Triona ‘Sis’ Bingham
ODESSA — Triona M. “Sis” Teague Canada Bingham, 75, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at Hospice House in Odessa. She was born September 30, 1927, in Lamesa, Texas, to Bob and Ezdar Teague who were early farm and ranching pioneers at Hobbs, N.M. They preceded her in death in 1972.
She moved to Southern California from Hobbs in 1955. She returned to Odessa in 1996 to be closer to her family. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerald E. Canada in 1991, and her husband, Donald E. Bingham in 1997.
She is survived by a son, James E. Canada of Abilene, son, Donald R. Bingham and wife, Ester; two grandsons of South Korea; a granddaughter Jennifer Bingham of Germany; sister, Bobbie Jenkins of Odessa; brother, Tommy Teague and wife, Judy, of Hobbs, N.M.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2003, in the Frank W. Wilson Chapel with Dr. Dewey Blevins officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill cemetery in Odessa.
Arrangements entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Ismael Tarin Velasco
ODESSA — Ismael Tarin Velasco, 65, of Odessa passed away April 28, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born May 28, 1937, in Presidio to Manuel and Adelida Velasco. He married Gloria Gomez. He was a Catholic and a truck driver.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Gloria Velasco of Odessa; son, Joseph A. Lujan and wife, Sylvia, of El Paso; daughters, Rosemary Tarango and husband, Jacob, of Odessa, Norma Chasco and husband, Mario, of Odessa, Joanna Loya and husband, Jose, of Odessa; sisters, Cruz Vasquez of Odessa and Bernicia Villalobos of Austin; aunts, Josefina Martinez of El Paso, Christina Rodriguez of Hobbs, N.M., Jose Tarin of Bakersfield, Concha Tarin of Odessa, Amanda Flores of Odessa; uncle, Alfonso Velasco of Odessa; and 11 grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday May 1, 2003, at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. May 2, 2003 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Woodruff officiating. Burial will follow at Rosehill cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Tarango, Joe Lujan, Jose Loya, Mario Chasco, Carlos Chasco, Fernando Villalobos, Jose Guzman, and Jose L. Tarango.
Services by Odessa Funeral Home.

Donna Fisher Harrington
ODESSA — Donna Fisher Harrington passed from this life on April 28, 2003, at Hospice House in Odessa, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Amos Harrington of Gardendale, Texas, as well as her father, James C. Fisher, and brother, Bobby C. Fisher.
Donna was born in Odessa on January 25, 1953, to James C. Fisher and Bobbie E. Fisher. She attended high school at OHS and married Amos Harrington in 1970.
Donna is survived by her two children, her daughter, Amanda Summers and husband, Brian Summers, and her baby granddaughter, Aubrie Summers, of Gardendale; her son, Joshua Harrington, also of Gardendale; her mother, Bobbie E. Fisher of Odessa; two sisters, Terrie Stelly and husband, Blain Stelly of Opelousas, La., Sue Reeves and husband, Mac Reeves of Odessa; and one brother, Ricky Fisher and wife, Cathy Fisher, of Odessa.
Donna was a faithful Christian and was a member of The Cowboy Church of the American West. Until her death, Donna was a true and loving mother, grandmother and a beloved friend of Ron and Paula Norris. Donna had many friends in this journey through life and loved her family.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2003, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Pastor Tony Connor of The Cowboy Church of the American West will officiate.

