Raul M. Mosqueda
ODESSA — Raul M. Mosqueda, age 102, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2003, at his home in Chicago, Illinois, after a short period of being diagnosed with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary A. Mosqueda of Odessa, who died in May of 1972. He is survived by his daughter, Liz Whitney of Dallas, Texas; Maria V. Mosqueda of Chicago, Illinois; Thaddeus J. Mosqueda of Minnesota; Mary J. Puetz of Odessa, Texas; Michael Mosqueda of Texas and Mary Bonita Izaguirre of Illinois; 11 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
Private graveside services of burial of ashes will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2003, at Ector County cemetery Eastside.
Officiating Christian burial will be Fr. Francis Frey retired Catholic priest in resident at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Odessa, Texas.
Mr. Raul M. Mosqueda was born in Dallas, Texas, on September 15, 1900. Before moving to Chicago, he was a long time resident of Odessa/Midland, Texas. Long time surviving friends are welcomed to attend but after burial service, his children request private time to grieve at graveside. Please honor their request.
Naomi Mae Ray
Funeral services for Naomi Mae Ray, 84, of Odessa, are scheduled for 4 p.m. Tuesday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Hull officiating. She passed away Friday, June 13, 2003, at Hospice House in Odessa.
Mrs. Rae was born June 3, 1919 in Ada, Okla. to her parents, France and Nancy Hooten Waters. She married
William Carter Ray on Oct. 4, 1936 in Colgate, Okla. They moved to Odessa in 1952 from Ada. She was a retired interior decorator from Sears, a member of University Park Baptist Church and an Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1980 and her son, Terry, in 1991.
She is survived by her two sons, Ronald Ray and wife, Dian, of Midland and Rocky Ray of Odessa; daughter, Marsha Williams and husband, Larry of Odessa; her long-time dear friend, Johnny Brice of Odessa; brother-in-law, E.K. Ray and wife, Lucille of Odessa; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Michael Ray, Jason Ray, Ron Chestnut, Cain Chestnut, Carter Ray and Adam Ray.
Funeral services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Eva Roberts
ODESSA — Eva Belle Roberts was born March 7, 1909, in Joplin, Mo., and passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2003, in Garland, Texas.
Eva married
Arthur Roberts in 1928 in Chickasha, Okla. He preceded her in death in April, 1967.
She is survived by four children, George Roberts, Mary Smith and husband, Robert, Gladys Henson and husband, John, and Gene Roberts and wife, Jean; brother, George Harding; sisters, Jeanette Harding and Sylvia Harding; 16 grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Services were held at 4 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2003, in the Grove Hill Chapel in Dallas. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2003, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa. Arrangements by Grove Hill Funeral Home of Dallas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Luekemia Foundation.
Graciela Valenzuela
Graciela Valenzuela, of Odessa, died Friday, June 13, 2003 at her residence. She was born Feb. 1, 1924 in Berrendo, Monte Escobedo, Zacatecas.
Ms. Valenzuela was a member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church and was a homemaker.
She is survived by her son, Dolores Valenzuela Jr. of Odessa; daughters, Rosa Galvan, Cruz Parra, Bertha Coloni and Melli Saucedo, all of Odessa; brother, Juan Marquez of Guadalajara, Mexico; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

