Exie Lee Henry
AUSTIN — Exie Lee Henry, 83, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, from complications of Alzheimer’s.
She was born February 3, 1920, in Dekalb, Texas. She was the youngest of five children born to Oscar Frank and Della Houston. A daughter, Brenda Lee, parents, two sisters and one brother predeceased her.
She is survived by her husband, of almost 63 years, Derrell; son, Ronnie Derrell Henry Sr. and his wife, Carolyn, of Austin; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Hesta Powell of Lubbock, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Henry was a native Texan, born in Dekalb. She and her family lived in Cottle County and in 1933 moved to Crosby County. She graduated from Ralls High School in 1939 and started work in Lubbock, Texas, in the summer of 1939. She married
Derrell Henry on October 12, 1940, in Lubbock. Derrell was transferred to Post, Texas, in 1941 and to Tahoka in 1942. In October 1942, Mrs. Henry returned to Lubbock while her husband was in military service. Following his discharge, they moved to Memphis, Texas, in March 1946 and later to Crosbyton and Lubbock.
In April 1950, they moved to Amarillo, Texas where Derrell joined the American National Bank. In 1960 they moved to Odessa where he became Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the American Bank of Commerce. In 1967, they built a second home in Lakeway and officially moved to Lakeway following Derrell’s retirement in 1984.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family and traveled at Derrell’s side throughout his business career.
She was a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin and Lakeway Church in Lakeway.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 18 at Lakeway Church, 2203 Lakeway Blvd. Burial will follow at Forest Oaks Memorial Park.

Florine Hattie Hensley
ODESSA — Florine Hattie Hensley, beloved wife and mother, died at home surrounded by her family and left this life to live with Jesus on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003. She was born on October 18, 1910, in Bethel, Texas, the daughter of John Hamilton and Mae Elizabeth Hayes.
She graduated from Rankin High School in 1929, and was married
on May 18, 1929, to Walter Winfield Hensley, who preceded her in death on November 30, 1972. She moved with her husband to Iraan, Texas, upon the discovery of the Yates Oil Field where she and her husband resided until 1972. She taught piano and helped her husband run the Texas Theater which they owned while they resided in Iraan. She was active in the Mildred Parker Garden Club and played the piano for the First Christian Church in which she was a member while they resided in Iraan.
Upon retirement she became a real estate agent and worked in Kingsland, Texas, before moving to Odessa in 1975, where she was active as a member of the Swinging Rhythmettes Band and the Antioch Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father and husband. She is survived by one daughter, Jo Anna Pope and husband, Robert, of Marble Falls; one son, Malcolm K. Hensley and wife, Linda, of Odessa; three sisters, Dorothy Lowe of Sterling City, Mary Wunderl of San Angelo and Pat Franklin of Odessa; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Antioch Christian Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, with Don Fankhauser officiating. Burial will be on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 10 a.m. at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park near Kingsland, Texas. Family visitation will be on Tuesday September 16, 2003, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Alan and Tim Pope, and grandsons-in-law, Tony Ruiz, Shane Marler and Steve Bunch.
Services are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Ruth Rodgers
ODESSA — Ruth Rodgers died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003. Ruth was born July 30, 1910, in Bogata, Texas, to Virgil and Myrtle Tyer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Jack Rodgers, one brother, and three sisters.
Ruth lived in Odessa for many years where she was a teacher and school counselor while her husband was a teacher, principal and president of Odessa College. Their retirement home was in Alamogordo, N.M. After Dr. Rodger’s death, Ruth moved to Austin and then in 1996 to Kerrville.
Surviving is one brother, Jack Tyer of Ralls, Texas. Other survivors include nephews, Ed Moses of Kerrville, Texas, Travis Tyer of Quincy, Ill., Garl Tyer of Tampa, Fla.; and nieces, Bettye Robinett of Amarillo, Texas, Mary Fry of El Paso, Texas, Frances Symank of Rockport, Texas, Kathryn Sullivan of Stigler, Okla.; and 16 great-nephews and great-nieces.
Graveside services will be in October in the Rosalie cemetery, Red River County, Texas.