W. I. ‘Dub’ Butler
ODESSA — W. I. “Dub” Butler, 76, of Odessa went to be with our Lord and Savior Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at his residence. He was born September 5, 1926, in Cooter, Mo. He married Annie Jo Malone July 2, 1949, in Lamesa. He was a line foreman for H & H Electrical Contractors for over 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ogden and Mary Butler; sisters, Ollie and Louise Pharris; and brother, Gene.
He is survived by his wife, Annie Josephine “Jo” Butler of Odessa; son, Bill Butler and wife, Paula, of Odessa; daughter, Shirley Hanks and husband, Jerry, of Odessa; brothers, Bill Butler and wife, Robbie, of Odessa and John Butler of Abilene; grandchildren, Michele and Darren Seglem, Jarrod Hanks, Shane and Kayla Shirley; great-grandchildren, Bryson Shirley, Alexis Shirley and Hunter Seglem.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2003, at First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Fred Irving Carr
ODESSA — Fred Irving Carr died April 27, 2003, at Parks Methodist Retirement Village in Odessa, Texas. He and his wife moved to Odessa from Scottsdale, Ariz., in 1997 to be near his daughter and son-in-law, Sidney and John Arrick, and their family.
He was born July 8, 1913, in Eldon, Mo., and married Edwinna Vincent February 24, 1938. They were married in Brumley, Mo., by Reverend Thompson who had married his wife’s great-grandmother and great-grandfather. After serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII, he returned to Eldon where they owned two restaurants and later a dairy.
In 1953, he and his family moved to Coahoma, Texas, where he worked for Reef Oil Corporation until his retirement in 1967. During this time, he moved to the Reef Oil Refinery at Vincent and later to Big Spring.
Upon retirement, he and his wife moved to Scottsdale, Ariz., where they lived for 30 years enjoying golf, travel and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Edwinna; and daughters and sons-in-law, Ilameta and Major General Burt Moore of Birmingham, Ala., and Marilee and Mack Frazier of Tarpley, Texas, Sidney and John Arrick of Odessa; grandchildren, Lezlae and Dr. Peter Grubb of San Antonio, Shad and Tana Frazier of Tulsa, Okla., Drs. Meredith Moore and Michael Mefford of Niceville, Fla., Jon Moore, Capt., USAF, of Okinawa, Japan, Brooke and Buddy Everett of Big Spring, Jamie and Heath Anderson of Odessa, and Jay Arrick of Lubbock; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Theresa Harriett Schick of Eldon, Mo.; one sister-in-law, Martha Carr of Eldon, Mo.; one aunt, Eunice Moore of Scottsdale, Ariz.; numerous nieces and nephews, some of whom regarded him as a surrogate father.
He loved well and was well loved. He lived life with a passion and a strong sense of integrity and honesty. Raised a Baptist, he became a Methodist after moving to Texas. Fishing, golfing, hunting and dancing were enjoyable activities for him. Through the years, he and his wife cleared the floor when they danced.
Special thanks to the nurses, aides, and staff at Parks Methodist Retirement Village where he was given loving care in the last year and a half of his life. Memorials may be sent to the staff fund at Parks Methodist Retirement Village.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

B. O. Cleckler
ABILENE — B. O. Cleckler, 98, a lifelong resident of Taylor County, died Saturday, April 26, 2003, at an Abilene nursing center.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 29th, at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with Hospice Chaplain Paul R. Matta and Todd Spain officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene.
A native of Abilene, he was born to Joseph Glen and Hattie S. (Lane) Cleckler on July 15, 1904, and attended public schools in Abilene and Merkel. He served in the Texas National Guard.
Mr. Cleckler was an auto mechanic, and worked for Civil Service in San Antonio for a period of time. He returned to Abilene where he worked in the oil fields and later retired from Hardin-Simmons University after working 22 years in the maintenance department.
He and Lucile Byram were married on December 7, 1934, in Belle Plain, near Baird, by a well-known Baptist evangelist, Johnny Lovell. Mr. Cleckler was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Abilene. He was a volunteer with the foster grandparents programs of both Abilene State School and Day Nursery of Abilene.
Mr. Cleckler was preceded in death by his wife, Lucile Cleckler in 1981; a son, Aubrey Glen Cleckler in 1983; his parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include two sons, John C. Cleckler and wife, Ruth, of Odessa, and Noel O. Cleckler and wife, Fran, of Abilene; a daughter, Aleta Lang and husband, Joe, of Abilene; five granddaughters, Cornelia Noland and husband, Stacy, of Midland, Shelly Beasley and husband, Greg, of Hawley, Teena Kincaid and husband, Joey, of Abilene, Aleesa Blankenship and husband, Ed, of Abilene, and Christina Lother and husband, David, of San Diego, California; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the donor’s choice.