William Alexander II
TERRELL — William Franklin Alexander II, born September 27, 1936, in Terrell, Texas, passed away at his home in Odessa, Texas, on Monday, May 26, 2003.
Fondly known as “Dr. Bill” by those who knew him, he graduated from Terrell High School, where he was an All-Conference running back and member of the State Championship Terrell Tigers football team in 1954. An avid outdoorsman in his youth, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated summa cum laude from Southern Methodist University in 1959, where he was President of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity chapter and one of legendary Professor Paul “Jeske’s boys.”
From SMU, he went on to become a general surgeon and family practitioner at the Alexander Hospital in Terrell, Texas, until 1969. He continued to practice medicine in Texas until the 1980’s, when he completed a residency in psychiatry at St. Mary’s Hospital at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. He spent the the latter part of his career as a practicing psychiatrist in West Texas, until he retired in 2000.
He was an avid golfer and his interest in World War II history led to a love of constructing and flying model airplanes. He will be remembered by patients for his great sense of humor and caring bedside manner.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ruth Alexander, and his father, Gough Alexander Sr. He is survived by his children, William Alexander III, Erin Alexander Paisan, Ashley Alexander Mulligan and Joshua Alexander; his brother, Gough Alexander Jr.; his stepmother, Vivian Alexander; stepsisters, Viv Ann Blair and Judy Alexander; six grandchildren, Tate, Grace, Aidan and Riley Mulligan, Gabby and Isabelle Paisan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2003, at Goggans Funeral home, 1911 N. Francis, Terrell, Texas. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to: Texas Medical Association, Physicians’ Health/Rehabilitation Assistance Fund, 401 W. 15th St., Austin, TX 78701-1680.
Conrad L. Henderson
LOCKNEY — Services for Conrad L. Henderson, 81, of Plainview, Texas, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church in Lockney, Texas, with Reverend Tommie Beck, officiating. Burial will follow services in the Lockney cemetery under the direction of Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home of Lockney, Texas.
Mr. Henderson died Thursday, May 29, 2003, at Garrison Geriatric Care Center in Lubbock, Texas.
Mr. Henderson was born on March 2, 1922, in Haylake, Briscoe County, Texas, to the late Bailey Henderson and Clara Vaughan Henderson. After graduating from Silverton High School, he married
Marie Nance in 1942 in Plainview. She preceded him in death on February 2, 1989. He was also preceded in death by two grandsons. During WWII, he was a Marine on the USS Intrepid in the Pacific Theater. He married
Lee Ella McCasland in November of 1989 in Lubbock. He was a cowman, a lifelong Democrat and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lockney.
Survivors include his wife, Lee Ella Henderson; two sons, Don Henderson of Lockney and Randy Henderson and his wife, Nancy Jane Henderson, of Lockney; one daughter, Nancy Henderson of Odessa; one brother, Deanie Henderson of Plainview; two sisters, Oneta Rodgers of Plainview, LaJuan McCormick of Paris, Texas; three grandchildren, Chanda Lea Riney, Randi Jo Henderson and Hank Henderson; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2003.
Gary Rogers
ODESSA — Funeral services for Gary Dale Rogers of Odessa will be at 11 a.m. CDT Saturday, May 31, at Immanuel Baptist Church. The Rev. Mark Riley will officiate. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in O’Donnell cemetery in O’Donnell, Texas, with the Rev. Ken Peterson officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Baptist Church. Services are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home in Hobbs, N.M.
Mr. Rogers, 47, died Sunday, May 25, in Houston. He was born July 13, 1955, in Lamesa, Texas.
Mr. Rogers was a diesel mechanic. He was a member of the Odessa Chapter of Harley Owners Group and Immanuel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Rogers of Monument, N.M.; his common-law wife, Debra Harkness of Odessa; his son, Zeb Rogers of Odessa; and his sister, Jeannie Browne of Seminole.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roscoe Rogers.

ODESSA — Dovie Lee Norman, 85, of Odessa, died Friday, April 4, 2003, at Avalon Nursing Center.

Justo V. Armendariz
ODESSA — Mass for Justo V. Armendariz, 82, of Odessa will be celebrated at 4 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday at Martinez Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery.
Public visitation will be from 1 to 10 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Martinez Funeral Home.
Mr. Armendariz died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Nov. 2, 1916, in San Jose, Texas. He married
Trinidad Muniz April 28, 1935, at Vado de Piedra.
Pallbearers will be Richard Hernandez, Lee Roy Armendariz Jr., Roy Armendariz, John Armendariz, Richard Lee Olivarez, Martin Olivarez and Joe Angel Ramirez.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Maria Gomez.
Survivors include his wife, Trinidad Armendariz of Odessa; daughters, Felipa Gomez, Nena Levario and Rosa Hernandez, all of Odessa, and Guti Olivarez of Houston; sons, Carlos Armendariz, Juan Armendariz and Joe Armendariz, all of Odessa, and Lee Armendariz of Houston; 33 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

‘The Colonel’ Jimmy Davis
ODESSA — Services for "The Colonel" Jimmy Davis, 88, of Odessa will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. David Atkins officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Davis died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, in Odessa. He was born May 7, 1910, in Oxford, Miss. He married
Gladys Cherry, June 7, 1945, in Nashville, Tenn.
Mr. Davis came to Odessa from Lamesa in 1957. He was the owner and operator of E.R.A. American Real Estate. Mr. Davis also enjoyed his time as an auctioneer. He was Methodist.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Davis of Odessa; son, Jimmy Davis Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Odessa; daughter, Toni Lindley and her husband, Larry, of Odessa; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Georgia Dunaway
ODESSA — Services for Georgia Dunaway, 85, of Odessa will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Temple Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Jack Watkins officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Dunaway died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born March 26, 1913, in Electra. She married
Clarence H. Dunaway Jan. 18, 1934, in Canyon.
Mrs. Dunaway came to Odessa in 1955 from Hobbs, N.M. She was a member of the Eastern Star and was a Rebeckah Goodwill Ambassador for her work with th Rainbow Girls in Hobbs, N.M. She was very active in the PTA in Hobbs, N.M. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence H. Dunaway of Odessa; sons, C.H. Dunaway of McIntosh, N.M., and Bryce J. Dunaway of Fayetteville, Ga.; brother, Warren T. Sanders of Halfmoon Bay, Calif.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Tom White of Andrews.
