LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kimberly Kirklin, 43, of Louisville, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, in Louisville.
Services were held Friday, Nov. 21, at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville. Arrangements were by Cremation Society of Kentucky.
She was born in Odessa.
SURVIVORS: Father, Layton Kirklin of Dallas; stepfather, Perry Davis Jr. of Odessa; and brother, Joe Kirklin of Yuba City, Calif.
Jonnie Moore
SEMINOLE — Jonnie Arlene Moore, 88, of Lubbock, a homemaker and seamstress, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at Carillon House in Lubbock following an illness.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at the Gaines County cemetery South with Ira Lynn officiating. Arrangements are by Boyer Funeral Home.
She was born in Winters. She was a former resident of Seminole. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Andrew Jackson Follis Jr.
ODESSA — Andrew Jackson Follis Jr., age 80, of Odessa, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, in Big Spring. He was born March 4, 1923, in Sparenburg, Texas to Andrew and Mable Follis.
A family visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with the Rev. Dave Adkins officiating. Interment will be held in Colorado City at 3 p.m.
Mr. Follis married
Willie M. Strickland, June 2, 1975, in Odessa. He was a truck driver for Merchants for many years before his retirement.
He always took time for children, veterans and the elderly.
He is survived by his wife, Willie Follis of Odessa; daughters, Darlene Yow and companion Robert Doll of San Angelo, Tammie Jenkins and husband Jimmy of Mingo Junction, Okla., Fran Chastian and husband Robert of Paron, Ark.; brothers, George Follis of Lubbock, Johnny Follis of Colorado, Luther “Lee” Follis of North Bergen, N.J., Sheridan Follis of Mesquite; sister, Ollie Beck of Lubbock; grandchildren, Denise, Nathan and Terri; and four great-grandchildren.
If desired, memorials may be made to the San Angelo Boys Ranch.

Marjorie ‘Margie’ Kinsey Parkinson
BURLESON — Marjorie “Margie” Kinsey Parkinson, 79, a homemaker, passed away Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at a Dallas hospital. Funeral will be at noon Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at Laurel Land of Burleson Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Kimball Bend cemetery in Kimball Bend. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Parkinson was born Sept. 9, 1924, in Mound, Texas. She married
William E. “Bill” Parkinson Sr. on May 15, 1954, and was a longtime resident of Odessa and San Angelo before moving to Burleson in 2001. Margie was a valedictorian of her 1943 Oglesby High School graduating class and had recently attended her 60th high school reunion in October. She was a homemaker who loved and raised seven children. Margie loved to cook rolls, cakes and pies and loved more to share them with family and friends.
Mrs. Parkinson was preceded in death by her husband on March 3, 2002, and by a son, Wade E. Parkinson Sr., on May 13, 1999. She is survived by six children, Charles and Mona Leach of Cleburne, Fran and Truman Reid of Burleson, Luther and Debbie Leach of Kopperl, Donald and Beverly Leach of San Antonio, Sue Leach of Odessa and Adaline Parkinson of Burleson; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Luther Kinsey of Mineral Wells and Carold Kinsey of San Antonio; sisters, Marie McFadden of McGregor, Pearl Jones of Gatesville, Joyce Parker of Snyder and many nieces and nephews.

Willie Jean Whitten
ODESSA — Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother left this world on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003. She passed away at Hospice House with loved ones at her side. She fought a good fight, but she was tired and it was time to go home.
Jean was born Dec. 19, 1931, in Bodcaw, Ark., to Ira and Bert Cassidy. She graduated from Bodcaw High School in 1949, salutatorian of her class. She moved to Odessa in the summer of 1950 to marry her high school sweetheart. Jean Cassidy and Terry Whitten were married
on Aug. 8, 1950: a union that has lasted over 53 years. Jean and Terry have two children, Terry Michael Whitten and B. Diane Parker.
As a young wife and mother, Jean accepted Jesus as her Savior and was baptized by Brother Wolfe at Sherwood Baptist Church. For many years she was active in adult and children’s programs at Sherwood. Jean’s life centered around her home, family and friends. She loved gardening and one of her greatest pleasures was sharing plants and flowers from her yard. She was energetic and loving and always set goals for each day. She gave of her time and energy to whoever needed it. Her grandson Jarrett was the light of her life and received much of her loving attention.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father and her beloved sister Margie Saunders. She is survived by her husband Terry, her son and daughter-in-law Terry Michael and Regena Whitten of Denver; her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Steve Parker of Odessa and grandson Jarrett Whitten Parker. She is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy Hamilton of Emmet, Ark., and Mavis Smith of Odessa. Aunt Willie Jean will be greatly missed by her numerous nieces and great-nieces and nephews.
Family visitation will be Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Service arrangements entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

