Mary Wilson
ODESSA — Mary Wilson, beloved mother, grandma, MeMa, MeMe and GiGi, entered into eternal rest and peace with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital.
Mary was born Aug. 21, 1928, in Lyons, Ga., to Heery and Beulah Collins. Mary has been a resident of Odessa since 1970.
Mary was a member of Temple Baptist Church for a number of years. She worked as a waitress at The Kettle for several years where she made many lasting friendships. Mary was a very loving and caring woman with many things to give at anytime. She was full of advice that her friends and family will always remember and share. Mary will always be in our thoughts as she watches over us.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, David E. Wilson; father, Heery Collins; mother, Beulah Sikes Collins; brother, Harry Collins; sister, Betty Rutledge; and grandson, Terence Martinez.
Mary is survived by her sister, Peaches Haines; brother, Junior Collins of Georgia; son, Don Shouse and wife Jenny of Ruidoso, N.M.; daughters, Peggy Martinez and husband Joe of Odessa and Mary Ann McMillian of San Angelo; nine grandchildren and spouses; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Tim, Tom, Tony and Tracey Martinez and Kevin and Jason Shouse.
Mary has touched so many lives in very special ways that she will never be forgotten. Her words of wisdom will be shared for many years to come by her friends and family. Mary enjoyed all the special moments that she shared with her friends and family throughout her life. We will love and miss you always, sweet dear mother, MeMa, MeMe and GiGi, but we know that you have found eternal peace and happiness with your Lord Jesus Christ. Your struggle with pain and sickness has come to an end. God bless you and keep you always.
Visitation with the family was from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Sunset Funeral Home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with the Rev. Kyle Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Agusala, Dr. Kodi and the 9 Central nursing staff.
Helen Jack ‘Peggy’ Wood
MIDLAND — Helen Jack “Peggy” Wood passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at her home in Midland.
Peggy was born Nov. 17, 1921, to Charles and Anna Keen in Graham, Texas, and was a descendant of the early settlers of Texas. She attended school in Olney, graduating from Olney High School in 1939. Peggy then went on to North Texas State Teachers College in Denton. After graduation, she taught school and was a librarian in Brownfield and Van Horn. Peggy eventually moved to Midland in 1949, and in 1950 started work at Humble Oil and Refining, which in time became Exxon. She worked for Exxon for 36 years, retiring July 31, 1986.
Peggy loved to needle point, crochet and work crossword puzzles. She was a long time member of Bellview Baptist Church.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Beatrice Sue Keen.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and DeLora Wood of Odessa, Texas; her daughter and son-in-law, Jo Anna and Mike Minter of Sanger, Texas; grandchildren, LaDonna Chism of Odessa, Charles Wood Jr. of Annandale, Va., and John Wood of Odessa; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, Trinidad and Devin Wood; and her sister Mildred Harrison of New Orleans.
Funeral Services will be held at 9 a.m. today at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Myron Unruh officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Sandra Nell Holifield
MIDLAND — Sandra Nell Holifield, beloved wife, precious mother and adored grandmother entered into eternal rest and peace with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 28, 2003, in Midland, Texas. Sandra was born September 16, 1939, in Smackover, Ark., to James J. Orr and Valree Smith Orr. The family relocated to Notrees, Texas, when Sandra was twelve years old and then moved to Odessa when she was sixteen. When Sandra was eighteen years old, she married
Steve Lemuel Holifield in McCamey, Texas. They moved to Crane six months after their marriage where they lived for thirty-six years before relocating to Midland.
Sandra was preceded in death by her dear son, James Jeffrey Holifield; mother, Valree Orr McCauley; father-in-law, Lemuel Holifield; mother-in-law, Pearl Holifield; and brother, James J. Orr Jr. She leaves behind to mourn her passing her husband of forty-five years, Steve Holifield; son, Steve Holifield Jr. and wife, Lisa, and four precious grandchildren, Landry, Lindsay, Laramie and Jake Holifield. Also surviving Sandra are her father, James J. Orr and wife, Mary; sister Jackie Newcom; brother, John William Orr and wife, Mary Louise; sister, Amy Buchanan; sister-in-law, Linda Orr; sister-in-law, Frances Busby; brother-in-law, Ridgely Holifield and wife, Barbara. Sandra also leaves behind her dear aunt, Helen Orr Thompson. She is survived by her nieces, Angie Ellis, Kacey Saladino, Tish Buchanan, Marquita May and Amy Sawyer, and nephews Michael and William Buchanan, Will and Lee Orr, Stewart Groves and Jason and Cameron Holifield. She also leaves behind several great-nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. She is the beloved godmother of Will Orr and has a special namesake, great-niece, Kassandra Elizabeth Ellis. Special cousins Sunny Albrecht and husband, Joel, Edward Smith and wife, Lucia Ann, Randy Johnson and wife, Donnelle, and Tommy Johnson and wife, Karen, also survive her.
