Pam ‘Sissy’ Bomar
ODESSA — Pam Bomar, 50, of Odessa passed away Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born to Bill and Barbara Henson in Denver, Colo., on March 31, 1953. She later married
Shayne Bomar on Nov. 7, 1994, in Odessa. She was a homemaker and a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Odessa.
She is survived by her husband, Shayne Bomar of Odessa; sons, Steven Payne and wife, Solana, of Capitan, N.M., Mark Chandler and wife, Kim, and Bo Chandler of Odessa, Glen Parker of Oklahoma City, Okla., Steven Bomar and Mikel Bomar of Odessa; daughters, Christina Brown and husband, Jimmy, of Carlsbad, N.M., Brenda Bomar of Midland, Texas; brothers, Billy Henson of Phoenix, Ariz., Steve Page; and four sisters Terri Banta of Odessa, Tracy Dunford and husband, Doug, of Odessa, Shannon Palmer and husband, Russell, of Ruidoso, N.M., and Jeannie Healey of Phoenix, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two on the way; 14 nieces and nephews; faithful and loving friends DeeDee and Belinda and numerous friends.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at Christ Lutheran Church in Odessa. Family will be receiving friends Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Larry Joe Briscoe
ODESSA — Larry Joe Briscoe, 55, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at The Methodist Hospital in Houston. He was born on August 24, 1948, in Forney, Texas, to Bill and Mary Jo Briscoe. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. In August of 1975, he married
Mary Jane Willis.
Larry is survived by his wife, Mary of Odessa; son, Tucker Withington of San Angelo; daughter, Katherine Adele of Odessa; brothers, Tommy Briscoe of Whitefish, Mont., Johnny Briscoe and Ronnie Briscoe, both of Paris, Texas; father, Bill Briscoe and stepmother, Joy Briscoe of Calera, Okla.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today at Odessa Funeral Home. Graveside services have been set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at Rose Hill cemetery, with a memorial service set for 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Steve Deines officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to First Presbyterian Church in Odessa, and or to our home away from home the Hospitality Apartments at P.O. Box 25213 in Houston, TX 77265-5213.

Billy Dean Jones
ODESSA — Billy Dean Jones of Odessa passed away Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003.
He was born May 26, 1932, in Sanger, Texas, to Homer and Urena Jones and was reared and educated in Midland, Texas, attending Midland High and Midland College. Prior to retiring to his ranch in San Saba, Billy owned O&L Well Service where he had begun working as bookkeeper.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Billy is survived by his dear friend, Brenda Allison of Odessa, TX; his daughters, Kim Flowers of Belton, TX; Gail Hendrix of Troy, TX; Debra Goodman of Dallas, TX; mother, Urena Jones of Midland, TX; brother, Clyde Jones of Midland, TX; sisters, Jo Ann Gentry, of Midland, TX; Fleta Lopshire of Houston, TX; Shirley Fox of Midland, TX; Helen Churchwell of Houston, TX; four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home, Sunday, October 5, 2003 between the hours of 6:30 and 8:30 p.m.

Lucy Jeanette Shirley
MIDLAND — Lucy Jeanette Shirley of Midland passed away Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, after a courageous five-year battle with cancer.
She was born June 7, 1940, to Floyd and Ima Hamilton in Moran, Texas, and was reared and educated there. On August 15, 1959, she married
Delton Shirley in Moran. Prior to her retirement Lucy was Vice-President with Well Testing Wireline Service in Monahans, Texas. She was a member of Lubbockview Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Patsy Lou Hamilton and grandson, Lance Garret Morgan.
Lucy is survived by her husband Delton Earl Shirley of Midland, TX; daughters, Patsy Lou Pickering and her husband, Clarence, of Monahans, TX; Pamela Susan Morgan and her husband, Gary, of Midland, TX; Cynthia Lea Christopher and her husband, Roy, of Burkburnett, TX; mother-in-law, Oleta Shirley of Temple, TX; brother-in-law, Bill Shirley of Dallas, TX; brother, Bob Hamilton and his wife, Dee, of San Antonio, TX; sisters, Sue McEachern of Hobbs, N.M.; Nancy Stone and her husband, Fred, of Moran, TX; Jill Cauble of Midland, TX; eleven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