Veneita Faye Evans
EVANS, W.Va. — Veneita Faye Evans, 66, of Point Pleasant, W.Va, departed this life April 27, 2003, in Point Pleasant, following an extended illness.
She was born September 28, 1936, in Kermit, Texas, a daughter of the late Herman Roy and Dovie Mae (Pogue) Slaughter.
She was a retired medical supervisor from Lakin State Hospital and was a Baptist by faith.
Surviving are sons, Steven E. Evans of Kermit and William Evans of Columbus, Ohio; daughters, Vicki L. Miller of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Cristi M. Reisenbichler of Dixon, Mo.; brother, James B. Slaughter of Trinity, N.C.; sisters, Opal C. Wright of Kermit and Linda G. Engle of Venus, Texas; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Service will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at Casto Funeral Home with the Rev. Ben Skeen officiating. Burial will follow in the Blaine Memorial cemetery, Cottageville, W.Va. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Agnes P. Gawlik
GEORGE WEST — Agnes P. (Dworaczyk) Gawlik, 83, a longtime resident of Odessa, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2003, at the Hospice House. She was born January 10, 1920, in Panna Maria, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. She loved crocheting, ceramics, painting and had entered her art work in the county fair and had won many ribbons. She also loved gardening and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Paul Gawlik April 25, 1978.
She is survived by her sons, Charles E. Gawlik of Odessa, Ben Gawlik and his wife, Deb, of Tucson, Ariz., Robert L. Gawlik and his wife, Shirley, of Fort Worth and Daniel David Gawlik and his wife, Lynn, of Odessa; daughter, Mary Ann Moore and her husband, Roy Jr., of Fort Worth; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2003, at the St. George Catholic Church in George West, Texas. Interment will follow at the St. George Catholic cemetery in George West.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice House in Odessa.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Dale Lee Singleton
DE LEON — Dale Lee Singleton, 83, of De Leon, Texas, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2003, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. He was born February 26, 1920, in De Leon to the late Dudley Francis Singleton and Alice Olivia Wells Singleton.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2003, at the De Leon First Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Satterwhite officiating assisted by Rev. Mark Roath. Family visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 30. Services are under the direction of Nowlin Funeral Home.
Mr. Singleton was a U.S. Navy veteran where he served as an Aircraft Machinist Mate Flight Engineer Second Class during World War II. He retired to De Leon in 1984 from Amoco Production as an oil well tester. He was a member of the De Leon First Baptist Church and was a 33 year resident of Odessa.
Dale married Bonnie Moore June 2, 1942, at Rock Bluff Community in Comanche County, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Singleton of De Leon; two sons, Larry Singleton of Arlington and Gary Singleton of Detroit, Mich.; one daughter, Deanna Knauer of Duncanville; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, R.V. Singleton.

Travis P. Gordon
COLEMAN — Travis P. Gordon, age 69, of Midland, died Saturday, April 26, 2003, at Midland Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman, Texas. Burial will follow in the Coleman City cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Travis was born March 4, 1934, in Fisher County, Texas and was a son of the late Condy and Ollie Swanner Gordon. He grew up in the Stephenville area and attended school at Sylvester. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a Master Sergeant. On August 12, 1955, he married Gloria June Pope in Coleman and she preceded him in death on November 20, 1991. Travis lived in Odessa from 1955-1970, Sonora from 1970-1984 and moved to Midland in 1984 where he lived at the time of his death. He had worked in the oil field since 1952 and been a tool pusher for many years for TMBR/Sharp Driling Inc. He was Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, David and wife, Jacque Gordon, and John Dale Gordon, all of Midland; six grandchildren, Andrea Sanders of Midland, Kendra Gordon of San Angelo, Matthew Gordon of Midland, Kirsten Gordon and Austin Clayton, both of Bronte, and Owen Tyler Gordon of Midland; one great-grandson, Tyler Mays of Midland; two sisters, Adele Bigham of Roby and Gwen Bray of Stephenville; one brother, Leon Gordon of Stephenville; numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends including his best friend, Bill Childress of Midland.
Memorials may be made to March of Dimes Permian Basin Division.
