Brian Fletcher

DENVER CITY - Brian Tate Fletcher, 23, of Abilene, a bricklayer, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 1997 in Abilene.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Valera cemetery in Valera. Arrangements by Roger Pool Funeral Home of Denver City.

He was born in Artesia, N.M., and had lived in Abilene three years. He was a 1997 graduate of Cisco Junior College. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Denver City.

SURVIVORS: Parents, Bruce and Connie Fletcher of San Angelo; sisters, D'Lee Fletcher and Kristy Engle, both of San Angelo; brother, Luke Fletcher of San Angelo; grandmother, Theresa Fletcher of Clyde; and grandfather, Berl Ancell of Artesia, N.M.

Edward Terrell

MENA, Ark. - Edward Llewellyn 'Jim' Terrell Jr., 76, a heavy equipment operator, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1997, at the Mena Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Mount Gilead cemetery. Arrangements by Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.

He was born in Rocky, and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Old Dallas Masonic Lodge.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Roger Terrell of Mena, Ark. and Jimmy Ray Terrell of Tallahassee, Fla.; daughters, Debra Terrell of Amarillo, Sherrill Watson of Odessa and Shanna Kahn of San Angelo; brother, Arnold Terrell of Mena, Ark.; sisters, Reva Gann of Mena, Ark. and Syble Sheldon of Midland; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Nell Brown

ODESSA - Nell Brown, 84, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 1997, at Canterbury Villa in Dimmitt.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Odessa cemetery with the Rev. Robert Fletcher officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Eldorado and came to Odessa in 1919 from Fort Stockton. She was a Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Several nieces and nephews.

Erma Herrin

ODESSA - Erma Marie Herrin, 81, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 1997, at her residence.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Jack Watkins officiating. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

She was born in Elgin and was a 50-year resident of Odessa.

SURVIVORS: Son, Frank Jerry Herrin of Odessa; daughter, Ruby J. Boulton of Odessa; sisters, Ollie Mae Hickman and Alma A. Pettis, both of Overton; brother, J.F. Pettis of Overton; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Alexandra Luker

MIDLAND - Alexandra Nicole Luker, 3-month-old daughter of Dennis and Michelle Luker of Midland, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 1997, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lutheran Church of the Risen Lord with the Rev. James Otterness officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.

She was born in Midland and was a resident of Midland.

SURVIVORS: Parents; grandparents, Mike and Patty Loftis of Midland, Mike and Linda Pepoff of New Braunfels and J.R. and Joanne Luker of Odessa; great-grandparents, O'Neil and Gwenlyn Loftis of Midland and Albert and Alva Clough of San Antonio; and great-great-grandparent, Walton O. Loftis of Midland.

Nolberto Martinez Sr.

ANDREWS - Nolberto Martinez Sr., 58, a laborer, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 1997, at Permian General Hospital.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Bernard Gully officiating. Burial will be at Andrews North cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.

He was born in Sanderson and was a resident of Andrews.

SURVIVORS: Mother, Juanita Perez Martinez of Andrews; son, Sonny Martinez Jr. of Andrews; daughters, Paula Carrasco of Los Angeles, Calif., and Teresa DeLacruz and Rachel Trevino, both of Andrews; stepbrother, Ramon Martinez of Plainview; stepsisters, Cecilia Mendoza of San Angelo and Francisca Naverette of Alpine; and 14 grandchildren.

Cruz Vasquez

MARFA - Cruz L. Vasquez, 87, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital.

Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marfa. Burial will be at Merced cemetery. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home of Odessa.

She was born in Shafter and came to Odessa in 1947 from Marfa. She was a Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Roberto J. Vasquez, Fermin Vasquez Jr. and Raul L. Vasquez, all of Odessa; daughters, Priscilla Suarz of Las Vegas, Nev., and Frances Cruz Militscher of Long Island, N.Y.; 25 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Mary Jo Whitley

ODESSA - Mary Jo Whitley, 61, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Riley officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

She was born in Brownwood and was a resident Odessa since 1952.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Eugene Whitley Jr. of Odessa and Ricky Ray of Thailand; daughter, Daniece Hagen of Odessa; brother, Floyd Ray Baty of Brownwood; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Betty Carter

ODESSA - Betty Jean Carter, 76, a homemaker, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Brewton, Ala., and was a resident of Odessa since 1981. She was a Methodist. SURVIVORS: Husband, Hobart E. Carter of Odessa; daughter, Dianne Hernandez of Fort Worth; and three grandchildren.

Ott Cook

BALMORHEA - Ott Cook, 90, a cowboy and farmer, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1997, in Big Spring.

Services were held Monday at the First Baptist Church in Balmorhea with the Rev. Rick Moon officiating. Burial was at Balmorhea cemetery. Arrangements by Myers & Smith Funeral Home in Big Spring.

He was born in New Braunfels and was a resident of Big Spring. He was a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Edna Cook of Big Spring; sons, Pecos Cook of Balmorhea and Jack D. Cook of Odessa; daughters, Juanita Rogers of Lubbock, Wanda Stanley of Odessa, Dolly Bryant and Vera Martin, both of Big Spring, and Linda Armstead of Levelland; sister, Eva Pennington of Comfort; 24 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Bess Hamilton

LUBBOCK - Bess Hamilton, 81, a teacher, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1997, in Lubbock.

Funeral services were held at Sanders Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Gene Hawkins officiating. Burial was at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock. Arrangements by Sanders Funeral Home.

She was born in Godley and was a resident of Lubbock. She was a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Sons, D. Clyde Hamilton, Jr., of Bastrop and Jack Hamilton of Topeka, Kan.; daughters, Mary Ray of Lubbock, Martha Tipps of Hereford and Billie Zellars of Odessa; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

LIBERTY - Sallie Mae Henson, 90, a homemaker, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 1997, in Kermit.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Fair Lawn cemetery in Liberty. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.

She was born in Sour Lake and was a resident of Monahans. She was a member of First Christian Church.

SURVIVORS: Son, Roy D. Henson of Monahans; daughter, Agnes Huss of Oklahoma City, Okla.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
