Nita Vannoy
MENARD — Nita Vannoy, 61, of Fort McKavett and formerly of Odessa, a retired teacher and coach, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003.
Services were held Sept. 26 at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Suzanne Brantly officiating. Graveside services were at 5 p.m. at Montvale cemetery in Sterling City. Arrangements were by Johnson’s Funeral Home of San Angleo.
She was born in San Angelo.
SURVIVORS: Children, Christy Lacy of California, Stacy Lacy of Granbury and Colby Lacy of Water Valley; sister, Sally Lacy of Water Valley; a stepmother; a stepbrother; a stepsister; and a stepson.

Frank Williams
PECOS — Frank Williams, 79, of Pecos, a retired mechanic, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, at Reeves County Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Terry officiating. Burial will be at Mount Evergreen cemetery. Arrangements are by Pecos Funeral Home.
He was born in Wharton. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Lillian Williams of Pecos; sons, Lawrence “Bubba” Williams and Frank Williams, both of Pecos, Kenneth Lee Williams of San Antonio and Terry Williams of Houston; daughters, Janice Adell Williams of San Antonio and Wilene Williams of Carson City; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Charles Waters
ODESSA — Charles Grady Waters, 82, of Odessa, a retired supervisor at the Shell Refinery, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, at his residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Vine Baptist Church with the Rev. J.Y. Durham officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
He was born in Houston and was an U.S. Army Air Force veteran. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Son, David Waters of Odessa; daughters, Dottie Creech of Irving, Jeannie Hight and Debbie Imler both of Odessa; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Maria Cabezuela
PRESIDIO — Maria Muniz Cabezuela, 67, of Presidio, a homemaker, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, in an Odessa hospital.
Mass was celebrated Tuesday at Santa Teresa Catholic Church with the Rev. Lazaro Gonzales Trejo officiating. Burial was at Desert Hills cemetery. Arrangements were by Memorial Funeral Home of Marfa.
She was born in San Antonio and was a 47-year resident of Presidio. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Jose Cabezuela of Presidio; daughters, Alicia Cabezuela of Chihuahua, Mexico, and Jessie Baeza of Fort Worth; sons, Jose Luis Cabezuela of Van Horn, Manuel Cabezuela of Kermit, Raul Cabezuela of Odessa and Juan Roberto Cabezuela of Presidio; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

James McCane
ANDREWS — James McCane, 31, of Andrews died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, in Andrews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Andrews Funeral Home with the Rev. Harvey Enrique officiating. Burial will be at the Andrews North cemetery. Arrangements are by Andrews Funeral Home.
He was born in Fort Wayne, Ind.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Anita McCane of Andrews; son, Jonathan McCane of Andrews; daughter, Daisy McCane of Andrews; father, Ed McCane of Andrews; brothers, Eddie McCane of Midland and Tom McCane; sisters, Teresa Trevino and Vicky Pemberton, both of Andrews, and Wendy McCane of Deer Park.

Floyd Salmon
PANTEGO — Floyd D. Salmon, 89, of Pantego died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, in Fort Worth.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Moore Funeral Home of Arlington.
He was born in Comanche County and was an 11-year resident of Pantego. He was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Jimmie Salmon of Pantego; daughter, daughter, Barbara Wimpee of Pantego; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Charlie Tate
MONAHANS — Charlie Tate, 80, of Monahans died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at his residence.
Services are pending with Heritage Funeral Home.

Francisco R. Barriga
BERNALILLO, N.M. — Francisco “Chico” R. Barriga, age 86, of Meadow Lake, N.M., formerly of Presidio and McCamey, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003.
Rosary will be said at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Alameda Mortuary Chapel in Albuquerque, N.M. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo. Burial will be at Santa Fe National cemetery in Santa Fe. Arrangements are by Alameda Mortuary of Albuquerque.
He was born in Marfa. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Socorro Barriga of Meadow Lake; sons, Frank “Chito” Barriga Jr., Ezequiel “Baby” Barriga, Eliseo “Lee” Barriga and Mando Barriga, all of Odessa, Oscar Barriga and Ivan Barriga, both of Meadow Lake and Mario Barriga of Albuquerque; daughters, Socorro “Nana” Sotelo and Lorina Barriga, both of Bernalillo and Ninfa Arenivas of California; brother, Ramon Barriga of Presidio; 29 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Martha Roddy
ASPERMONT — Martha Jewell Roddy, 92, of Odessa, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, at Regency Hospital in Odessa.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Aspermont cemetery. Arrangements are by McCoy Funeral Home.
She was born in Colorado City.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Doris Lindly of Odessa; two granddaughters; and three great-granddaughters.

Carmen Medrano
ODESSA — Carmen Medrano, 77, of Odessa, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at Seabury Nursing Center in Odessa.
Services are pending with Memorial Services Chapa Funeral Home.

Nettie Creighton
BIG SPRING — Nettie Arnold Creighton, 93, of Big Spring, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, at her daughter’s residence.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel, with Dr. Kenneth Patrick and the Rev. Ken McMeans officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Memorial Park Big Spring. Arrangements by Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home &
She was born in Big Spring and was a life-long resident of Big Spring. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Luan Stallings of Big Spring; four grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Estell Johnson
ODESSA — Estell Edna Johnson, 83, of Odessa, a retired beautician, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Griffin Jones officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
She was born in Van Zandt, County.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Otha C. Slayton and Guy L. Johnson both of Odessa and Maynard D. Johnson of Pearland; daughter, Shirley Jo Kelley of Odessa; sister, Patsy Batchelor of Odessa; 10-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 5-great-great-grandchildren.

Santiago Sais
PECOS — Santiago Sais, 84, of Pecos, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003, at Reeves County Hospital in Pecos.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at Santa Rosa Catholic Church with the Rev. Gustavo Lopez officiating. A rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Greenwood cemetery. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.
He was born in Balmorhea and was a lifelong resident of Pecos. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Eloisa Sais of Pecos; sons, Salvador Sais of Andrews, Alvaro Said of Ardmore, Okla., and Henry Sais of Pecos; and 11 grandchildren.

Leona Liby
MINNEAPOLIS, Kan. — Leona M. Liby, 69, of Minneapolis, former owner and operator of Hobby House of Furniture in Minneapolis, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, at Salina Regional Health Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Shields Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland cemetery. Arrangements by Shields Funeral Home.
She was born in Ottawa County, Kan.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Catherine Ruhl of Loveland, Colo., and Vikki Deiter of Odessa; brothers, John Welch and Larry Welch both of Minneapolis; sister, Phyllis Fifer of Minneapolis; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