LaVella Hantz
ODESSA — LaVelle Vivian Hantz, 83, of Odessa, co-owner of the Tri-State Café in Belle Fourche, S.D., died Wednesday, July 16, 2003, at her residence.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Geddes, S.D. She was Methodist.

Clarence Osburne
ODESSA — Clarence Edward “Arkie” Osburne, 71, of Odessa, a roustabout for the oilfield, died Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at Crane Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Crane.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jim Ray Brown officiating. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
He was born in Mountainburg, Ark. He was an Air Force veteran.
SURVIVORS: Son, Tommy Osburne of La Port; mother, Ruby Faye Osburne of Odessa; and sisters, Elva Blackman, Laberta Martin and Donna Brown, all of Odessa.
Lynn ‘Lefty’ Akin
ODESSA — Lynn Akin was born March 31, 1928, in Stephens County to Fred and Iantha Akin. He was the youngest of seven children and enjoyed reminding everyone he was the baby, being fifteen minutes younger than his twin.
He attended Breckenridge schools, then proudly served in the Navy. He served in WWII, when he acquired the nickname “Lefty.”
He could really cut a rug, and won several jitterbug and waltz contests. He loved to play canasta and spending time with his family. He was proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was self-employed until health caused him to pursue other options. He married
Lynne Williams in 1975. Together they shared eight children, eighteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Nothing more can be said of a man than his family and friends loved him and respected him. They will miss him very much.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Frank W. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Larry Elder and the Rev. Doug Hergert officiating. Burial will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Breckenridge, Texas. Services entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
He is survived by his wife Lynne of Odessa; daughters, Shawnia Partridge of Lindale Texas and Cynthia Crouch of Atlanta; sons, Ricky Akin of Odessa, Johnathan Simon of Haltom City, Tommy Simon, Terry Simon and Jessie Simon all of Atlanta and Robbie Akin of Watauga, Texas and his sister Helen Penfield of Hobbs, N.M.; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Daniel Andrade Sr.
ODESSA — Daniel Andrade Sr. went to be with our Lord on Nov. 29, 2003, after a lengthy illness. He died at Baylor Medical Center Hospital in Dallas. He was a beloved husband, brother, father and grandfather.
Mr. Andrade was born June 1, 1936, in Colorado City to Antonio and Maria Jesus S. Andrade. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1955. He united in marriage to Naomi Ceniceros on Feb. 22, 1959, in Fabens, Texas. He earned a Respiratory Therapy Degree from Odessa College, B.A. in Sociology from UTPB, and a Master of Arts from Sul Ross University. He served in Korea for the U.S. Army. He enjoyed running and arts. He was a Manager of Respiratory Care at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Fort Worth, Associate Professor of Respiratory Therapy at Odessa College, and a retired Respiratory Therapist from Medical Center Hospital. Mr. Andrade was a Christian Baptist and a church member of Kingston Avenue Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Naomi Andrade of Odessa; three sons, Daniel Andrade Jr. of Odessa, Benjamin Andrade and wife Patricia E. of Allen, Texas and David Andrade and wife Catherine of Cincinnati; brother, Justo Montanez and wife Esther of Odessa; two sisters, Manuela Montanez and Patricia Cheney, both of Odessa; two grandchildren, Benjamin S. Andrade II and Alexia E. Andrade of Allen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m. today at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, at Kingston Avenue Baptist Church, 5200 Kingston Ave. with Dr. Jimmy Braswell and the Rev. John Taylor officiating. Interment to follow at Roseh Hill cemetery. Services by Odessa Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Adam Ceniceros, Gabriel Chavez, Isiah Chavez, Joel Suarez, Jonas Suarez, Michael Scott, Raul Pena Jr. and Doyle Shoemaker. Honorary pallbearers are Daniel Andrade Jr., Benjamin Andrade, and David Andrade. The family suggests memorials to Kingston Avenue Baptist Church.
