Saenz, Gracie Leal, Home Hospice and Hospice House.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Robert Oran Younger Sr.
ODESSA — Robert Oran Younger Sr., 70, passed away Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
He was born Feb. 19, 1932, to Oran Clayton and Jewel Younger in Abbott, Hill County, Texas.
Robert married
Mattie Alice Jones on Dec. 2, 1951, in Fort Warden, Wash., later moving to Odessa in 1953. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as an Engineer in the Army Corp of Engineers. He was president of the Kiwanis for two years, a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Andy G. Vaughan Chapter and the Scottish Rite. He enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren and camping in the summertime. He was owner of Alice Electric and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
There will be a family visitation from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Christopher Vore officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
His parents, and one brother, Don Younger, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Mattie Younger of Odessa; two sons, Robert Oran Younger Jr. and wife Nancy of Bedford and Spencer Lee Younger and wife Nancy of Chapel Hill; two daughters, Shelia Lynn Maddox and husband Dub of Odessa and Melissa Alice Morris and husband Gary of Carrollton; one brother, George Younger of Colorado City; four sisters, Mary Ann Lieck of Odessa, Shirley Graham of Windthorist, Judy Bray of San Antonio and Sarah Beth Gainley of Donna; 20 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
