Sue Myrtle Medlen
STEPHENVILLE — Sue Myrtle Medlen, 92, of Odessa passed away Sunday, March 30, 2003, at Hospice House in Odessa. She was born September 9, 1910, in Brenham, Texas.
Sue married
Dr. A. B. Medlen June 6, 1936, in Waco. He preceded her in death April 22, 1978. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Stephenville. She was also involved in the Organ Club, Music Teacher’s Club, T.E.L. Sunday School Class and the NTS Club. She was a piano and organ teacher.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Lacy Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at First Baptist Church in Stephenville with the Rev. Buddy Wells officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory cemetery. Services are entrusted to Lacy Funeral Home.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Ida Medlen of Sugarland; daughter, Suzanne Medlen of Odessa; and several cousins.
Genaro Reyes
MARFA — Genaro L. Reyes, 88, of Marfa, a painter, died Sunday, March 16, 2003.
Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Mike Alcuino officiating. Burial will be at the Catholic cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home.
He was born in Shafter and was a lifelong resident of Marfa. He was Catholic. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Margarita Reyes of Marfa; step-daughters, Anna Lara of Odessa and Frances Garcia of Marfa; son, Ruben Reyes of Odessa; step-sons, Richard Rios of Toledo, Ohio, and Raul Rios of Odessa; sister, Matilde Frietez of Odessa; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Elisa Webster
FORT DAVIS — Elisa B. Webster, 90, of El Paso, a homemaker, died Saturday, March 15, 2003, at her residence.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Mike Alcuino officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home of Marfa.
She was born in El Paso. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Emma Hartnett of El Paso; son, Frank Webster of California; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

MIDLAND — Kenneth Kennerly, 83, of Midland died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at his residence.

Ruth Rockwell
MONAHANS — Ruth Rockwell, 71, of Monahans, Texas, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2003, in a Denton hospital after a short illness. She was born August 27, 1931, to George and Lorie Sawyer Bicknell.
Ruth was a mother and retired sales representative. Her husband, Gerald Rockwell, preceded her in death in 1998. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Andrews of Monahans; brother, Don Bicknell of Paint Rock; her children, Donna and husband, John Foust, of Denton, Texas, Jerry Nell and husband, Benny Kilcrease of Monahans, Kay Moyers of Denton, Texas, and one son, Keith and wife, Annitta Rockwell, of Deerpark, Texas; grandchildren, Jenna Moyers, Kelsey Kilcrease, Shenay and Ryan Rockwell. She had many nieces and nephews, other family members and friends that were also a very big part of her life. She will be missed by all.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at Family Funeral Services in Monahans, with services at Third & Dwight Church of Christ, at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 27. Mike McDonald and Greg Holly will officiate. Burial will be in Monahans Memorial cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Monahans Senior Citizens Center.

Elsie Louise Donohue
ODESSA — Elsie Louise Donohue, age 71, died Sunday, March 23, 2003, at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston. Elsie Jordan was born June 2, 1931, in Best, Texas, to Clay Francis and Nellie Lorene Jordan.
Elsie married
John Joseph Donohue on September 18, 1980, in Odessa. She was a retired supervisor for Southwestern Bell. Elsie was a long time member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens cemetery.
Elsie was preceded in death by her husband John Joseph Donohue; and brother, Rubin Jordan.
She is survived by her son, J.C. Nickens and wife, Melinda, of Houston; daughter, Dolores Bishop and husband, Hollis, of Burleson; brother, Bueford Jordan of Eastland; sister-in-law, Jeanette Jordan of Deer Park; grandchildren, Brent Stringer and wife, Carey, Brandi McCortney and husband, Matt, Marie Nickens and Clay Nickens; great-grandchildren, Austin Stringer, Alex Alvarado, Jacob McCortney and Emily Stringer; nieces, Sherry Meynier of Deer Park and Janie McCallister of Mesquite; and special friend, Barbara Rourke of Houston.

Veto Porter Miller
ODESSA — Veto Porter Miller, 81, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at the Hospice House. He was born April 16, 1921, in Spur, Texas.
He married
Lena Faye Wynn July 3, 1948, in Smyer, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a Sgt. in the 121st Infantry Regiment. He received the Purple Heart. He moved to Odessa in 1966 from the Lubbock area. He was scoutmaster of Troop 54 and was also involved with the E.C.A.R.C. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and a member of University Heights Baptist Church. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his family. He also like riding and breaking horses. He worked as a driver for Tex Trail, a division of Big Tex Trailers.
He was preceded in death by parents, Sisrow and Madie Miller; sons, Jerry Mitchell Miller and Veto Earl Miller; and one brother and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Miller of Odessa; son, Randall Miller and wife, Kitty, of Andrews; daughters, Carolyn Johnson and husband, Domingo, of Odessa, Joy Johnson and husband, Mike, of Princeton, Texas, Dana Peters, Janice Marin and husband, Mark, and Rhonda Bell and husband, Randy, all of Odessa; sister, Wilda Harding of Lubbock; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2003, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Cecil Maxey officiating.

He was born San Antonio.

LUFKIN — The Rev. Flenoy Eubanks, 86, of Lufkin, a minister, died Saturday, March 8, 2003, at Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Arrangements by Family Funeral Care of Lufkin.
He was born in Jena, Louisiana. He was Baptist.

ODESSA— Freddie Joe Hart, 70, an independent businessman, died Saturday, March 8, 2003, at Hospice House in Odessa.

He was born in Hugo, Okla. He served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Zion Fellowship of God.
