ABILENE - Marshall R. Archer, 52, a truck driver with Werner Enterprises, died Monday, Dec. 8, 1997, at Midland Memorial Hospital and Medical Center.
Services were held Friday at North's Memorial Chapel in Abilene with the Rev. Danny Thompson officiating. Burial was at Clyde cemetery in Clyde. Arrangements were by North's Funeral Homes.
He was raised in Anson and Abilene and had been a resident of Odessa since 1988. He was a Navy veteran.

LUBBOCK - John Howard Avera, 37, a student of the Lubbock State School, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 1997, in Lubbock.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today in A.W. Wilson Chapel at Jamison's Funeral Home in Lubbock with the Rev. Kenneth Cartwright officiating. Burial will be at the City of Lubbock cemetery. Arrangements by Jamison's Funeral Home.
He was born in Nashville, Tenn., and was a resident of Lubbock.

COLORADO CITY - Donald Benson, 66, a retired TU Electric manager, died Friday, Dec. 12, 1997, in Midland.
Services were held Sunday at the Kiker-Seale Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ted Spear officiating. Burial was at the Colorado City cemetery. Arrangements were by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
He was a lifetime resident of Colorado City. He was a Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Russell Benson of Odessa, Bob Benson of Fort Worth and Ty Benson of Kerrville; daughter, Elise Benson of Kerrville; mother, Marie Benson of Colorado City; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was born in Trenton, N.J., and was a resident of Odessa. He was a Lutheran and an Army veteran.

ODESSA - Wanda Tylka, 56, owner of Abode Interior Designs and Just Us Hair Salon, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 1997, in Odessa after a lengthy illness.

She was a lifelong resident of Ector County.
