Bonnie Lee Maddux Wester
ODESSA — Bonnie Lee Maddux Wester, 82, of Odessa, passed away Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, in Odessa.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Aug. 18, 2003, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Revs. G.A. Magee and Bryan Saffle officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Wester was born June 17, 1921, in Parker County, Texas, to O.E. Maddux and Emma Etta Freeman Maddux. She married
Willis Harvey “Whitey” Wester on Sept. 21, 1941, in Parker County, Texas. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Arvil Dean Maddux.
She moved to Odessa in 1957 and retired from Odessa Medical Center after 12 years of service. Mrs. Wester was a member of Belmont Baptist Church, where she was very active with the Keenagers.
She is survived by one son, Gene Wester of Odessa; 4 daughters, Millie Ward and husband A.L. of Kermit, Texas, Carolyn Farris and husband Jimmie of Odessa, Laverne Baxter and husband Benny of Odessa, and Patsy Roper and husband Eddie of Midland; 8 grandchildren, Cheryl McCrury, Jana Methven, Sherry Wester, Bryan Wester, Janie Whitfield, Marsha Sowell, and Amber and Aaron Roper; 3 great grandchildren, Avery and Channing McCrury, and Kelsey Whitfield; 2 brothers, O.E. Maddux Jr. and wife Nell of Midland, and Henry M. Maddux and wife Bernice of Weatherford; 1 sister, Emma Jean Moore and husband Harry Joe of Weatherford; a sister-in-law, Barbara Maddux of Pecos; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Roy ‘Mac’ McCaslin Jr.
ODESSA — Roy “Mac” McCaslin Jr., 78, of Bainbridge Drive, Odessa, Texas, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital. He was the retired president of Meither Machine.
He was born Dec. 28, 1924, in Rochelle, Ill., and graduated from Rochelle Township High School in 1942. During World War II, Mr. McCaslin served in the U.S. Navy in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters and was plank owner of the aircraft carrier USS Hancock.
After the war, he graduated from Bradley University in Peoria, Ill. with a BBA.
On Sept. 12, 1947, he married
Ramona Bogue, who was the love of his life since elementary school.
Mr. McCaslin was an executive with Borg Warren Corp. in Rockford, Ill., for more than 20 years. In 1976, he moved to Odessa, Texas, to become president of Meither Machine.
He was an avid golfer, who in June 2003 shot a life best game of 75 and had a handicap of nine.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Ramona Bogue McCaslin of Odessa; his sons, Scott McCaslin and wife Patricia of Dallas and Jeff E. McCaslin of Midland; grandchildren, Katy McKeon, Kelly Ann McCaslin, Victoria McCaslin and Matthew McCaslin; a great-grandson, Journey Scott McCaslin; brother, James McCaslin of Springfield, Ill.; and sisters, Mildred McCaslin, Edna Vandre, Lilly Justis and Rosemary Vankirk, all of Rochell, Ill., and Shirley Rainwater of Hot Spring, Ark.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at First Presbyterian Church in Odessa. Arrangements are by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to the Boy Scouts of America.
Woody Crow
STANTON — Woody Crow, 50, of Odessa, formerly of Stanton, a pumper for Schlumberger and Coastal Oil Companies, died Sunday, August 3, 2003, in Odessa.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at the Downtown Church of Christ in Stanton with Minister Deral McWhorter officiating. A second service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Scott Morris Funeral Home in Nocona with Dwayne McClure officiating. Burial will be at the Nocona cemetery. Arrangements are by Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton.
He was born in Nocona and moved to Odessa in 1997 from Stanton. He was a member of the Church Of Christ.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Woody W. Crow II of Stanton and Danny Clayton Crow of London; daughter, Cari Lee Walser of Odessa; mother, Gladys Crow of Stanton; brothers, Danny Crow of Tomball and Eddie Dale Crow of Big Spring; and one grandchild.
Grace McCullough
SEMINOLE — Grace McCullough, 84, of Seminole, died Monday, August 4, 2003, at Midland Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at First United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Gayle Perkins officiating. Burial will be at the Gaines County cemetery. Arrangements are by Boyer Funeral Home.
She was born in Keller and was a 79-year resident of Seminole. She was Presbyterian.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Buster McCullough of Seminole; sons, Buster F. McCullough of Midland, Wayland W. McCullough of Seminole and Jack A. McCullough of Odessa; daughters, Toni Grace Taylor of Houston and Brenda Danley of Midland; sisters, Coyet Miller of Seminole and Billie Mills of Amarillo; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

ODESSA — Jack G. Allbright, 79, of Odessa, former owner and operator of S.I.W. Pipe & Supply Co., died Thursday, July 31, 2003, at Parks Methodist Retirement Village.

He was born in Crockett and was a longtime resident of Odessa. He was an Army veteran. He was Methodist.

ANDREWS — Charles K. “Chock” Carruth, 67, of Andrews, owner and operator of Chock’s Oil Well Service, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at Midland Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Lubbock and moved to Andrews in 1948 from Denver City. He was Baptist.

MIDLAND — Frances Spears, 75,of Midland, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003.

STANTON - Stanley Wilton Baggett, 60, a carpenter, of Midland, died Friday, July 25, 2003, at his residence.

He was born in San Angelo and was a veteran of the Army.

IRAAN - Lillie E. Baker, 77 a housewife, of Iraan, died on Sunday, July 27, 2003, in the Shannon Medical Center Hospital in San Angelo.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Restland cemetery in Iraan with the Rev. Mike Wright officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
She was a resident of Iraan for 42 years and a Baptist.
