ODESSA — Elva Nadine Golden, 86, of Odessa, a retired clerk at Walgreen’s, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at Avalon Place.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Duckett officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Jay, Okla.
SURVIVORS: Sisters, Chrystal Fieldon of Prague, Okla., and Lodeema Arney of Marietta, Ga.

Encarnacion Perez Jr.
SEMINOLE — Encarnacion Perez Jr., 37, of Seminole, a farm laborer, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at Yoakum County Hospital.
Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. James Catholic Church of Seminole with the Rev. Reynaldo Reyes officiating. Arrangements are by Boyer Funeral Home.
He was born in Floydada. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Irma Perez of Seminole; daughters, Erika Perez and Monyka Perez, both of Seminole; brother, Alejandro Perez of Seminole; and sisters, Joanna Rodriguez and Mary Perez, both of Seminole.

Erlinda Zertuche
MIDLAND — Erlinda Macias Zertuche, 70, of Midland died Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at her residence.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Pipkin Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Pipkin Funeral Home.
She was born in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Alfredo S. Zertuche of Midland; sons, Jose A. “Bo” Zertuche, Jay Zertuche and Roland Zertuche, all of Midland; brother, Pedro Macias Sr. of Eagle Pass; sister, Delfina Gonzales of Eagle Pass; and six grandchildren.

Viviana Ramirez
ODESSA — Viviana Ramirez, 57, of Odessa died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at her residence.
Services are pending with Odessa Funeral Home.

Guadalupe Garcia
ANDREWS — Guadalupe Arenas Garcia, 84, of Andrews died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, at Home Hospice House in Odessa.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with Jose Perez officiating. Burial will be at the Andrews North cemetery. Arrangements are by McNett Funeral Home.
He was born in Charco and was a Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Arturo Mejia, Faustino Mejia and Jose Guitierrez, all of Andrews; daughters, Gregoria Bermea and Rosa Trevino, both of Andrews; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Virginia Garvin
GRANDFALLS — Virginia Garvin, 83, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, at Avalon Place in Odessa.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tamarisk cemetery in Grandfalls with Roy Smalling officiating. Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home of Monahans.
She was born in Imperial and was a Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Kay Armstrong of Odessa and Linda Carrol of Riverside, Calif.; sisters, Edith Williams of Crane and Lonora Hammonds of Riverside; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Weldon Wood
ODESSA — Weldon T. Wood, 62, of Odessa, regional manager for Bearing Supply Stores, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, at Hospice House.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Gorman and was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Sheri Wood of Lancaster, Penn.; mother, Doris Starr of Odessa; brothers, Garland Wood of St. Augustine, Darrell Wood and Keith Wood, both of Odessa; and sister, Janice Shelby of Lillian.

ODESSA — Gregorio M. Alcantar, 59, of Odessa died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at Home Hospice.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilberto Rodriguez officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
He was born in Manuel Benavides, Chihuahua, Mexico.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Herminia P. Alcantar of Odessa; son, David P. Alcantar of Odessa; daughters, Imelda A. Tarango and Christina P. Alcantar of Odessa; brothers, Eufemio M. Alcantar and Domingo M. Alcantar, both of Odessa, Jose M. Alcantar of Ojinaga, Mexico, Candelario M. Alcantar and Ricardo M. Alcantar, both of Presidio; sisters, Guadelupe A. Natividad, Maria A. Padilla and Genoveva A. Levario of Ojinaga, Mexico; and five grandchildren.

SEMINOLE — Thomas Forrest “Bud” Casey, 75, of Seminole, a 22-year employee of Bonner-Hoffman Well Service, died Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at his residence.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Community Chapel in Seminole with the Rev. Bruce Cotton officiating. A second service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Lockney. Graveside services will be at the Lockney cemetery. Arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole.
He was born in Floyd County and was a 22-year resident of Seminole. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
SURVIVORS: Son, Ronald Casey of Lockney; brother, Doyle Casey of Washburn; and sister, Jean Johnson of Dalores, Colo.

ODESSA — Claude L. Eagle, 86, of Lucedale, Miss., and formerly of Odessa, a retired master mechanic, died Monday, June 2, 2003, in Lucedale.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Kansas.
SURVIVORS: Two step grandchildren.

ODESSA — Jimmie Otto Mahler Sr., 78, of Odessa died Monday, June 2, 2003, at his residence.
Services are will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Bishop officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
He was born in Windthorst and moved to Odessa from Archer City. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Mildred Mahler of Odessa; son, Jimmie Otto Mahler Jr. of Odessa; stepson, Fred Haney of Odessa; stepdaughters, Judy Turner, Lois Hankins and Roberta Lang, all of Odessa, and Mary Lou Haney of California; brothers, Kenneth Mahler and Baldi Mahler, both of Wichita Falls; and six grandchildren.

ODESSA — Elena Ontiveros, 40, of Odessa, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at Midland Memorial Hospital.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Francis Frey officiating. Cremation to follow. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home.
She was born in Big Spring. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Miguel Ontiveros of Odessa; son, Erasmo “Tito” Apodaca of Odessa; father, Rosale Hernandez of Odessa; brothers, Arturo Hernandez and Robert Hernandez and Carlos Hernandez, all of Odessa, Francisco Hernandez of Oceanside, Calif.; sisters, Catherine Alvarez, Victoria Sanchez, Cristina Mancha, Yolanda Garcia and Diana Chavez, all of Odessa.

KERMIT — Manuela V. Briones, 81, of Monahans, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at Odessa Regional Hospital.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Family Services Funeral Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kermit. Burial will be at Kermit cemetery. Arrangements are by Family Services Funeral Parlor.
She was born in Carlsbad, N.M.