BEAUMONT — Mrs. Jean A. Hamilton of Beaumont, Texas, passed away Friday, September 26, 2003, at Herman Memorial Baptist Hospital, Beaumont, Texas.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2003, at St. James UM Church, 2485 Blanchette Street, Beaumont, TX, with Rev. Robert Jackson presiding.
Mrs. Hamilton taught in Ector County Independent Schools for more than 30 years. She retired in 1998 while teaching at Odessa High School.
She was a dedicated member of Mackey Chapel United Methodist Church, Odessa, and the Woman’s Auxiliary of the Southside VFW, Post 6717.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Edward E. Poindexter, who also taught art in Ector County Independent Schools. She was later married
to Charles R. Hamilton, who also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her brother, Willie Orabo and his wife, Eura, of Beaumont, Texas; a niece, a nephew, many cousins of Beaumont, TX, and a host of friends.

Vera Mae Hammett Thompson
ODESSA — Vera Mae Hammett Thompson, 75, of Odessa went to be with the Lord Monday, Sept. 29, 2003. Vera was born a twin to Grover and Lola Bell Hammett June 24, 1928, in Eastland, Texas.
Her parents; three brothers, A.C. “Slim” Hammett, Ted Hammett, and George Melton “Jack” Hammett; and two sisters, Pauline Cole Campbell and Oma Lee Baggett, preceded her in death.
Vera and Kenneth Wayne Thompson Sr. were married
by Rev. Evans on May 18, 1946, in Skellytown, Texas, at the home of Eunice and Orris Fike. They moved their family to Odessa in 1956 and made it their home. Vera loved her husband of 57 years, her three children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nothing could light up her life more than her babies.
She loved spending time gardening, going fishing in Oak Creek Lake, and spending that special time with her family and friends. She always loved coming out each morning to share a memory verse with her family.
Our precious mother leaves behind her wonderful husband, Kenneth Wayne Thompson Sr.; sons, Kenneth Wayne “Butch” Thompson Jr. and Jack Loyd Thompson and wife, Judy, all of Odessa; daughter, Lola Cheryl Thompson Gardenhire and husband, Gordy, of Blackwell, Texas; her precious grandchildren, Tammye Dee Thompson Hayes and husband, Andy, of Arlington, Rocky Dean Thompson of San Francisco, Calif., Gregory Neal Gardenhire and wife, Wendy, of Odessa, Gary Keith Gardenhire and Allisa Gardenhire of Odessa, Jerrod Chayne Gardenhire and wife, Ellen, of Irving, Kevin Wayne Thompson and wife, Angela, of Odessa, Coby Pool of Odessa, and Teresa Morris of Austin. She also leaves behind her seven precious great-grandchildren, Tiffanie, Brittani, and Maci Gardenhire, Tori and Brandon Thompson, Coy Morris and God’s gift from Heaven, Mason Hayes. She, too, leaves her wonderful twin sister, Eara Faye Weaver, that never left her side for any long period of time, and her baby sister, Bettye Jo Davis Snapp, whom she had spent plenty of wonderful times; a wonderful sister-in-law, Jean Hammett; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Special thanks to her nurses, Melody, Katie, and Shelli of Intrepid, and the wonderful nurses who cared for not only her, but her family, at Medical Center Hospital and at the Hospice House.
Special thanks and warm wishes for Dr. Scott Sanford, Dr. Cody, and Dr. Perry, and to Rev. Clydel Chapman, who has been a great source of support throughout her illness.

ODESSA — Lilly M. “Sally” Crawford, 68, of Odessa, a retired Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. employee, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003 at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating.
Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrange-ments are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in London and was a Baptist.

ODESSA — Ruben Salgado, 57, of Odessa, a machine shop operator, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003, in Odessa.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating.
Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Services are by Odessa Funeral Home.
He was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico, and was a Catholic.
