Francis Hugh Morris
ODESSA — Francis Hugh “Frank” Morris, 81, of Odessa, passed away Nov. 30, 2003, at the Texas Veteran’s Home in Big Spring.
Frank was born Aug. 16, 1922, in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Francis Mayfield and Anna Phillips Morris.
He attended Fordham University.
Frank served his country during WWII in the Army Air Corps where he flew the AT-11, the B-17D, and the B-29.
For part of his training Frank was stationed at Midland AAF.
There he met many lifelong friends and his future bride, Helen Marie Ellis.
After the war Frank returned to Odessa with his wife, where they raised their family.
They attended St. Mary’s and St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
He worked for E.L. Farmer Trucking Co. and retired as president in 1999.
Frank was an avid sports fan and was a Permian football season ticket holder since the school’s inception.
Frank was very active with the CAF Desert Squadron where he was Squadron leader.
He was flying sponsor of the Spearman and donated many hours of service to the CAF.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Helen Marie.
Survivors include his three sons and their wives, Mike and Becky Morris, Tim and Judy Morris, Steve and Olivia Morris and a daughter, Donna Morris; his brother and wife, Kenneth and Eileen Morris; five grandchildren, Christopher Morris and wife Stephanie, Michael Morris and wife Robbie, Anna Morris, Emily Morris Cunningham and husband Justin, and Tim Morris, to whom Frank was known as “Big Granddad.”
Frank had four great-grandchildren: Ashton, Payne, Rylie and Staton.
His brother-in-law and wife, Harold and Franny Ellis and a host of nieces, nephews and friends also survive Frank.
Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. James Bridges officiating.
Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Services entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the CAF Desert Squadron, Home Hospice or your favorite charity.
Royce Riggs
ODESSA — The Rev. Royce Darrell Riggs, 69, of Odessa, a pastor, passed away Friday, November 21, 2003, at an Odessa hospital.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2003, at Greater St. Lukes, AME Church, with Rev. Darrell Turner officiating.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
He was born in Lampasas.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Marie of Odessa; son, Jonathan D. Riggs of Navarre, FL; brothers, Doug Riggs of Odessa and Orville Riggs of Texas; five granddaughters.
Heath Hamilton
ANDREWS — Heath Hamilton, 31, of Dublin, Texas, formerly of Andrews, a student at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, died Friday, November 21, 2003, near Dublin.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Donnell officiating.
Burial will follow in the Andrews West cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
He was born in Andrews.

Frank Daniel
FORT STOCKTON - Frank N. Daniel, 88, of San Angelo, a retired city tax collector, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, in San Angelo.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Jim Miles officiating.
Burial will be at East Hill cemetery.
Arrangements are by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
He was born in Cotulla and moved to San Angelo four years ago from Fort Stockton.
He was a longtime member of the Fort Stockton Volunteer Fire Department. He was Presbyterian.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Marilyn McKenzie Gladson of San Angelo; sister, Louise Schneider of Austin; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Nell Harrison
PECOS - Nell Betty Anderson Harrison, 88, of Fredericksburg, a retired rancher and businesswoman, died on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital in Fredericksburg.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pecos Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Clark Ford officiating.
Burial will be at Pioneer cemetery.
Arrangements are by Pecos Funeral Home.
She was born in Pecos. She was Christian.

ODESSA - Hazel McCurrin, 87, of Odessa, a retired grocery checker, died on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003 at her residence.
Services have been scheduled for a later date. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Navarro County. She was Baptist.

ODESSA - Robert 'Bob' B. Mendoza, 72, of Odessa, a truck driver, died Nov. 14, 2003, at Regency Hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Memorial Services Chapa Funeral Home with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating.
Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery.

He was born in Barstow.

Richard Rankin Sr.
BELFRY, Mont. - Richard W. Rankin Sr., 65, of Alpine, died on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at Big Bend Regional Hospital.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. Mike Alcuino officiating.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29 at the Belfry cemetery.

He was born in St. Louis. He was Catholic.
