ODESSA — Howard E. Wenger, 62, of Odessa, a postal carrier, died Saturday, March 8, 2003, at his residence.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Sherwood Baptist Church the Rev. Jerry Coffman officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Goshen, Ind. He served in the United States Air Force. He was Baptist.

Joshua Paul Trekell
DALLAS — Joshua Paul Trekell, 24, died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, in an automobile accident in Dallas, Texas.
Memorial services were held at Perkins Chapel at SMU on March 6, 2003. Services were conducted by Rev. Steve Jester and associate pastor Melinda Veatch of St. Phillip Presbyterian of Hurst, Texas, and Rev. Dr. William M. Finnim, Chaplain of SMU, Dallas, Texas.
Josh was born November 14, 1978, in Odessa. He started to school at Gonzales Elementary. The family moved to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area in 1990. Josh graduated from North Richland Hills Christian School in 1997. He then attended Southern Methodist University where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and photo editor for the Daily Campus Newspaper. He traveled and photographed many parts of the world including Spain, Italy, France and Sweden. In 2001, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history and political science and had plans to pursue a career in law. Josh was an active member of intramural sports and volunteered with the Special Olympics. Josh was a member of St. Phillips Presbyterian Church of Hurst, Texas.
Josh is survived by his parents, Don and Theresa Trekell, and sister, Emily Trekell of Dallas; maternal grandparents, George and Irene Stanford of Odessa; paternal grandparents, Marty and Don Trekell of Casa Grande, Ariz.; and his college sweetheart, Lindsay Lowery of Memphis, Tenn.
Josh was a wonderful person and loyal friend. His smile and sense of humor will be missed.
Elise Louise Donohue
ODESSA — Elsie Louise Donohue, age 71, died Sunday, March 23, 2003, at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston. Elsie was born June 2, 1931, in Best, Texas, to Clay Francis and Nellie Lorene Jordan.
Elsie married
John Joseph Donohue on September 18, 1980, in Odessa. She was a retired supervisor for Southwestern Bell. Elsie was a long time member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens cemetery.
Elsie was preceded in death by her husband John Joseph Donohue; and brother, Rubin Jordan.
She is survived by her son, J.C. Nickens and wife, Melinda, of Houston; daughter, Dolores Bishop and husband, Hollis, of Burleson; brother, Bueford Jordan of Eastland; sister-in-law, Jeanette Jordan of Deer Park; grandchildren, Brent Stringer and wife, Carey, Brandi McCortney and husband, Matt, Marie Nickens and Clay Nickens; great-grandchildren, Austin Stringer, Alex Alvarado, Jacob McCortney and Emily Stringer; nieces, Sherry Meynier of Deer Park and Janie McCallister of Mesquite; and special friend, Barbara Rourke of Houston.

He was born in Grandfalls. He was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II.

She was born in Echo.

Harold Baxter
CROSS PLAINS — Mr. Harold Baxter, 73, of Cross Plains, Texas, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, in the Hendricks Medical Center in Abilene, Texas.
Harold was born January 13, 1930, in Paint Rock, Texas, to Hubert B. Baxter and Elwood Cook Baxter. He married
Betty Porter of Lovington, N.M., on May 20, 1954. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #0432, and the VFW of Brownwood. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Cross Plains.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Baxter of Cross Plains; daughter, Dena and Joe Terstegge of Cross Plains; sisters, Freddia Taylor of Abilene and Sylvia and Bill Hudnall of Fort Worth; two grandchildren, James Maxwell of Abilene and Kathleen Terstegge of Cross Plains; two great-grandchildren; Kelsea Re-Lynn Maxwell of Hamby and Brandon Lee Maxwell of Abilene. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2003, at the Higginbotham Chapel with Ronnie White officiating. Burial will be in the Cottonwood cemetery directed by Higginbotham Funeral Home of Cross Plains.
Joan Easter James
SAN ANGELO — Joan Easter James died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at home at Lake Brownwood, Texas, after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2003, at the Shaffer Funeral Home’s Pioneer Chapel. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon at Resthaven cemetery in McCamey, Texas. Services are under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
Mrs. James was born in Bolivor, New York, on January 14, 1934.
Survivors include one daughter, Dyana Strawn and husband, Herschel Strawn, of Lake Brownwood, Texas; three sons, Kenneth James of Bridge Port, Texas, Tommy James and wife, Rita James, of Alvin, Texas, and Tony James of McCamey, Texas; three brothers, Guy Day, Jr. of Lone Oak, Texas, Keith Day of Lone Oak, Texas and Bob Day of McCamey, Texas; two sisters, Beverly Mix of Lone Oak, Texas, and Guyla Normand of Possom Kingdom, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gilmer R. James; her father, Guy Day; her mother, Crystal Day; two sisters, Beatrice Richardson and Virgina James; and one daughter-in-law, Sue Ellen James, who she considered as a daughter.
