Virginia L. Westfall
ODESSA On Thursday, Feb. 21, 2003, Virginia L. Westfall went home to be with the Lord.
Virginia was born Jan. 20, 1926, in Reading, Mich., to David and Lilah Schlegel. On June 19, 1948, she married
R. W. Dick Westfall. They moved to Odessa in 1950.
In 1963, she got her licensed vocational nursing certificate from Odessa College. Over the years, she worked as a nurse at Medical Center Hospital, various nursing homes and in homes as a private duty nurse. In the early 1980s, her love of ceramic art led her to open a small ceramics shop in West Odessa. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Dick Westfall; and two sons, David Wayne Westfall and Donald L. Westfall.
She is survived by one sister, Donna Tonkel of Reading, Mich.; sons, Rick Westfall and wife, Peggy, of Odessa, Mark Westfall and wife, Debbie, of Odessa, and Larry Clevenger and wife, Jan, of Kalamazoo, Mich.; daughter, Bonnie Ruppert and husband, Larry, of Kalamazoo, Mich.; grandsons, Mark Clevenger, Aaron Westfall, Jason Westfall, Cris Westfall and Joshua Westfall; granddaughters, Melissa Koehler, Pam Freman, Lori Brown, Dana Brown, Renae Jones, Jennifer Pickett and Jessica Westfall; along with 14 great-grandchildren.
She will be dearly missed by her many friends from a lifetime of giving and helping others.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, in the chapel at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Young officiating.