Sandra will be remembered by so many in such special ways and with such fond memories it is impossible to list them all, but her roles as wife, mother and grandmother were always the most dear to her. She and husband Steve shared a love and bond for over forty-five years. Her sons Steve Jr. and Jeff shared a loving and caring relationship with their precious mother that was unique in many ways. To them, “Mama was the reason for all the good in their lives.” Sandra was lovingly and affectionately called “Nana” by her four grandchildren who were the lights of her life. Landry Allison was the first grandchild with whom Sandra shared a very special bond and relationship. Lindsay Jo Nell was her second “special girl” and then came twins Laramie and Jake who always kept Nana on her toes.
One of Sandra’s priorities in life was making wonderful and lasting memories for her family and those closest to her. Some of her most special times were spent with family and friends at the family ranch in Menard, Texas. All would agree that she was successful in making times spent with her lasting memories. We will love and miss you always sweet and dear Sandra but know that you have found eternal peace and happiness with your Lord Jesus Christ. Your struggle with pain and sickness has come to an end. God bless and keep you always.
Sandra was a member of First Baptist Church, Crane, Texas. While living in Crane, Sandra was a member of the Crane Garden Club and also the American Cancer Society. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi.
Pallbearers for Sandra are Stan Albrecht, Edward Smith, Ridgely Holifield, Phillip Ellis, Boyd “Hoppy” Murchison, Jose Mireles and Mike Eaton. Honorary pallbearers are her nephews: Jason and Cameron Holifield, Stuart Groves, Michael Buchanan, Will and Lee Orr.
Visitation is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2003, at Ellis Funeral Home, 801 Andrews Hwy., Midland, Texas. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, August 31, 2003, at Crestview Baptist Church, 3300 Thomas, Midland, Texas 79703, with Rabbi Ron Aaronson-Congregation Beth Messiah of Houston, Texas, officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
Ruby E. Weldon
ODESSA — Graveside services for Ruby E. Weldon, 88, of Odessa, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Curtis Brewer officiating. She passed away Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, at her residence.
Mrs. Weldon was born Jan. 4, 1915, in Izora, Texas, to her parents, Robert Lee and Mittie Popie Morgan Murphy. She married
John P. Weldon Oct. 31, 1942, in Decatur, Texas. He preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and had come to Odessa in Sept., 1945. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a division of the Shriners. She was Baptist.
She is survived by her nephews, Jack Manning of Odessa, Buren Hoffman of Llano, John Edward Miller Jr. of Indian Harbor Beach, Fla., and Lyndon Earl Miller of Evans, Ga.; and her nieces, Patricia Hoffman Roush of Las Vegas, Nev., Wilhamena Miller Potter of Westminister, Calif., Virginia Marie Miller of Los Angeles, Calif., Irma Lee Miller Stites of Moore Park, Calif., and Louella Young Duncan of Alexandria, Va.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Pruitt Murphy and James Murphy; and her sisters, Odelia Ada Miller, Iva Mae Hamilton, Victoria Lorena Young and Letha Ava Murphy Hoffman.

STANTON - L. D. 'Buster' Adams, 72, of Stanton, a former employee of the Coca Cola Bottling Company died on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, in a Midland hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003, at the First Baptist Church in Stanton with the Rev. David Harp, officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen cemetery in Stanton. Arrangements by Gilbreath Funeral Home.
He was born in Comanche and lived in Martin County since 1958. He was Baptist.

MIDLAND - Jose Carrillo, 73, of Midland, a former employee of General Rubber and Tire Company, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at a local hospital.
Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Jerome Burnett officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery. Arrangements by Pipkin Funeral Home.
He was born in La Esperanza, Chihuahua, Mexico, and moved to Midland in 1951.

ODESSA - Andrew Iaderosa, 83, of Odessa, a retired carpenter, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at Hospice House of Odessa.

He was born in Everett, Mass., and was an U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was Catholic.

She was born in Spearman and moved to Andrews in 1963 from Seminole. She was Christian.
