Zanna Karen Mayfield
NEW BRAUNFELS — Zanna Karen Mayfield, 61, passed away July 19, 2003, in New Braunfels.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2003, at Goetz Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jeremy Roy officiating. Interment will be private.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. today with the family receiving friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Goetz Funeral Home.
Zanna was born Nov. 24, 1941, in Vernon to Walter and Geraldine Alvey. She was a very special mother and nana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Noel Mayfield.
Survivors include her parents, Walter and Geraldine Alvey of Grandbury; brothers, Ronny Alvey and wife Betty of Irving and Mike Alvey of Grandbury; children, Laurie Mayfield and Walter Fults of New Braunfels, Jay Mayfield of Odessa, Randell Mayfield and wife Sandy of Odessa and Jackie Mayfield and wife Tracy of Seguin; and grandchildren, Cory Fults, Rachel Engelke, Garen Mayfield, McKayla Mayfield, McKenzie Mayfield and McKade Mayfield.

Lyda Lois McMillan
ODESSA — Lyda Lois McMillan, 84, passed away Friday, July 18, 2003, at Parks Methodist Retirement Village.
She was born Feb. 2, 1919, to Curt and Lois Alison in San Angelo.
Lyda was a member of ABWA, a past president and member of the Women’s Golf Association, Medical Center Auxillary and Odessa Country Club. She was a secretary for a CPA firm and a member of First Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, J. Walter Smith and Hugh McMillan; her parents; her brother, Sonny Allison; and her suster, Pat Schwab.
There will be a visitation from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, July 21, 2003, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorial services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Steve Deines officaiting.
Survivors include her daughter, Cheri Dalton and husband Mack of Odessa; grandchildren, Spencer Crawford, Julie Morton and husband Derrick, Shannon Crawford, Brett Dalton and Bart Dalton and wife Melissa; and many nieces and nephews.

Lillian Pond
ODESSA — Lillian Pond, 96, died Sunday, July 6, 2003, at the Robert Lee Care Center.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at the First Christian Church in Odessa. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Colorado City cemetery.
Lillian was born on June 30, 1907, in Colorado City. After attending college in Denton, she returned to Colorado City to work for Shell Pipeline and later transferred to Odessa where she retired in 1969.
A long-time Odessa resident, she was an active member of the First Christian Church where she made many loving and lasting friendships through her Circle Groups and working with Meals on Wheels. She was a charter member of the Desk and Derrick and a member of the Colorado City Chapter of the Eastern Star.
Lillian is survived by three generations of nieces and nephews to whom she left a legacy of strength and love. She will be deeply missed.
Maria A. Phillips
ODESSA — Maria A. Phillips, 85, of Odessa, died Thursday, July 17, 2003, at Avalon Nursing Center. She was born July 27, 1917, in Brownsville to Pedro and Manuela Rodriguez.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2003, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with Father Mark Woodruff officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview cemetery in Midland.
Mrs. Phillips was a homemaker and a Catholic.
She is survived by son, Fred M. Phillips III; daughters, Maureen “Marty” Pinkstaff of Odessa; sister, Pola Kilpatrick of Brownsville; brothers, Roy Rodriquez of San Francisco, Calif., and Larry Rodriquez of Brownsville; grandchildren, Lennie Pinkstaff, Greg Pinkstaff and wife, Karen, John Pinkstaff, Steven Pinkstaff, Mike Phillips, Sean Phillips, Carder Adcock, Jason Crispin and wife, Samantha, Michelle Simpson and husband, Justin.

She was born in Boquillas, Texas.

MARATHON — Delfina Hernandez, 88, of Marathon died Saturday, July 19, 2003, in Fort Stockton.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Rick Ruiz officiating. Burial will be at Marathon cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home of Fort Stockton.
She was born in Hot Springs.

July 20, 2003, at Seabury Nursing Center.

He was born in Terlingua. He was a Christian Catholic.

SMITHVILLE — Anna Beth Sherrill, 64, of Smithville, a homemaker, died Friday, July 18, 2003, at her residence.

She was born in Winchester.

B. C. Garrison
ODESSA — B. C. Garrison, 90, of Odessa passed away Monday, June 30, 2003, at the Hospice House. He was born February 1, 1913, in Denison, Texas, to W. W. and Agnes Garrison. He married
Jessie Lea McIntosh January 1, 1965.
Mr. Garrison was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II from 1942 to 1943. B. C. came to Odessa from Hobbs in 1949 and opened Garrison General Tire. He continued that business until 1979 when he and his brother, Monte, started Garrison Tire Service in Odessa. He retired from Garrison Tire in 1989.
Mr. Garrison was a former member of the Odessa Chamber of Commerce, the Odessa Chuck Wagon Gang and a longtime member of the Odessa Country Club. He was a member of H.A. McFarland Masonic Lodge #1338 for over 50 years and a member of the El Maida Shrine Temple. He belonged to Antioch Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jessie Garrison of Odessa; son, Kenneth Garrison of Dewey, Ariz.; daughter, Linda Heath and her husband, Bob, of Dewey, Ariz.; sons, Bob Clifton and his wife, Rhonda, of Marble Falls, Texas, Gary Clifton and his wife, Melissa, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Guy Clifton of Marble Falls; brothers, Monte Garrison of Odessa, Wesley Garrison of Houston and V. L. Garrison of San Francisco, Calif.; sister-in-law, Annye Joe Sanders of Irving; brother-in-law, Jack McIntosh of Odessa; grandchildren, Kim Young, Bobby Heath, Gena Willits, Dode Harvey, Dana Mahoney, Brandi Clifton, Carley Clifton, Dimitri Clifton and Chloe Clifton; and 13 great-grandchildren.
There will be a visitation with family and friends at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2003.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2003, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Fankhauser officiating. Interment will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Ross cemetery in Baird, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Joe Mac Sanders, Chris Sanders, T. McIntosh, Bobby Heath, Dode Harvey and Mac Sanders.
