ODESSA — Sidney L. Cherry, 64, of Odessa passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. She was born Jan. 30, 1939, in Mexico, Mo., to David and Peggy Hubbard. Graveside services were held Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jim Ray Brown officiating.
Sidney was valedictorian of Centralia High School in Centralia, Mo., and a graduate of Colorado Women’s College in Denver. Some of her loved pastimes were golfing, gardening and cooking. She was Methodist. She was a very attentive wife and mother.
She was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her husband, Jamie Michael Cherry Sr.; son, Jamie Michael Cherry Jr. of Palestine; mother, Peggy Hubbard of Centralia, Mo; two grandchildren, Fanci Cherry and Chelsi Cherry.
Services were entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Belia Maria Flores
ODESSA — Belia Maria Flores, 68, of Cuero passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, at Home Hospice in Odessa.
She was born November 11, 1934 in Cuero to Indalesio and Amada Mendez. She was married
to Mario Flores. She was a Catholic and a homemaker, as well as a migrant worker.
She is survived by her husband, Mario Flores of Uvalde; son, Mario Flores Jr. of Tennessee Colony, Texas; daughter, Belia Aguilar of Hereford; brothers, Frank Mendez of Union Grove, Wis., and Martin Mendez of Waterford, Wis.; sisters, Maria Tovar and Anita Mendez, both of Crystal City; eight grandchildren, all of Hereford; and one great-grandson of Odessa.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
