Elfida Dominguez Marin
ODESSA Elfida Dominguez Marin, 84, of Odessa, a homemaker, passed away on Oct. 30, 2003, in Independence, Mo.
She was born on April 10, 1919, in Marfa, Texas, to Eduardo and Lupe Dominguez. She married
Charlie Marin in 1936 in Fort Davis. They were married
for 58 years. They moved to Odessa in 1954.
A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with Father Mark Woodruff officiating. Interment will at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Marin II; and her son, Charlie Raul Marin; and daughter, Leonor Marin.
She is survived by her sons, Raul Marin and wife Rose of Odessa, Charlie Marin III of Las Vegas, Nev., Raymond Marin and wife Delores of Midland, Robert Marin and wife Amalia of Odessa, Ernest Marin of Odessa, Johnny Marin of Odessa and Lewis Marin and wife Anna of Odessa; daughters, Hortencia Marin Tacker of Independence, Mo., Lorina Marin of Independence, Mo., Rosa Marin Tijerina and husband Herman of Mesa, Ariz., Mary Marin Brown of Fort Worth, Betty Marin Ortiz and husband Lorenzo of Houston, Virginia Marin Morton and husband Earl of Maysville, Okla., and Gloria Marin Bernard and husband John of Independence, Mo.; 41 grandchildren, and 58 great-grandchildren.

Rhiannyn Aubree Rhodes
ODESSA Rhiannyn Aubree Rhodes, infant, passed away Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, at Odessa Regional Hospital.
She was born Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, to Aaron and Teresa Rhodes in Odessa.
Our little angel was called home to be with Jesus. He needed her in Heaven to rest in His Loving Arms. Jesus said in Luke 18:16, Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
We thank God for blessing us with the opportunity to meet Rhiannyn Aubree. The time was short but the memory will last a lifetime. We are so thankful we got to hold her in our arms, hold her hand, kiss her and say our goodbyes. Now we know Jesus has her in His arms and we praise His name for all He does.
We love you, Princess, and will see you soon. Love, Mommy, Daddy, Landyn and Warner.
Survivors include her parents, Aaron and Teresa Rhodes; brothers, Landyn and Warner Rhodes, all of Odessa; grandparents, Barbara and Tony Sternberger of Farmington, N.M., Don and Kara Jennings of Houston, and Cathy and Donald Rutledge of Odessa; Great-grandparents, Gaylon and Zelda Townsend of Odessa and Linda Jennings of Dallas.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. John Taylor and Rusty Frazier officiating.

Bill Whitfield
ODESSA Bill Whitfield, 75, of Odessa, a longtime educator and musician, passed away Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at Hospice House.
He was born on Aug. 30, 1928, in Howe, Texas, to Hiram Thomas and Clare Mae Whitfield.
Bill graduated from West Texas State University. He served as a teacher, choir director and principal in the Monahans School District and as an education consultant at the Region 18 Service Center. He also served as a choir director in the Monahans and Odessa Highland Methodist Churches. Bill was a gifted pianist who delighted many while playing at nursing homes, receptions and other events.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. today at Highland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Scott and the Rev. David Weyant officiating.
He is survived by his wife Georgia Whitfield of Odessa; sons, Richard Whitfield and wife Melissa of Austin, and Ward Whitfield and wife Karla of Knoxville, Tenn.; daughter, Carole Troha and husband Joe of Many, La.; and grandchildren Jason, Megan and Colin Troha and Daniel Whitfiled.
The family requests memorials be made to Highland Methodist Church or to the Hospice Foundation.

FORT STOCKTON Edward Franklin Havins, Sr., 75, of Fort Stockton, a retail businessman, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, in Alpine.

He was born in Rotan and was in the U.S. Navy for 10 years and served during the Korean War.

ODESSA William Black, 89, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, at his residence.

CORPUS CHRISTI Donna Lee Summers Lang, born April 26, 1936 in Junction, Texas, died Saturday at her home in Corpus Christi, Texas.
In 1969 J. C. and Donna left Odessa, Texas, where they had started their family, for a 20-year stay in Anchorage, Alaska.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, J.C. Lang; her son, PFC Mickey Daniel Lang of the U.S. Army; her parents, Tommy Summers and Billie Barnett; her stepfather, Dale Barnett; her three siblings, Barbara Lewis, Sandra Self and Tommy Summers; and a nephew, Frank Lagrone.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Butch Lang Priestley of Corpus Christi; one granddaughter, Larissa Lang of Corpus Christi; Bill Lagrone, Ralph Lagrone and family, Nicole Jennings, Jason Jennings and sons all of Odessa and Jerry Mullins of California.
Funeral services will be conducted at 5 p.m. Tuesday in Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel in Corpus Christi.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Texas. Burial will follow.

TYLER Elizabeth Ann Sally Davenport, 74, of Tyler, a retired business owner, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.

She was born in Wichita County. She was a former resident of Odessa. She was a 36-year resident of Tyler.
