Richard Lee Driver II
LONGVIEW — Memorial services for Richard Lee Driver II, 43, of Longview, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at Oakland Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. David Bourne officiating. Services are under the direction of Welch Funeral and Memorial Center, 4619 Judson Road. Mr. Driver died Friday, March 7, 2003, at Good Shepherd Hospital.
Richard was born in Odessa, Texas, on Sept. 21, 1959, to Richard L. and Jeanne Driver. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Tech University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and went to work at Texas Eastman in 1982. He has served as assistant department superintendent of Polethylene No. 1, manager of Pilot Plant Operations and was currently superintendent of Specialties Polymers Department. He married
his high school sweetheart, Jean Pierson, on Aug. 16, 1980. Richard loved participating in the activities of his children and family, fishing, music, playing guitar and racing.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Jean Pierson Driver; son, Richard David Driver; daughter, Rachel Marie Driver; and mother Jeanne Driver, all of Longview. Richard is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Jarrell and Leesa Driver of Seminole, Texas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeanne Anne and Chris Mauck of Brimingham, Ala., and Dana and Mark M anion of Frankfurt, Germany; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janet and Todd Kelley of Largo, Fla.; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jeff and Kim Pierson of Fort Lauderdale and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Richie and Rachel Driver Scholarship Fund, c/o Eastman Credit Union, P.O. Box 7444, Longview, Texas, 75608.
The family will receive friends at the funeral and memorial center from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday.
Freddie Joe Hart
Freddie Joe Hart, 70, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2003, at Hospice House in Odessa.
He was born March 3, 1933, to Andrew and Jeanie Hart in Hugo, Okla.
Freddie was a faithful member of Zion Fellowship of God. He loved traveling on motorcycles and going fishing. He served in the U.S. Airforce, and was then employed by El Paso Products as a painter and sandblaster. He was a respected independent businessman the last 20 years of his life.
Graveside services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2003, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Dr. Dewey Blevins officiating.
His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Hart of Odessa; one daughter, Lesa Holcomb and husband Albert of Odessa; nephew, Bill Thomas and wife Mable of Odessa; sister, Betty Moore of Brady, Texas; grandchildren, Wesley Hudnall of Odessa; Kellie and Richard Moore of Midland; Cody Hudnall and Mandy Anglin of Midland; great-grandchildren, Colton Lee Moore, Braden Moore, and Berkley L. Hudnall, all of Midland, and close family friends, Paul and Kristy Jenkins and children.

Pat Haygood
Funeral services for Pat Haygood, 70, of Andrews will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2003, at the First Baptist Church in Andrews with the Rev. John Yeates of the First Baptist Church in Vernon, Texas, and the Rev. Doug Kello of the First Baptist Church in Andrews officiating.
Family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at McNett Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Andrews North cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home of Andrews.
He died Friday, March 7, 2003, at his residence in Andrews.
He was born Sept. 10, 1932, in Mountainaire, N.M. He moved to Kermit in 1948 from Wink. He played in the state finals on the Kermit High School football team in 1950. He graduated from Kermit High School in 1951. He had been the 126 pound golden gloves state boxing champion. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He married
Dorothy Madison on Aug. 15, 1953, in Kermit. He had worked for TransWestern Pipeline as a field mechanic from 1968-1993.
They moved to Andrews in 1998. He coached Little League Baseball in Kermit and Andrews. The Kermit Little League Baseball field had been named after him as “Haygood Field”. He owned Haygood Sports in Andrews. He was known as “Grand Daddy” by many kids in Kermit and Andrews. He was an avid sports fan, was an artist, loved to fish and collected arrowheads. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Haygood of Andrews; three sons, Sam Haygood and wife Katherine of Amarillo, Joe Haygood and wife Michelle of Andrews and Dan Haygood and wife Hilary of Andrews; mother, Alice Weaver of Austin; sister, Imogene Kitchens of Austin, eight grandchildren, Brady Haygood, Tyler Haygood, Brandon Haygood, Corey Haygood, Lane Haygood, Patrick Haygood, Joe Ryne Haygood and Malia Godfrey; and one great-granddaughter, Leilani Godfrey.

Kenneth WinfieId Keene
EDMONTON, Alberta, Canada — Kenneth WinfieId Keene, 83, passed away February 26, 2003, at University Hospital. Cremation followed at Park Memorial Funeral Home. A memorial service was held at Vegreville United Methodist Church Friday, February 28, 2003.
He was born June 28, 1920, in Iola, Kan., to Helen Okeson and Harry Winfield Keene. He attended school in Lawrence and graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor of science degree in geology. He served as a First Lieutenant in the Field Artillery in World War II, seen action in Philippines and Leyte.
He was employed by Warren Oil, later Gulf Oil, where he later retired. Then he started Keene Geological until 1987. Being an Eagle Scout, his love for kids and passion for scouting lasted for 69 years. He also volunteered with Christmas In April and the Food Pantry at St. Luke’s.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Keene; daughter, Kandace Rice and husband, Mike, of Durango, Colo.; sons, Greg and wife, Jackie, of Odessa, Kenneth Jr. of Las Animas, Colo., Douglas and wife, Debbie, of Boulder, Colo., and Gary and wife, Suse, of Boston, Mass.; brother, W. Richard and wife, Jan, of Mission Hills, Kan.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial at St. Luke’s slated for early May 2003. Donations may be directed to Troop #34 or the Food Pantry at St. Luke’s UMC.

Eunie Trent Yates
Eunie Trent Yates, 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior March 6, 2003.
Mrs. Yates was born in Hood County, Texas, on Dec. 6, 1911, to Myrtle and Emory Trent.
She is survived by one son, Cody Yates and wife Linda Lee of Brownwood, Texas; two daughters, Linda Mitchell and husband Allen of Cuero, Texas; and Sharon Yates Pumphrey of Conroe, Texas. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Robert and Bonnie Thomas, Becky and Joey Janasik, Melva and Kerry Sawyer, Rissa Davilla, Melanie and Russel Regnier, Belinda Gayler, Sondra Walker, Trent and Melissa Yates, Michelle Pumphrey and Ray Soliz, Chip Pumphrey and Cheryl and Ben Rollman; 19 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Eunice has many nieces and nephews and other relatives that she loved.
Mrs. Yates was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years; and two daughters, Lurlie “Lee” Thomas and Myrtle Belle Yates. Four brothers and two sisters also preceded Mrs. Yates in death.
Eunice was a Baptist by faith. She was an avid bowler for almost thirty years winning numerous pins and trophies. Eunice and S.O. were long-time owners of the Washpot Laundry in Odessa, Texas.
The family wants to give special thanks to the ones who gave of themselves during Mrs. Yates illness; Melanie Regnier, Becky Shackelford, Bonnie Thomas, Melva Sawyer, Doris Archer, Linda Mitchell, Dawn and Summer Fuller, Jody Walters, Janice and Odyssey Health Care.
Family visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2003, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home in Odessa.
Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2003, at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with burial to follow at Ector County cemetery.

MONAHANS — Pat Brown, 78, of Hobbs, N.M., a retired employee of Furr’s Inc., died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, in Hobbs.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Family Funeral Services Funeral Home. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Family Funeral Services/ Jackie Harkey.
She was born in Mitchell County and was a former resident of Monahans.

ODESSA — Ray Allen Durden, 72, of Odessa, a retired welder, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at Sienna Care Center.

He was born in Fluvanna. He was Baptist.

MULLIN — H. Dean “Mac” McAtee, 76, of Odessa, a tool pusher, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, at his residence.

He was born in Elsworth, Kan. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