Joyce Winn
CRANE — Joyce Winn, 74, of Crane, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003, in the Sharp-Coronado Hospital in Coronado, Calif.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003, at the First Baptist Church in Crane with Channing Crisler and Reverend Steve Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Crane County cemetery. Arrangements are with Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
Mrs. Winn was born on August 13, 1929, in Seymour, Texas. She had been a resident of Crane for 35 years. She married
E.T. Theron Winn on January 8, 1947 in Vernon, Texas. He preceded her in death on September 30, 2001.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by: son, Ronnie Winn and his wife, Kama, of Crane; daughter, Barbara Webb and her husband, Richard, of Lubbock; four grandchildren, Kimberly Crisler of Lubbock, Channing Crisler and his wife, Kelley, of Fort Worth, Brandon Winn of College Station, Matthew Winn of Crane; two great-grandchildren, Silas Crisler and Taylee Crisler, both of Fort Worth, one sister, Virginia Klingenburg of Buffalo, Okla.; two brothers, Joe Davis and his wife, Jill, of Seymour, Texas, and Bob Davis and his wife, Barbara, of Granbury, Texas; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joy and Charles Neithercutt of Houston; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wayne Winn and his wife, Linda, of Seymour, Texas; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Arnold Winn and wife, Senna, of Red Springs; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Clarence Winn and wife Barbara, of Decatur; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Pete Winn, Clarence Wayne Winn, Kurt Winn, Sid Winn, Lan Winn, Tommy Winn, Lan Davis and Bret Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Tookie Preslar, Doyle Rogers and Norman Wagner.
Irene Dominguez
ODESSA — Irene Moreno Dominguez, 81, of Odessa died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Iglesia Del Nazareno with the Rev. Raymond Martinez officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.
She was born in Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Ester Rodriguez, Bertha Ramos, Delma Avila and Lydia Pearce, all of Odessa; sons, Hilario Dominguez of Midland and Crespin Dominguez Jr. of Odessa; brother, Enrique Moreno of Bigfoot; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Mary Harper
MARFA — Mary Lee Harper, 92, of Marfa, a retired teacher, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, at Big Bend Regional Medical Center in Alpine.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Daniel Armstrong officiating. Burial will be at Marfa cemetery. Arrangements are by Memorial Funeral Home.
She was born in Laredo and moved to Marfa in 1914. She was Methodist.
Bobby Lara Jr.
Bobby Lara Jr., 19, of Odessa died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003 in Midland. Rosaries will be said at 7 p.m. Friday at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Francis Frey officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements are by Odessa Funeral Home.
He was born in Odessa. He worked in the oilfield industry and was a Catholic.

Marjorie Wilson
PECOS — Marjorie Wilson, 67, of Pecos, a homemaker, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, at Midland Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today at Fairview cemetery with J. M. McCormick officiating. Arrangements are by Pecos Funeral Home.
She was born in Little Rock, Ark., and was a longtime resident of Pecos.
SURVIVORS: Son, Jimmy Gobert of Pecos; daughter, Susan Swinney of Fort Stockton; brother, James Gober of Moscow Hills, Mo.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Dean Constable
MIDLAND — Dean Constable, 61, of Midland died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, at his residence.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Alamo Baptist Church. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home of Midland.
He was born in Santa Anna and served in the U.S. Air Force from Aug. 8, 1960, until Aug. 24, 1964.

Sylvester Dancer Sr.
ODESSA — Sylvester “Syl” Dancer Sr., 82, of Odessa, a retired employee of B.J. Titon, formerly Cardinal Chemical, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, at the Hospice House.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Park Memorial Church of God in Christ with Rev. J.D. Parks officiating. Military graveside services will be at the Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Groesbeck and was a member of the Parks Memorial Church of God in Christ. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

James Fine
JAL, N.M. — James W. Fine, 81, of Jal died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, in Hobbs.
Services will be at 10 a.m. (MDT) Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church in Jal with the Rev. Alen Speed officiating. Burial will be at Jal cemetery. Arrangements are by Calvary Funeral Home.
He was born in Comanche County and moved to Jal in 1961 from Roscoe County, Texas. He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving overseas for almost four years on the U.S.S. Cofer in the Pacific Ocean.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Mildred Fine of Jal; sons, Michael Wayne Fine of Odessa and Keith Alan Fine of Flora Vista; daughter, Paula Gay Ferguson of Jal; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
