BROWNWOOD — Randy Baker, 44, of Brownwood, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at his residence.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Netherton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wright Price officiating. Burial was at Greenleaf cemetery. Arrangements were by Netherton Funeral Home of Brownwood.
He was born in Ector County and had lived in Brownwood since 1982 and had formerly lived in Odessa.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Judy Baker of Brownwood; sons, Cody Baker and Corey Baker, both of Brownwood; stepson, Jason Roman of Brownwood; daughter, Casey Baker of Brownwood; stepdaughter, Bridgett Roman of Brownwood; parents, Dan and Elaine Dandrige of Odessa; brothers, James Dandrige of Farris, Brian Dandrige of Denver and Steve Dandrige of Odessa; and two grandchildren.
Larry Briscoe
ODESSA — Larry Joe Briscoe, 55, of Odessa died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at the Methodist Hospital in Houston.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. today at Rose Hill cemetery. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Steve Deines officiating. Arrangements are by Odessa Funeral Home.
He was born in Forney and was Presbyterian.

Opal Clinkinbeard
SNYDER — Opal V. Clinkinbeard, 100, of Snyder, a former cook at The Plaza Restaurant and a rancher, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at her residence.
Services were held Friday at Wright Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at Ira cemetery. Arrangements were by Wright Colonial Funeral Home of Snyder.
She was born Oct. 3, 1902, in Okemah, Okla.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Margaret Fowler of Odessa and Dolly Tatom of Snyder; sons, Earl Clinkinbeard and Bob Clinkinbeard, both of Snyder, and Raymond Clinkinbeard of Plainview; numerous grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Claudia Elam-Burnett
FORT STOCKTON — Claudia A. Elam-Burnett, 57, of Odessa, a dog breeder, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, in Odessa.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at East Hill cemetery. Arrangements are by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
She was born in El Paso and came to Odessa 35 years ago. She was a Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Cathy Caskey and Brandi Halbaedier, both of Odessa; sons, Jamie Halbaedier of Conroe and Derick Halbaedier of Odessa; mother, Anna Elam of Fort Stockton; sister, Sandra Clay of Dunn; and six grandchildren.
John Epperson Jr.
ODESSA — John Wesley “J.W.” Epperson Jr., 83, of Odessa, a retired employee of the Ector County Independent School District, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, at Hospice House.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Wesley Evangelical Methodist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Newton officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrange-ments are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Pangburn, Ark., and served in the Army Air Corp during World War II, with the B29 bomber group on Tinian Island. He was a Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Ellen Epperson of Odessa; sons, Jerry Epperson and Kenneth Epperson, both of San Angelo; stepson, Harold Medlin of Dallas; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

SEMINOLE — Ova Leta Jones, 79, of Seminole, a retired Gaines County Sheriff’s Department radio dispatcher, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, at Seminole Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Gaines County cemetery with Glen Cavitt and Ronnie Aten officiating. Arrangements are by Ratliff Funeral Home.
She was born in Horseshoe Bend and a Baptist.

He was born in Sanger.

ALPINE — Karen Kay Lewis, 57, a West Texas National Bank of Alpine employee, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, at her residence.

She was born in Harlan, Iowa, and had lived in Alpine for 27 years. She was a Catholic.

BRECKENRIDGE — Susie Ray Miller, 96, of Breckenridge, owner and operator of Belvania, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, at Villa Haven Nursing Home.

She was born in Mount Pleasant and moved to Breckenridge from Odessa. She had owned and operated Treasure Trove, a home interior business, in Odessa. She is a Baptist.

Florentino Lopez Olgin
GROVER BEACH, Calif. — Florentino “Tino” Lopez Olgin, 65, of Grover Beach, formerly of Monahans, Texas, a machine operator for Columbia Records, died Sunday Sept. 28, 2003, after a brief illness.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. at today Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Grover Beach. Arrangements are by Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel of Grover Beach.
He was born in Barstow, Texas, and a Jehovah’s Witness.

ODESSA — Alvin Ray Woodard Sr., 44, of Odessa, a retired electrician, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, at Greater Saint John Baptist Church with the Rev. E. J. Miller officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.
He was born in Odessa and was a lifelong resident of Odessa.

Gil Brown
KERRVILLE — Mr. Gil Brown, 72, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003, in a Kerrville hospital. Mr. Brown, a resident of Kerrville for four years and a prior resident of San Angelo for six years and Odessa for twenty-five years, was born on Aug. 26, 1931, in Enid, Okla., to Albert Brown and Mabel Bullock Brown.
Gil served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married
Beverly Snell on Aug. 30, 1958, in Midland, Texas. After twenty years of banking, he retired as Vice-President. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kerrville.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Beverly Brown of Kerrville; daughter, Tricia Hamil and husband, Jarrod, of Kerrville; two grandchildren, Zachary and Andrew Hamil of Kerrville; son, Kyle Brown of Odessa; sister, Carolyn Carpenter of Fort Stockton; brother, Stanley Brown of Houston; sister-in-law, Pat Martin of Odessa; nephews, Rex Martin, Steve Carpenter, Jay Brown and John Brown; nieces, Kay Campbell, Linda Stoner, Sharon Stickler and Deborah Crouch. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Brown.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, 2003, at Garden of Memories cemetery with Rev. Ron Sutto officiating.
