Forrest Johnson
ANDREWS —Forrest D. Johnson, 76, of Andrews, a retired employee of El Paso Natural Gas, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, in Andrews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Andrews Church of Christ with Minister Mark Wilson officiating. Burial will be at the Andrews West cemetery. Arrangements are by McNett Funeral Home.
He was born in Jones County. He served in the Navy. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
SURVIVORS: Son, Fred Johnson of Andrews; daughters, Doris Johnson and Brenda Morris, both of Andrews; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Alex Luna Sr.
MARFA — Alex Luna Sr., 60, of Marfa, a 39-year employee of ABC Pump, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, at his residence.
Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. today at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at Merced cemetery. Arrangements are by Memorial Funeral Home.
He was born in Marathon. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Joe Alex Luna of Odessa and Jamie Lee Luna of Marfa; brothers, Alfonso Luna of Carlsbad, N.M., and Luis Renteria of El Paso; sisters, Irene Vigil of Fredicksburg, Va., Ana Maria Vigil of El Paso and Patsy Briceno of Crane; and four grandchildren.

James Marshall
KERMIT — James Allen “Jay” Marshall, 38, of Midland, a telemarketer, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, in Odessa.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Family Service Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Kermit cemetery. Arrangements are by Family Services Funeral Parlor.
He was born in Richland Hills.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Misty Marshall of Moore, Okla., and Justine Marshall of Kermit; father, Ernie Marshall of Sweetwater and Ann Cook of Midland; sisters, Vickie Fanning of Midland and Tamera Althof of Tucson, Ariz.; and brothers, Philip Nickels of Omaha, Neb., Earnie Olin of Sherman and Stephen Douglas Paternastra of Albuquerque, N.M.

David Farmer
BRADY - David Jack Farmer, 86, of Brady and formerly of Odessa, a welding supply salesman, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003, in Brady.
Graveside services were at 3 p.m. Monday at Rochelle cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth Barr officiating. Arrangements were by Heritage Funeral Homes.
He was born in Bowie. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Dahlia Belle Farmer of Brady; daughter, Sharron Ann Farmer Bishop of Brady; son, Coleman Farmer of Moran; sister, 'Dora' Faye Givens of Franklin, Ga.; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mona Gill
ALPINE - Mona Ruth 'Joy' Gill, 92, of Alpine died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003, at her residence.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today at St. James Episcopal Church. Arrangements are by Geeslin Funeral Home.
She was born in Twin
Falls, Idaho, and has lived
in Alpine for 23 years. She
was Episcopalian.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Jeri Eaton of New Windsor, Md.; and one grandchild.

Bobby Ramsey
ODESSA - Bobby Sue Ramsey, 77, of Odessa, a retired bus driver for Ector County Independent School District, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2003, at her residence.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Right officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
She was born in Pine, Okla.
SURVIVORS: Son, Kenneth DeWayne Ramsey of Odessa; daughters, Nancy Sue Ella Gilmer of Odessa and Debbie Kaye Blackmon of Carl Junction, Mo.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Sianna Villegas
CRANE - Sianna Mylene Villegas, infant daughter of Adrian Villegas and Elsa Aguilar of Midland, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2003, at her residence.
Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church with the Rev. Nilo Nalugon officiating. Arrangements are by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
SURVIVORS: Parents; sister, Celestina Villegas of Midland; brother, Ivan Villegas of Midland; and grandparents, Eliseo and Vicky Aguilar of Crane and John and Gloria Villegas of Crane.

Sally Donk
ODESSA — Sally Donk, 70, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003, at her residence. She was born Nov. 3, 1932, in Comanche, Texas, to Wesley and Suzanne Sledge. She married Roger Donk on Nov. 22, 1972.
Sally was president of the Crystal Ball in 1979 and a lifelong tennis enthusiast.
She is survived by her husband, Roger Donk of Odessa; sons, Doug Donk and wife, Jennifer, of Fort Worth and Brian Donk and wife, Kristine, of Austin; brothers, Gene Sledge of Midland, Bob Sledge and Jake Sledge, both of Comanche; and two grandchildren, Nikole and Taylor Donk of Fort Worth.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Mindel officiating.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Charity of your choice.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

James Thomas Ulan
ANDREWS — Funeral services for James Thomas Ulan, 77, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, at the First Baptist Church in Andrews with Dr. Jeff Donnell, Pastor, and Rev. Jimmy Braswell, Chaplain of Home Hospice, officiating. Burial will be in the Andrews Old cemetery.
James died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003, at Home Hospice House in Odessa following a lengthy illness.
He was born June 16, 1926, in Sulphur, La., to Michael and Vivian Ulan. He married Vera Smith on February 15, 1947 in Beaumont, Texas. The couple moved to Andrews in 1959, where Mr. Ulan worked for Exxon, retiring after 35 years with the company in 1986 as a field superintendent. He enjoyed retirement and traveling. The couple moved to Tyler after retirement then later to El Paso and had lived in Midland for four years.
Survivors include his wife, Vera of Midland; son, Michael Ulan of Waco; two daughters, Deborah Ulan Martin and her husband, Archie, and Karen Ulan Thomas and her husband, James, both of Andrews; one sister, Lil Allen of Henderson, Texas; six grandchildren, including Robin Martin Harper of Andrews, Shanon Martin Jefcoats of Canyon and formerly of Andrews, Jarod Thomas of Lubbock and Tres Thomas of Midland; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers include Brian Jefcoats, Jason Harper, Tres Thomas, Jarod Thomas, Larry Ragland and Max Mainord.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Home Hospice House, 903 North Sam Houston, Odessa, Texas 79761.
Services are under the direction of McNett Funeral Home in Andrews.

