Edna Bond Pyle
ODESSA — Heaven received a most precious angel Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003. Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend was called to heaven to end her pain and suffering from her daughter’s home.
Edna Pyle left her home in Arkansas to work as a riveter during World War II. After the war, she met and married
Walter Bond in 1945. They brought six children into the world and proceeded to love and raise them.
After Walter’s death in 1967, she married
Clyde Pyle and joined their families with love and patience. As of today, she has 10 children, 34 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Most of these she left behind, some of them she joins in heaven.
A member of Kingston Avenue Baptist Church for over 30 years, she taught a Sunday School class for most of that. She sang with the choir, always believing in praise through song. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and at Odessa Regional Hospital for many years. Always generous with her time and love, her lap in the rocking chair was a welcome spot for all children. She believed the best way to get through life was with love and laughter, and always had an available smile. She will be loved and missed until we join her some day.
Edna’s family will be celebrating her life and receiving visitors at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors, Oakwood and JBS Parkway, from 7 to 9 p.m. August 13, 2003, and welcomes all visitors.