Monica E. Williams
ODESSA — Monica Elizabeth Williams, 49, of Odessa died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003, at home. Monica was born in Rockville Center, N.Y., on Feb. 10, 1954, to Warren J. Koch and Rose Marie Koch (nee Dauscher). Monica married Terry Williams of Odessa, son of Bill and Lorene Williams, in Odessa on Aug. 16, 1985.
Monica was the sixth child of Warren and Rose Koch, a family of ten children, five brothers and five sisters. The family was raised on Long Island, N.Y., and summers in Lake Winnisquam, N.H. Monica was educated at St. Kilian grammar school, Queen of the Rosary Academy, and received a B.A. in English and Education from Ladycliff College in Highland Falls, N.Y. Upon graduation, Monica was recruited to teach elementary school in Texas.
In 1976, Monica moved to Texas and devoted the rest of her working years to teaching children in El Paso and Odessa. Monica taught at Reagan, Hays, Noel and LBJ elementary schools. She was considered by her co-workers to be one of the finest and most dedicated educators of first and second grade children in the Odessa area. Cindy Abel Brunson, a fellow teacher at Hays, recently described Monica’s incredible work ethic, kindness, sense of humor and love for children, which made her students eager to come to school and learn. She said, “Monica created a little home in her classroom complete with yellow gingham curtains, pictures, pillows and class decorations that gave some children, who didn’t have the ideal home situation, their first taste of a warm, loving home-like atmosphere.”
Monica’s whole life centered on giving to others, making them happy and laugh. She was devoted to her family, especially to her husband, Terry, and her stepson, Warren, and cherished her marriage above all else. She was in constant touch with her large Koch family scattered through the U.S., and was instrumental in organizing family reunions to bring them together. The most recent was in Ruidoso, N.M.
Monica enjoyed cooking and sharing her recipes with friends and family. She was a talented home decorator and a competitive Scrabble player. But fishing with her husband, Terry, was her favorite hobby, because she was with him and he loved it so much.
Monica and Terry are members of the Grace Christian Church. She had a strong faith that she openly proclaimed, and offered that faith and support to others in need.
She was preceded in death by her father, Warren Koch on June 18, 2001, and by her father-in-law, Bill Williams, on April 7, 1999.
Monica is survived by her Williams family, husband Terry Williams of Odessa; stepson, Warren Williams of Odessa and his wife, Ashley, son, Payton, and daughter, Lauren; mother-in-law, Lorene Williams; sister-in-law, Sandy Stein of Carrollton, Texas, and her children, Staci and Chris; sister-in-law, Billy Haughey of Double Oak, Texas, and husband, Kevin; and a large extended Williams family in Odessa, throughout Texas, and the Southwest.
She is survived by her Koch family, mother, Rose Koch of Hudson, Fla., and Lake Winnisquam, N.H.; brother, Warren Koch Jr. of Stamford, Conn., and wife, Clair, his children, Leo, Joan and Thomas, and grandchildren; sister, Bernadette Casey of Colorado Springs, Colo., and husband, Mike, her daughters, Kristina Ikeda and Carol Spear, and granddaughter, Mikaela; sister, Rosemary Dobiac of Sterling, Va., and husband, John, her children, Tim and Cindy, and grandson, Colby; sister, Teresa Koch-Bostic of Mineola, N.Y., and husband, Dave Bostic; brother, Gerald Thomas Koch of Raleigh, N.C.; sister, Rita Noble of Eugene, Ore., and husband, Steve, her daughters, Keara and Bridget Duggan; brother, Philip Koch of Commack, N.Y., and wife, Nancy Scavin; brother, Joseph Koch of Dayton, Ohio, and wife, Stephanie, his children Alex and Rachel; brother, Paul Koch and wife, Vickie, and his children, Tori, Paul, and Gabriella.
She is also survived by a large extended Koch and Dauscher families including 18 aunts and uncles, 70 first cousins and over 150 second cousins, most of whom reside in New York or on the East Coast.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, at Hubbard-Kelly in Odessa. Services are to be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Odessa, 824 E. 18th Street (west of Dixie).

Maria Hernandez
ANDREWS — Maria Hernandez, 62, of Andrews, a homemaker, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2003, in Odessa.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Filadelfia Assembly of God Church with the Revs. Samuel Emiliano and Teodulo Garcia officiating. Burial will be at the Andrews North cemetery. Arrangements are by McNett Funeral Home.
She was born in Miguel Auza, Zacatecos, and had lived in Andrews for 25 years. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Angel Hernandez of Andrews; daughters, Gregoria Hernandez of La Joya, Rosa E. Hernandez of Andrews, Maria A. Hubert of Pecos and Isabel C. Hernandez of Mexico; son, Angel Saul Hernandez of Tucson, Ariz; parents, Martin and Simona Garcia of Hidalgo; brothers, Teodulo Garcia, Valentin Garcia and Isidro Garcia, all of Andrews, Jose E. Garcia and Juan Garcia, both of Mexico, and Efrain Garcia of Hidalgo; sisters, Maria Garcia and Manuela Aguirre, both of Andrews, and Maria del Socorro Garcia of Weslaco; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
